  • I'm whole food plant based. You can add me if u want to see what I eat :)
  • I've found eating enough calories has helped me sooooo much. I eat around 1400-1500 to lose 1 lb/ week. I basically sit alllll day too so I consider this "higher calories" for me. It's so much more enjoyable then 1200. 1200 would feel good for while but eventually it would end in bingeing. No point in doing low cal to lose…
  • I feel ya! It just clicks eventually. For me right now I gained back the only 15 or so lbs I ever lost last year. And now I have this laser focus and determination to get to my goal, and get there the right way. Consistency and patience is key!!
  • Thanks!! Good luck, that's plenty of time! At least to make great progress even!
  • You could just try it for a while. Everyone hypes up a whole food plant based diet so much. Just give it a go! I enjoy the Starch Solution way of eating but there are lots of YouTube vids with tips.
  • Stevia can have a really strong taste when companies who use it put too much. I was going to say use less but once I read it you can't do that of course with premade foods. If you know someone that would take them you could do that. But if you wanted to keep and get your moneys worth you could use less and also use some…
  • Hey! Add me if you want! I love oats for breakfast. With frozen fruit or chopped apples and a little almonds. Even when I wasn't plant based I loved them so it's a convenient transition. Today was my first day fully back into it (hence my searching whole foods plant based here). YouTube High Carb Hannah she's awesome! Also…
  • Love the fresco option at Taco Bell. Also really like Wendy's salads. Apple pecan chicken is yummy, half size is still filling and has decent protein. The chili is good but I like the bulk of the salad.
  • I found that even when eating a non veg varied diet(mostly whole nutrient dense foods PLUS at least a couple servings of plain Greek yogurt a day! And meat here and there still) I STILL haven't been getting enough calcium which has seemed very odd. Moving forward im tweaking my diet and experimenting more and more with…
  • Ground turkey is good in alot of lunches. I do ground turkey taco meat made with chopped bell peppers on salad, with veggies, etc. I made a crock pot pulled pork with a leaner cut overnight 12+ hrs on low. Similar nutrition as chicken. Added some BBQ sauce on the side to control portion. Yummy. Some say pulled pork can't…
  • Couple cans of tuna mixed up with mustard and whatever u like in tuna (I like relish and a bit of olive oil mayo). Eat on lettuce, with veggies like celery, carrots, cucumber or with a few crackers or low carb food of choice. Can't be beat for quickness.
  • Tonight I had an apple sliced thin for dipping with 40g(about 1/4 c probably) 2% Greek yogurt mixed with 20g powdered peanut butter (like PB2 but I get the Raleys store brand) and a little stevia. Mix it up and it makes a yummmmmy PB dip with a lot of protein to stay full. Mine totalled a little under 200 cals but you…
  • Same!! I do strive for 40,30,30 average on weekly basis but on the zone they want every meal AND and snack to be perfectly balanced. It's alot of work for no good reason. I do try to have a balance at meals of complex carbs, protein and a little fat which helps with satiety but calories are king for weight loss. It's an…
  • Do you eat dairy? Greek yogurt has AMAZING protein. Cheese to an extent but is higher cal like beans.
  • I mix about 125-150 grams 2% Greek Yogurt (2% tastes waaaay better than nonfat for this) with 2 tablespoons (10g) Unsweetened Hershey's cocoa powder and a packet of stevia. Add a dash of water or milk or leave it thicker either way. Heaven!! I have it almost every night as dessert, so good and packs alot of protein too. I…
  • Either oatmeal with some nuts and/or peanut butter and a little protein powder and an apple all mixed together, put some boiling water in at work and like it sit a while. Or 2% Greek yogurt with some frozen blueberries or strawberries and nuts. I always try to get carb, prot, and fats about 400 cals. keeps me full 4+ hrs
  • I use the coconut aminos!! Love it on cauliflower fried rice! I'd love to find something "saucy". But I will use it more in veggies etc now that you mention it!
  • They use a sweetener that is low/no cals because it's basically straight fiber. Also I think they use sugar alcohols which can cause gas. Everyone raves about them so I went and got several different flavors they are way sickening sweet to me and taste like fake sugar, but to each his own and they have tons of protein.
  • Wish I had that prob. NUTS and nuts butters foooor sure.
  • I have Hashimotos and am on meds, levels are getting better. Unless you're confirmed hashi's I wouldn't worry about the GF thing (reguLar hypo). My doc told me to go gluten and soy free since they are inflammatory to an already under attack thyroid. I dont know if I believe it but I mostly cut all the simple carbs anyway…
  • I agree with everyone. If you can't stop once you start better just to not have them around at this time. Also depends on how hungry you are throughout the day, if I'm lucky and I'm not hungry at the end of the day(or feeling sick not wanting to eat) I'll eat a whole TABLESPOON or 2 (weighed out based on the jar) of peanut…
  • I love these new "ice cream" bars called Yasso Greek Yogurt bars. They are so delicious, have some protein and come in yummmmmy flavors like mint chip, strawberry, cookie dough, coffee chip and more!! Also they're around 80-100 cals which is relatively easy to fit in at the end of the day. And they are stocking them at…
  • AMazing thread!!!! Read it start to finish! Last year I read a book that sounds SO similar to you, I found it on Amazon called "When ashes get in your eyes" or something like that Haha. Good read!! Except she worked in a crematorium only, no burials. So it's cool learning about the embalming and casket stuff. Edit: It's…
  • Following!! I'll be back to add more but I looooove a simple chicken or turkey soup with bone or regular broth and lots of veggies especially baby carrots and mushrooms!! I almost never get tired of it, it's easy and makes you feel like you're eating alot!
  • Such an awesome thread!! Well mine is, after a 3 week vacation in London coming home feeling pretty crappy for letting myself gain a good portion of my weight back, BUT never once did it cross my mind to quit again (as I have in the past trying to lose weight) and go back to my old eating habits. It's really hard to…
  • Depending on how strict you have to be with the lactose, greek yogurt is already the lowest lactose dairy product you can get practically because most of the lactise has been drained with the liquid (hence the thicker consistency). That's basically why i started eating it(low lactose), but its my fave now because the…
  • Greek yogurt (0% fat plain for most protein, least cals and 0 added sugar) and a little jam and stevia. Carrots and hummus. String cheese and grapes or apples. I always try to have protein with my snacks. but sometimes ill do just veggies for low cal "boredom" snacks. Right now I like cucumber cut into sticks and dip into…
