I used to hate cardio but feel like it's got its place now for me, I really enjoy spin class and a boxercise class. I think it was just about finding cardio that I enjoyed rather than trying to run even though I hated it!

Edit - I do also like weightlifting and strength training overall too!

Both. Cardio is great for your heart and endurance while lifting is great for your muscles.

If I had to pick one:

Lifting, because if you lift with effort it is cardio, and you're almost always gonna look better doing "only" weights, especially for guys.

Of course in the real world, both absolutely have their place.

    Theoretically best: Both.

But I do mostly a thing people call cardio, but of a somewhat strength-y-er type. (It's on water rowing when possible, machine rowing in Winter.) I also bike some, but that has even more limited strength effect.

I lift a little in my off-season, usually, but I don't enjoy it very much so I slack off at the slightest excuse. (That's 100% not a good thing.) Still, I don't have super low muscle mass, especially for my demographic. (I'm F, 67.)

It kind of bugs me when people speak as if cardio was all one thing, with all types having the same effects. In practice, there's a wide spectrum.

Love everyone's answers!! I do both as well .. I just prefer to spend most of my time lifting.. my husband didn't believe me when I told him I've gotten stronger. I asked him to let me deadlift him , need less to say he was shook πŸ˜‚ he's 180lbs .. and I was extremely proud lol πŸ’ͺ I agree both are important .

Both, just on different days. I've tried doing both on the same day, and invariably one side or the other suffers.

I am not a huge fan of typical weight lifting. I know, I know: Boo! Hiss!

I do body weight work via yoga, use a rowing machine, and my pull up bar should be here soon.

I do cardio, and I enjoy it.

I'm not going to go something I don't like though so... *Shrugs*
