Hello, fellow geezers. I just joined the 60+ club on Sep 9. Started a month ago at 245 with a goal of 165. Currently 239. Have a great weekend, everyone. Thanks for your fellowship.

August 8 start = 244.6 September 1 = 242.0 Sept 30 goal = 235.0

Amazing: that more than 3-1/2 pounds lost per week! You look like a whole different person. Thanks for the inspiration.

Good job! Thanks for proving it can be done.

This.

No. Willingness to trade a year of life to achieve a weight goal suggests some kind of eating disorder or body image dysfunction.

Shame on whomever flagged Besaro's post as spam. That is not helpful.

Welcome to MFP! It's a very supportive community. Logging my food and aiming to stay under my daily calories have really helped me focus on eating better. I am beginning to see results: down 11 lbs so far, one month into my 98 lb journey. I think my success so far starts at the grocery store. I make sure to buy healthy…

I seldom have room in my daily calories for any alcohol. I may have a glass of wine every few weeks with a special dinner.

Start logging your food intake here. It helps. If you really think you're a compulsive overeater, check out Overeaters Anonymous. https://oa.org/find-a-meeting/

New to MFP. Starting at zero.

It's a treat if you log it, a cheat if you don't.

Welcome! Add me.

Yes! I find both the extra calories and that good post-workout feeling to be very motivating.

I'm new so I'll defer to experienced members, but here's what had me off to a good start. 1. I used my age, sex, and current weight to set a healthy goal weight. https://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/ideal-healthy-weight 2. I put that goal weight and a few more stats into MyFitnessPal to calculate my daily calorie and…

Welcome back Mrs P! I found it useful to put my stats (age, height, current weight) into a healthy weight calculator just to see a weight range to maintain. That helped me set reasonable calorie goals here in MFP. https://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/ideal-healthy-weight Please friend me if you want a support buddy.

No need to feel shame. Start fresh tomorrow. Also, as many people have said, 1,200 calories is almost a starvation diet. Check with your nutritionist to make sure thats what s/he meant.
