  • I hit my step goal again today and got 30 active minutes according to Fit bit. My hubby, who is not on Keto, made dinner tonight. Broiled steaks with just a little salt and pepper. Spinach sauteed with bacon and mushroom with extra butter on the side. I love him so much!
  • How were your sodium and potassium yesterday? I like to make sure I have some chicken broth right before I work out if I'm going in the morning. The calories are low enough that it won't break your fast if you're doing IF but the sodium and often potassium are pretty good. I like Kitchen Basics Original Chicken Stock 420…
  • I got up and hit the gym this morning while my hubby and our girlfriend slept in. We went out to lunch and I made careful choices and finished the day with a beautiful steak and veggies on the grill. My protein is a bit higher than usual but I am still really happy overall.
  • I hit my activity/step goal today and my macros were in point, 76% fat, 20% protein and 4%carbs. I finished my day with a few calories left over and I feel great. Happy Friday!!
  • Off to bed after working most of the day with a migraine. I really wanted Thai food so I made peanut and coconut sauce and put it over shiritaki noodles for myself. I know that will make me feel so much better in the morning than if I had ordered Pad Thai from the local restaurant. It's a major comfort food for me.
  • In the meantime, sauerkraut is a great source of probiotics if you enjoy it.
  • It sounds like you have a case of White Coat Hypertension.
  • Yesterday was a busy day so I knew I wasn't going to make it to the gym. I did keep my eating on plan and my macros were within range for my goals. I'm happy about that. I also managed to add some short spurts of walking and accrued 33 active minutes on the Fitbit and met my step goal for the Step Bet I am participating…
  • Welcome! My favorite health food these days is a juicy hamburger with fried egg, cheese and guacamole. No bun, of course. It's nice to have reached a place where something so decadent is known to actually be good for you. And yes, read the stickies about electrolytes they are very helpful!
  • Tantrum noted and accepted. Now pull yourself together and be good to yourself. ;)

  • Yesterday I got my workout done in the morning and stayed on plan with my eating. Allergies kept me up late so I slept in this morning. Packed my gym bag for after work. 4:55 p.m. my Mom calls and asks me to come over for dinner. I told her I would love to but I have to get in a good walk first. Walked my old neighborhood…
  • Right now I have my calorie goal set at 2000/day with macros of 75% Fat, 20% Protein and 5% Carbs (25 grams). I have been really conscious of making choices that fit my macros in the past week and have had days where I have been over and also under my goal. Of course I am still only a week back into making healthy choices…
  • Lori, my new trainer at the gym said that doing incline push ups is a great way to get started and be sure your form is right. Keep using that sink!
  • Welcome!

  • Good Morning! this is a great idea. My goals for this month are to eat consciously every day (I am no longer assigning my food choices a 'good' or 'bad' title). I also want to get in 30-60 minutes of designated activity 5-6 days/week. I am taking part in a Step Bet so I will need to reach 8200 steps/day on 4 days and…
  • This was my super charged breakfast: 1 hamburger, 2 eggs, 1 slice havarti cheese, 1-100 calorie cup of guacamole and a drizzle of 1 tbsp of avocado oil. 77% fat, 21% protein and 2% carbs = 838 calories that will fuel me until dinner.
  • I recently increased my Effoxor from 37.5 mg to 75 mg. I feel like it's helping and still not a very high dose. You might want to talk to your doctor about it?

  • Where did you get them?

  • You really hit the nail on the head with this one. I am struggling with the fact that so many of our celebrations are focused around food in addition to the fact that so many of us use food to soothe. This is a tough transition, especially where our relationships with our family are concerned. I had been doing great on…
  • Welcome! If you're feeling good while still eating fruit then I would say you should continue to eat fruit. And I agree with the others who mentioned coconut oil or MCT oil for added fat. Be sure to check out the launchpad and read up on electrolytes and, most importantly have fun!
  • Wow, I'm so happy he set us straight. :D
  • I had my gallbladder out 9 years ago. I have never had an issue with digestive issues while eating lchf. The only time I'm "too loose" is when I take too much magnesium.
  • Fantastic!! Good for you, keep going with this healthy lifestyle you've adopted, it's clearly working for you (and us).
  • I have found a cough product called Safe Tussin. I has no sugar or dyes. I don't know if you can find it near you but here is the website I found: www.safetussin.com
  • Lots of water with lemon, unsweetened iced tea, keto coffee, a little bit of Mio and also lots of flavored seltzers. I like to stick with Tito's vodka when I go out because I am sure it is gluten free and low carb.

  • I love using pork rinds to make nachos. Melt some cheddar cheese on top and add a tbsp of salsa and 2 tbsp of sour cream. Sometimes with some avocado because YUM! I have also found Duke's brand smoke shorty sausages at Wal-Mart (130 calories for 2 sticks, 11g fat, 7g Protein, 1g Carb)
  • I have been following Jason for several weeks and am loving the 21 day challenge. I agree that he really needs some variety in his diet, I think it would be easier to get the 4000 calories down. Based on watching his experiment I have decided to increase my calorie goal to 2000 calories/day and not to adjust based on…
  • I agree, eating at maintenance may be just the thing to get you past the hangries. Set a limit, like 2 weeks, and then slowly lower your calorie goal. I can't see your diary so I don't know what your fat/protein/carbs have been looking like but be sure you are not going over your carb goal, meeting your protein and eating…
  • Welcome! First I would like to echo what others have said about reading the stickies and getting plenty of salt. It'll make you feel so much better. Second, remember to focus on all of the tasty and good for you foods that you CAN eat and not on the foods that you can't. Third, feel free to ask questions. This is a very…
