You might be able to call your doctor's office too if they're not the type to receive electronic messages and leave a message with the nurse.

Does it happen after you exercise? Or is it just all the time?

So, I don't fast before most types of workouts, except yoga when I'm going to be upside down a lot. And I have a hiatal hernia, so that's why. (Not a doctor-recommended thing, just an "I've had a hiatal hernia for more than 10 years now, and this appears to matter thing".) Maybe eating a bit before working out might be…

Be prepared for folks to ask you to open your diary. Really, though, your macros probably don't make that big of a difference as far as long term weight loss goes. It typically comes down to some tricky logging stuff (thus people wanting to see your diary).

I haven't looked anything up, and alcohol isn't really my thing. (I have other vices.) But you can always make your cocktails "skinny" too by using diet soda, syrup, etc.

Sorry you're dealing with a lot right now. Having a supportive spouse is fantastic though, isn't it?

???

Yes. May your cravings be small and your cramps be weak or non-existent.

My doctor wants me to do keto for neurological reasons, and my mom's cardiologist wanted her to do low carb way back before she died. It's not that unusual.
-
You don't have to close your diary. Believe me, the number they give is nonsense.

My current mini-goal is to no longer be overweight. I have a little over 6 pounds to go. Then on to the next goal!

Everyone is different, but being sick (especially if they put me on steroids) makes me gain a few pounds. This will pass and you'll feel better soon and get back to rocking on.

I always suggest yoga and walking because I love them and because they help mind and body. There's Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube. She even has Yoga for Beginners. Good luck on your fitness journey. It's worth it.

Oh yeah, it will come off for sure. I've already lost some of the weight. I think I learned that tracking my food, even (possibly)somewhat inaccurately, works to keep me on the straight and narrow. I don't know if I'm someone who gets to stop tracking. We all go through stuff we'd rather not. It doesn't mean we should give…

I would take this with a grain of salt because it's in Psychology Today.

Heck yeah!!! Congratulations!!!

I was in maintenance for about 2 years. What threw me off was neurosurgery. I was kind of laid out for a while before the surgery and then after the surgery as well. I was in more pain than I expected and having seizures, but didn't really want to take the actual pain medication because it made me nauseous. Regarding how…

My why is a sad, but important one. My mom had a lot of trouble with her weight and, consequently, the issues that go with that (high blood pressure, high triglycerides, diabetes). The first time I had a little trouble with my weight, she and I did weight watchers together and were both successful. That maintenance is…

My first thoughts were similar to those of @Lietchi . Menstruation or constipation. Maybe both? I've also been ever so slightly sick before and gained 6 pounds. Don't let it get you down. Weight loss is not linear.

I am not a huge fan of typical weight lifting. I know, I know: Boo! Hiss! I do body weight work via yoga, use a rowing machine, and my pull up bar should be here soon. I do cardio, and I enjoy it. I'm not going to go something I don't like though so... *Shrugs*

I have a water rower. The noise is meditative and it looks like something a Hobbit might build because mine is wooden. I don't row on the water (yet).

Do you also track your calories? Weight loss mostly comes down to what you eat. Exercise can "give you back" some calories, but I've noticed I can't eat all my exercise calories back and still see results. You'll just have to experiment for yourself regarding that. Good luck on your journey.

I get at least 10,000 steps a day. I usually get more like 12-15,000. I do yoga for around 30 minutes a day. I use a program on my rowing machine 5-6 times a week. (I started with walking and yoga, but added the rowing.)

My neurologist recommended I fast for 12 hours a day because some studies have shown it helps with inflammation. 12 hours comes pretty natural now.

My uncle had a lap band. I know that's different, but it broke and he gained the weight back very quickly. He died of heart failure soon after. My cousin got gastric bypass. She lost a lot of hair at first and weight. She had a lot of issues with vomiting at first, but that's leveled out. She's gained some weight back, but…

I am 5'4 and was hanging out between 123 and 126 (having used MFP to get there) until some medical stuff happened and now I'm working my way back down. If it wasn't possible, I wouldn't be doing this again.
-
Wow! Great job! I wish you the best of luck in your continued success.

Because people like easy. And it isn't always easy to measure/weigh, and log everything you eat until you develop the habit.
-
Good luck on your health journey, friend. Sometimes it's frustrating and it never goes as fast as we think it should, but it's so worth it.

When you have an infection, sometimes your weight will go up. Your body responds to a lot of different things with inflammation (which usually means a few extra pounds). Give yourself some grace during this time in the weight department. I hope the infection clears up soon if it hasn't already. My doctor asks me to take…
