6 months in, down 50 lb. You can do it.

It really depends on what works best for you. I find keto very easy to stick to and I enjoy what I eat, but some people find it very difficult to limit carbs that much.

I highly recommend keto. I'm a type 2 diabetic. At the end of last year my A1C was 8.1 and my fasting blood sugar was creeping up higher and higher. When I got up one morning and saw 269, it scared me. I knew I couldn't go on living in denial and abusing my body with food. I started keto on January 1st and as of today I've…

My favorite is Green & Black's 85%. It's got a luscious, silky mouth feel you just don't get from most dark chocolate.

It really depends on each individual. Their age, general physical fitness, diabetic or not diabetic, and how much weight they wish to lose. It's hard to compare a type 2 diabetic who needs to lose 100 lb. with a relatively healthy person who wants to lose that nagging 15 pounds. Things like body type, eating disorders, and…

I just say "And you're looking a little older today, Helen." Implying, of course, that I may be fat but I will always be younger than you. :)

I can't prove there's a connection but two years ago when I was counting calories and eating low-fat, I allowed myself one cheat day a week where I could eat whatever I wanted. Naturally I wanted pizza, fast food, ice cream, etc. I didn't keep track but I was probably eating massive amounts of fat that one day a week. It…

I agree, to a point. I can't be a UPS delivery driver because I can't lift 75 lb. Fair enough. Sometimes life works that way.

It definitely sounds like a slippery slope. Next it's going to be obese people, as you say, and/or type 2 diabetics, etc. What if you skydive on the weekends? This is also potentially unhealthy and preventable. It does seem as if this company is overreaching into applicants' personal lives.

I've been addicted to food since I was 11. Fortunately, my family didn't fat shame me, but we did have to "clean our plates" from an early age and that really messes with your ability to know when enough is enough. Kids in school made fun of me and acted like I was the fattest thing they'd ever seen. I felt like I must be…

Pizza, ice cream. Something with cheese sauce.

Eating noises. General rudeness. It can't be that hard to show a modicum of consideration for other people, can it? Did saying "excuse me" go out of style or did I miss a memo?
-
I haven't done anything not nice. But the day ain't over yet.
-
I drink diet soda every single day and I'm losing weight steadily. It doesn't have any impact on my blood sugar.
-
Wow! Congratulations. All that hard work is paying off! I'm down from 8.1 to 6 and hoping to be off meds this year too.

I'm curious what you eat in a typical day. It sounds like you're not eating enough. The way I deal with it is I listen to my body. If your body is saying feed me, there's a reason. Especially if you're so hungry you can't sleep. I usually have a protein snack before bed, like an ounce of cheddar cheese or some nuts to keep…

This: My absolute favorite snack on the go. Protein and fat to give me energy and keep me satiated and keep my blood sugar stable til my next meal, and it's delicious too.

You know what they say about pizza. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. I'm easy to please, as long as it doesn't have sausage or olives. I still remember the pizza I used to get from a place near my apartment about 20 years ago. The most gorgeous white pizza. That was the first time I ever had feta cheese. I fell…

The original Panera Bread chicken salad. It was perfect.

Keto has been fantastic for me but. Shrug.

Fall down seven times, stand up eight. You got this.

That's a tough situation. I know how challenging it is, living with other people and being the only one on a diet. I can't imagine dealing with the situation you're in. Eating together is such an important ritual, it goes beyond food. It's special time together. And it's maybe hard for her to let go of sharing comfort…

I am DYING to try this! I haven't had ice cream in almost six months..

I'm inclined to say you should speak to your doctor. Getting nauseous to the point of vomiting during low impact aerobics is unusual unless you're doing it in extreme heat. If you're breathless to the point where you cannot speak, it's too strenuous. Maybe it's too much too soon? Even so, I would seek professional advice.

I can't have it anymore but I always went for Phish Food.
-
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope the memories you made together with bring you peace and comfort in the days ahead.
-
See, that last detail is what would make me flip out. Not just that someone had the audacity to eat my food but didn't even have the decency to try and hide it. Just leaving it wide open, blatantly lying there on the shelf, ravaged, half-eaten, a shell of its former self? This means war.

These! https://www.cjsketokitchen.com/keto-peanut-butter-cookies-only-3-ingredients/ I make these at least once a week and I use them for protein snacks. Delicious!

I don't see anything you need to feel bad about. I see a well-intentioned person who is being bullied and spoken to abruptly, without patience, respect or dignity. I'm sorry you had to experience that. I regretted the last post I made, too. It was about ice cream. That should tell you something.
