Just sent you a friend request! Just past my 195th day, and I'd like to be more active around here :)

Hey guys! I did start in the New Year's thred but stopped posting due to stalled weight. My goal is 72kg (top of BMI for me) and current weight is 75.8kg. By Valentine's day, my goal is just 'weigh less', since at this stage in my weight loss, things can take their time. So, I'll post here every week and just be curious…

My only rule is: Keep going! Whether I go over one day (or week); whether I miss all workouts in a week; whether I 'forget' to log one day; just pick it up and keep *kitten* going!
-
I'd like to join! I'm using metric and going for .5kg a week - which is about a pound. Height: 171cm (5'7.5") SW: 84.7kg CW: 75.3kg GW: 69kg GW at end of challenge: 71.8kg I'm taking off .5kg because I plan to maintain over the Xmas/NY break. But if I get to under 72 I'll be very happy with myself!

Me three. I'm not always hungry for the exercise calories. But if I am, I eat them all! It's worked well enough so far.

I typed out a long and thoughtful reply then pressed the wrong button and lost it! The main thing I said was that speaking to your dr about your weight loss goal is the best bet for you and your little one. All the best!

Me too! I need to lose 12kg, which I think is about 25lbs. When I get there I might want to lose a few more, but aiming for healthy BMI first!

So, I know it's expensive especially if you're in the US, but maybe speak to a psychologist? A lot of people think they're 'not bad south's or 'don't have that kind of problem', but it can be a lot of help, since it sounds like you have a lot of self esteem issues. If that advice doesn't feel right, @middlehaitch 's advice…

I was reading an article just an hour go on BMI and one of the parts was how it isn't practical for exceptional circumstances like this. They recommended consulting a dietitian.

This. And how often are you weighing yourself? Fluctuations can mask actual fat loss. Edit: lost my text when I posted originally.
-
This! I can't believe how small some recommended serving sizes are! Weighing is so important.

Best answer in this thread. IMO

Yes! Eighteen months to go for me. I'm shooting to be at goal weight next year, but will continue to recomp and improve my fitness for 30 and beyond.

Is it too late to join? I'd love to reach my Halloween goal  My weigh in day is Saturday or Sunday. CW: 185 Halloween goal: 173 Ultimate goal: 159

Hi there, Not sure how similar my goals are, but just in case, I'm chiming in  I live in Sydney and would like to be on the road to looking better by summer - which is December here - and to reach goal by next year. Age: 28 Height: 5'7" SW: 187 lb CW: 185 lb GW: 159 lb

I keep coming back too. This time around I'm taking it ultra slowly so that I can eat as much as I can while still losing weight. I understand the self-loathing; I've struggled with depression and anxiety my whole adult life and they can really get in the way of trying to look after myself. My one piece of advice is to…

To me, it's totally worth the extra calories (or in my case, kilojoules). I like adding it to porridge and it keeps me satiated until lunch time.

I agree with everyone who says 'it depends'. I used to weigh once a week, but that actually caused me more anxiety, and I would just stress out as the days got closer to weigh-in day. For me, weighing in every day is a lot less stressful because it helps me learn my body. I'm also a bit of a geek for data; I love being…

Just going to say, my physique might not be as great as yours, but my blood work and blood pressure are perfect. And I'm overweight by most standards. My reason for weight loss is vanity with a bit of wanting to be sure my blood work and pressure stays healthy.

Had a few this week: 1. Had pizza on Thursday and only had three slices! Normally I finish off the whole thing. 2. I've been to the gym four days a week for two weeks. Early days yet but still happy about it. 3. This one's sort of scale related but it's more a habit: I found a spreadsheet on r/fitness and have been…

I have two: 1. Where I am now is a result of yesterday's decisions; what choices do I want to make today for tomorrow? 2. Believe I can, I will do this. There is no room in my thoughts for 'what if I can't?'
-
I love this! Can I join? I weigh and log in metric so I'll have to readjust the numbers for myself. Start weight: 83.5kg PS challenge gw: 80.3kg

I haven't posted in over a week and was actually doing okay. But I had a setback yesterday so I'm back here as a show of self-support. Keeping my goals small today: JFT 1. Be kind to myself. I'm healthy and doing ok. 2. Go to BodyJam class.

Thanks for this. I came to this thread because I had a setback yesterday and have been feeling discouraged. AND I've now logged in (and logged food for most of them) for 70 days and haven't lost anything  But, my diet is slowly improving and I have a better understanding of the kinds of foods that have better…
