Absolutely amazing and inspiring. You definitely "got this".
-
Congratulations. That is one heck of an accomplishment. I hope you are as proud of your success as you should be. Keep up the good work.

Congrats on getting out there and getting your swim done. Thank you to you and all the others who take care of us every day and particularly through this pandemic.
-
Well done. Congratulations. Hosting/entertaining folks who may not be eating the way you want to can be quite a challenge.
-
Proof positive that a picture is worth a thousand words. Congratulations on your success and thank you for the inspiration.
-
Congratulations on both successes. You have accomplished so much. No doubt you will accomplish the rest.
-
Congratulations on deciding to do what is best for you and absolutely no shame at all in getting help when needed.Yummy recipes could be added to the food group here if you wanted. (hint)

Absolutely amazing and inspiring. Congratulations and long and happy life to you.

avietvet: Congratulations on your gold medal. I saw on the Starting Strength site that they have a book The Barbell Prescription: Strength Training for Life After 40 and am wondering if you used that as well or just the programs found in Starting Strength.

Did my usual treadmill routine today but managed 20 minutes of it running at 5mph. Hoping to get to 30 minutes before long.

Same here, no sync for a week now and no amount of uninstalling and other techniques helps.
-
My Fitbit Charge HR stopped syncing with MFP a good week ago and others have complained about the same problem. Complaints to MFP have been responded to with "we are aware of the problem" but so far I have not seen any evidence of a fix.
-
I tried all the uninstall and disconnect processes using both my home computer and the mobile app and mine still won't sink. MFP support says they are aware of the issue which isn't helping a whole lot. :)

I started by using a BMI calculator to find the "normal" range for me and picked a number half way between the middle and high end of that range. Once I got within 20 pounds of my initial goal I got a DEXA scan to help me set a new goal. I still don't have a firm number but rather a range I am working toward and will…

Not that I can tell. I always check single ingredient entries against the USDA database and packaged goods against the label. If MFP had a really accurate database in the premium side I might be tempted to join.
-
I second the USDA database. https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list All of the items in the MFP database have been entered by users and many are very inaccurate.
-
Yes they will but not always automatically. Under My Home select settings and in that list select "update diet/fitness profile". This is the page that has your starting weight, goal weight and so on. Just click on "update profile" and that will take care of adjusting your calories assuming your weight has changed. Of…

My wife an I are in the prep large batch and freeze portions camp. We typically do a 6 pound chuck roast or similar size pork shoulder in the slow cooker and then portion it out and freeze. You can also make things like individual meat loaf or home made soup. It makes it really easy to plan meals because you know the…

I'm 64 and so far have lost 90 pounds since starting MFP in March of 2015. 20 more to go.
-
AnnPT77, Glad you found them useful. That site has quite a few articles of that type on different subjects that may be of interest. I'm still in the weight loss part of the journey so there is no way to fit in that much protein and still get my MFP recommended carbs while staying within my calorie limits. I have been…
-
Thanks ann_kristen. No Costco near me but I will see if I can find it, maybe online.
-
What brand is the protein powder you are using? I have read that most don't dissolve well in hot liquid they just clump up?
-
Congratulations!

Congratulations!!!!

We have an older Bowflex Ultimate which uses their "power rods" and seems to work fine. If I were buying one now I don't know if I would chose the same type or go for the newer style with the discs instead of the rods. About the only exercise I do not care to do on the Bowflex is squats and that is just a matter of how I…

I don't know if this will help if you have BDD but I would recommend getting a Body Composition Analysis (DEXA Scan) if you can. This will give you a very accurate body fat percentage overall and where the fat is located so you will have facts. Thank you for your service, my wife and I met in the USAF. Neal

Absolutely outstanding keep it up.

But then there is this actual study which indicates that older adults should probably have much more protein than previously recommended. http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs10522-016-9637-9

Started at 39. Currently 27 according to the calculator. Getting a DEXA scan next week to confirm where I am at. 27 pounds more to go if the calculator is correct.
