  • This has happened to me before, but not anymore. Yay! Main thing i did was stretch, stretch, stretch! Stretch before, during rest periods between sets, and after. I still get sore coz i try to push myself during my work outs but it's not too bad and normally goes after a day or two. But when i started and didnt think…
  • Your boyfriend is a dick. He shouldnt make you feel bad. Dont listen to him and go do things and wear clothes that make you feel good :) and congratulations on the weight loss! Remember to keep on the healthy way of losing and not fad diets, so you can stick with it. Good luck!
  • Erm...yes? Lol. I eat all of my exercise calories back. Reason: i set my activity level as sedentary with no exercise, and eat back calories earned from steps and exercise. I figure, even if mfp has overestimated my caloric expenditure, as long as im still losing weight (which i am), then everything seems to be going fine.…
  • I love buffets and cheat days! They are the days when I can have everything i want haha. What i do in preparation for a buffet or cheat day is to have a massive gym day either before, on the day, or after and create that deficit. Then log everything! Last buffet i logged i ate nearly 3000 calories :s but i try not to let…
  • Hi! I have plantar fasciitis on both feet, although my right is worse than my left. The pain is constant. Im also a nurse, which doesnt really help as im on my feet 3-5 12.5hr shifts a week. I hate cardio as well, but I have over 100lbs to lose. What i've been doing was go to the gym 1-4 times a week (depending on days off…
  • Haha thanks for all the advice everyone! I've been going to my classes only since i've last been here, and doing research on what strength training i can do. The reason why i insist on having some sort of strength training is because i have observed other people losing more weight and keeping the weight off if they have…
  • Haha ok i get all your points. Might have to do splits again then for it to work with my schedule. Just thought i'd try something new with the stronglifts. Coz i cant sacrifice my classes as i desperately need some cardio to increase my cardiovascular fitness and endurance. Saying that, are there any suggestions on…
  • It used to work for me last year. I did it like that (substitute stronglift with just normal weightlifting session focused on a different body area per session), plus cardio, and i lost weight before i fell off the wagon when i went for a month long holiday. Lol. So i thought i'd get back into it in the new year. I…
  • I want to lose weight! Hahahahaha. I have over 100lbs to lose! :D :D Anyway...y'all saying I take rests in between, but can I do cardio during my rest days? I go to classes and can do anything from pilates to zumba to crossfit as cardio. As a sample, this is how this current week looks like:* Monday-day shift *…
  • Yes! I'd like to join. Cardiac nurse here, and supremely overweight. Sigh. I need to lose over 100lbs but irregular eating and sleeping and snacking plays havoc to nutrition and exercise. Let us know when the group is formed!
  • Cardiac nurse here. By tachycardia, how fast are we talking about? At rest and on exercise? If your cardiologist cleared you for exercise, then your cardiologist thinks that the pros of exercising beats the cons of having a really fast heart rate. End of the day, you need to listen to your body, and push yourself to your…
  • You can put in your recipe and MFP will calculate calories per serving based on the ingredients.
  • Bless you all! Just had a mini-breakdown yesterday, pulled myself together, and am determined to get through this month in one piece. Been struggling financially since my partner lost his job 3yrs ago and hit crisis point recently. Both of us don't have any family so we're totally on our own. Applied and got an overdraft,…
  • I usually work out on my days off. I can't muster up the energy to work out after a 12.5hr shift and a 2.5hr commute.
  • Im a cardiac nurse looking to lose over 100 pounds! I work 12.5hr shifts 3-5x/week, with 4 nights per 28 days rota, not including overtime. I fell off the wagon 4 months ago and starting up again now, but when I was on MFP last, I was logging from midnight to midnight no matter if i was doing a day or a night shift. Makes…
  • Im down 4.6lbs. goal was 8lbs so was a bit disappointing but hey ho.
  • First time I heard of it. What is involved?
  • Thanks for all the replies! Yes I'm in the UK, so will get on the GP as soon as I can. I have insoles but I'm wondering if there are prescription ones that will be better for my feet. Im walking and doing mostly Zumba with the occasional Pilates thrown in with my strength training in the gym. Don't feel the pain when I've…
  • That first stretch is what i do first thing in the morning so I can walk to the bathroom. Lol. I do calf stretches about 3x/week when I go to my exercise classes but I'm guessing I should do them a lot more often eh? I'll start doing that with my arch stretch first thing in the morning as well then. My calves are already…
  • Healthcare professionals are knows to be the worst patients. Sad fact. Hahahahaha.
  • Hahaha. No such luck. Plus the heaviest patients are the ones nearest the station and I don't really want to have all my assignments to be bedbound. Lol. What kind of stretches are you guys doing? I've been stretching my arches first thing in the morning (by pulling my toes up towards my shins) before getting up else I…
  • Nurse here as well. Can't count how many night shift threads is on here lol. I work day and night shifts, and I log midnight to midnight. Someone just recently suggested changing the meal names to chunks of time (12mn-4am, 4am-8am. etc) and I think I'm gonna try that. Beats having to figure out when and where to log!
  • I use both. Lol. So if I'm not losing weight but losing inches, or gaining weight but losing inches, I know it's muscle.
  • I have it all over my upper arms. Lived in a tropical country with smooth skin, moved to the UK and it shows up. Humidity clears it up, but short of moving back to said tropical country, I'm stuck with it. Lol. My GP told me to exfoliate and moisturise twice daily but I don't have the time nor the desire to do that for…
  • Oooooh there's an idea! I go midnight to midnight as I do both day and night shifts so this might actually work better than just randomly logging in whichever meal. Thanks!
  • Haha yes there is sometimes about once a month or so. I never see them again after that one class hahahaha! I don't know why, all them booty shaking ladies in the class should be reason enough to stay lol! Lol I'm the same. I look at TRX and back away. hahaha!
  • Hmm...been putting off going to the podiatrist or GP but maybe I should. Been treating it myself with stretching and icing on my days off lol. It's not too bad when I'm walking and I do use supportive shoes but the minute I stop walking and then resume again, I'll have a noticeable limp until everything stretches out…
  • Hi @degeorgeff! Sorry I can't seem to edit the spreadsheet. My new weight is 141 lbs! Yay!
  • I go midnight to midnight. As long as everything is logged somewhere, I don't really care if it's logged as breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks. Lol. Plus it doesn't add confusion to when you're on your days off.
  • I'll try this, thanks! Thing is, my daily quote is 1235cals/day, that's why I eat back my step calories and exercise calories. With the extra calories, I usually hover around 1700-1900cals/day. I'll try to be more specific and I'll see what happens! Thanks!
