  • Dear colleague (we have to address all emails this way, even if we are actual friends) I don't care what you think about my lunch choice. I do not care to hear your thoughts on eating carrots (*snigger... so hilariously phallic...*) I don't care that you 'don't have time for all that' implying all my free days are spent…
  • Yes it is possible- I was a little over an inch shorter when I was obese in my 20s! All that weight pulls you down all over! Plus Im sure you are walking taller with the pride of all that weight loss- endless benefits ;-)
  • Awful stuff in my opinion, I tried it years ago for about 3-4 days, I experienced that ^^^^^ particular side effect. Do not go far from home/ bathroom when you first try it. It does make you think about fat content in food though!
  • A man's not a man without one! <3
  • Hi Macha, I think firstly allow up to a year after having a baby to be anywhere near 'normal'... six months is good to start making sensible changes but weight loss should not be a priority at this stage. Make some changes- stop rewarding yourself with food, be realistic about how much you eat in a day and move a bit more.…
  • I have had this problem losing 10 stone over several years and have found the older I get and the more I lift (not silly- just pushing myself) has 'filled' my loose skin and my body looks better than ever, even if with looser skin than I would like. Why are you not wanting to do free weights? You will probably find you…
  • What an inspirational post! and a lovely view ... ;-)
  • I do, I get callouses doing housework though and blister very easily! I have tried several pairs of gloves and have a favourite so if you do wear them bear that in mind, they can make a huge difference in your ability and comfort if they are not right. They also have slightly padded palms which for me makes push ups etc…
  • I used cornflakes instead of breadcrumbs in burgers, to top things with a crust etc. Smash them up and they work amazingly with lots of things!
  • You can make your own gluten free flours with different blends of ground nuts etc which I have had some luck with . I would agree with the gluten free products available being higher in sugar and a variety of strange chemicals- I also personally find the gums used in lots of these products have a very negative impact on my…
  • I was diagnosed with this around 6 months ago and was in agony for months. The piri-formis is linked to the sacroiliac joint which can give sciatica too. It took a while to separate these two issues for me but anyway I have not had the injections. The solution I found was rest for a good couple of weeks to allow the…
  • Intolerance does not show in a blood test, only coeliac disease (I think!) I was diagnosed with this (intolerance) many years ago by a homeopath- not a cheap option either I realise, nor one that many give credit to, but that appointment changed my life. Easiest way to see is avoid gluten totally for three or four days and…
  • I already did up to ten regularly, now up to 15... trying for 16 today!
  • I would struggle to remain calm, I am quite sure the management do not want people pushing their own products and they will probably stop it. Then simply pretend she is invisible! Otherwise "I have told you I am not interested, you are being rude and ruining my down time." Straight talk is the best way in my world ;-)
  • You describe yourself as 'jeans and sneakers' could these other women be jealous? Perhaps they would love to be comfortable enough to do just that but are too wrapped up in their 'perfect' worlds to do so. ( I think this is different from avoiding someone you went to school with 25 years ago, I do that all the time, that's…
  • Yes I went to several classes of this, it was unbelievably hard but I would agree results are great!

  • Have a look at some of the success stories on here to inspire you- I was 20 stone at 21 and half that now- it feels completely impossible when you sit there with a lot to lose but it really is possible, you have a whole life ahead of you and I wish I had got to grips with all this when I was younger. Set small goals so you…
  • Binge eating can be tied to low self-esteem, even if you may not realise it. It is a circle you know you can break with the right support and mind set. You deserve better than to treat yourself this way, and clearly you can do it with such a huge loss. It is very difficult, feels impossible at times, to change your mindset…
  • I started my strength training with push ups, I couldn't do one when I started and I would say do it everyday to see quick progress, it is such a great feeling. Now I do two or three sets of 10 as part of my warm up and am trying the 30 day push up challenge (up to 50 in 30 days!) I could do 15-20 depending on the day,…
  • Yes I did this for about 6 weeks a couple of years ago and found it very good. I do tend to go for longer periods without eating than some do, this is just my personal preference so I did not struggle too much with fast days. I found the most beneficial thing for me personally was forcing myself to pay attention to…
  • Slow and steady with careful calorie counting is the very best way! Understanding your actual needs for the day is a life change and will be successful for life. Good luck, its very inspirational on here!
  • I suffered with this years ago when waitressing, the only thing that helped was massaging/ stretching the tendon for a few minutes three times a day for a month. Pull up your big toe, the tendon will pop out, you can stretch this with regular manipulation. My mum uses an orthopoedic ball which is like a tennis ball with…
  • Evening primrose oil, not quick fix but as a long term thing. I have been taking it every day for about 3 months and only realised half way through this period that it has been almost pain free! I saw a programme about it being used in higher strength doses to treat all sorts of menstrual related issues, included chronic…
  • I didn't realise I was depressed until I was finally persuaded onto prozac. I under no circumstances advocate jumping on the drugs, I tried as many have suggested ways to lighten my mood, change my thinking etc as you could think of, but in my case the meds cleared my mind to recognise I was actually on auto pilot, just…
  • Have you tried Ibuprofen in gel form? My doctor gave me some for a bad back and it did offer some relief without the internal damage of extra tablets!
  • Chia seeds swell in your stomach to help you feel fuller- add extra water to your day and it will help thats what I do.
