I get bored of eating the same things so change it a lot but at the moment I'm really in to 'breakfast trifles'; I pour some granola in to the bottom or a glass, add some chopped fruit or berries, drizzle with honey and top with a layer of greek yoghurt. It tastes good and I can make it the night before to save time in the…

I used to go spinning twice a week and lost fat all over - my legs slimmed down along with the rest of me. After a few months I did notice that I had developed large muscles above my knees (no idea what the name for that muscle group is) but they were probably muscles I had all along that only became visible when I lost…

What did you used to eat, before you started trying to lose weight?
-
I'm really disappointed by this thread. I settled down with a plate of cheesecake to read some comments about how you're all going to die from sugar cancer unless you eat 100% clean and haven't seen a single one. Not even a mention of kale. Where's the broscience? Hmphhh.
-
I'm surprised no one has mentioned PB2 yet - it's not quite the same as the real stuff but is close enough, with a lot less calories.
-
Jeez, I can't believe some of the responses on here! OP starts a light-hearted thread about wanting snack ideas to enjoy her remaining calories and the diet police carry out a full on raid. Personally I'd attack a jar of peanut butter with a spoon.

I bought this top over two years ago for a party and have yet to feel comfortable in it. Technically it fits but it's organ-squshingly tight round the waist, and my gives me armpit muffin tops. I actually haven't tried it on in ages so it's probably a lot closer to fitting now, but I'd like to be able to wear it next…

What do you mean, old fecal matter and not digestible food ingredients? Where in our bodies does this all lurk? If someone has problems with old fecal matter getting stuck somewhere in their bodies and internal parasites then they need to see a doctor and get appropriate treatment, not drink a smoothie.

My intuition tells me 'eat all the cake, it will make you happy' so it doesn't work for me. Maybe one day, after a few years of logging and balance I will be able to get the hunger signals working like they should but not now.
-
So many cups and fractions of cups. Do you weigh anything? 'A little mayo' can be hundreds of calories if you're not careful.
-
Would you all judge me if I said that Diet Coke and Pepsi taste exactly the same to me? Like Kel, I prefer orange soda.
-
Urghh I'm not surprised it's killing you inside, stop eating poison!!
-
Do you have a food scale, and weight all of your food?
-
But they can eat just junk food if they really want to. CICO is all that matter for weightloss so 'junk food' isn't going to make an ounce of difference. Of course you're right, to lose weight and be healthy we do need balanced diets but surely no-one needs telling that?

I've read too many stories about people getting home from the supermarket, opening their bunch of bananas and having a nest of deadly poisonous killer spider eggs drop out, hatch, and colonise the neighbourhood. You never get that with apples.

Mayonnaise. I still can't quite understand how something so light can be so calorie dense, I'm pretty sure it defies physics.
-
You lost me at the lettuce. Lettuce has no place on a pizza and never will.
-
In curries yes, but all of a sudden it's appearing in smoothies and lattes and scrambled eggs and all sorts of places it doesn't belong. I think there's a theory that it has some special cancer-fighting properties and people are leaping on the runaway turmeric bandwagon.
-
Turmeric is really 'in' at the moment for some reason. I can't stand it, all it's good for is staining your kitchen utensils yellow.
-
I can't moderate either, but I still love being given chocolates. I put them away somewhere I can't easily reach them (for a while I had a stash of chocolate oranges in the loft) and get my boyfriend to retrieve them for me when I want them and have budgeted for the calories.
-
What are you talking about? 'not ready to lose weight' - what does that even mean? If we all had to be in perfect mental states with iron-strong self control before trying to lose weight we would never do it.
-
If you're not weighing everything, then you're probably not eating as much as you think. I find it very hard to believe you wouldn't be gaining at a rapid rate if you really were consuming 3000-4000 calories a day. Could you open your diary?
-
That's great! there are some amazing looking cupcakes on that site. I mean, my friend thinks that's great...I only eat kale and ice cubes
-
You don't happen to have a recipe for those do you? Asking for a friend...
-
Yup, I'm a brit and talk about coffee here is like another language to me. Creamer? Half and half? French delights? Ripple milk? Polynesian moon syrup?
-
Well if you eat so much body lotion that you go over maintenance, then I guess...

If guestimating portion sizes works for you then carry on, but as you've said you feel like you're not getting anywhere fast maybe you are underestimating how much you're eating and would benefit from giving food scales a go. Honestly weighing your food doesn't take as long as you might think - if you're cooking pasta,…
