  • For me, honestly, if I even have the comprehension at that time of the night to log them, I would put them on the day before if I still had calories leftover. If not I would add them to the new day.
  • I have been using Alesse for over 10 years. I went from having terrible crippling pain with horribly heavy flow and horrendous migraines to a maybe 4 day period and very light flow, with almost no pain (just some minor discomfort sometimes) and decreased migraines. I have noticed no effect on my ability to lose weight. I…
  • Agreed that it depends a lot on genetics, what you eat and how you take care of it, however; it also depends somewhat on the rate you lose too. The faster you lose the less time your skin had to "catch up" so slow and steady is your best bet if you are really worried about it.
  • You need to do what you want to do. Recomp would be a good idea as said above because you can build muscle and lose fat. Just keep in mind that if your family members didn't see you through your journey, it is a big shock to them and they are likely just voicing their perception.
  • I guess some people just view it differently. MFP gives you your deficit built in to your daily amount, therefore, if you eat that plus calories you burned you are still going to lose at the rate you programmed into MFP. Keep in mind that this journey is 80% Food and 20% Activity (roughly). Exercise you do should be…
  • There is a definite answer on how you are supposed to do it according to how MFP is supposed to work. The program is designed to build in your calorie deficit when you set up your profile. So 1500 already includes your deficit. Therefore, any activity you do above and beyond that, you are supposed to eat the calories back…
  • There are some companies that make pre-workout drinks that contain things like caffeine etc. to help give you energy during your workouts. I use Cygen Decimate to give me a little kick start with my workouts.
  • You need to see a professional like a physiotherapist, massage therapist or chiropractor. I have had this before and had it resolve with no meds. Meds just help with the symptoms (or are supposed to anyway), you need help with what is causing the symptoms (pain, etc.).
  • I was always a "muscly" kid. I weighed more than people thought, mostly because of muscle because I was not fat. I have always been self conscious about my size because all of my friends seemed to be thinner than me, but it never stopped me. As a young child I participated in swimming because my asthma prevented much…
  • Peanut butter was my biggest food-scale disappointment :(
  • I am 5'5", weigh 263lb and am anywhere between an 18-22 (XL-2X).
  • I work rotating shifts, so I work a lot of 12 hour night shifts. I try to treat them just like a day shift. If I stopped eating at midnight I would eat my own arm! Timing of your food doesn't matter, the amount you eat does. I will have my breakfast when I wake up, usually head to the gym, snack after then off to work for…
  • Hey Everyone! Looks like many of you are in the same boat as me!!! Anyone add me if you want! SW: 268 CW: 262.8 GW: 160
  • Don't mess with your back. I have back problems, my advice is go see your doctor to get x-rays or something to make sure you didn't hurt something. Then I would go see a physiotherapist. The long term damage that is possible is just not worth it!!!
  • Hey there! I have almost the same stats as you! I am 31 and have been gaining and losing the same 10lb for a while, but scale is going down now!! Height: 5'6" SW: 268 CW: 263 GW: 160 Add me if you want! Anyone!
  • Discuss it with your doctor, but don't despair. When I was younger I had stupid bad asthma attacks, couldn't do a lot of running sports as a kid, thought I would never be able to. By the time I was in my 20's (my asthma was from 18 months to probably 10 years before I saw improvement) I could play 90 min of soccer. I still…
  • Take the BMI calculator.....throw it out and never look at it again. BMI is for classifying populations not individuals. When I was about 16 my doctor told me I had to lose about 20lb (I was around 160lb) to be in my healthy BMI. I played a few sports, but nothing crazy. I was likely around a size 10-12. Fast forward to my…
  • I am 30 and also have around 100-110lb to lose. My friends can see my diary, so feel free to add me if you want.
  • I would go with what a lot of other people are saying and go to a specialty store. If you are looking for a running show, go to a running store. As a general opinion, I have wide feet and I find that New Balance has a nice line of both running and training shoes that allow a little extra room, are comfy and don't slip.
  • Thanks everyone! Will definitely try some of the suggestions! I think I am hesitant to try again because last time I ended up in the ER for a battery of tests (because the headaches wouldn't go away) and despite undergoing numerous tests including sinus x-rays and blood tests, being in the ER for 8 hours on IV…
  • I don't have a problem with sugary drinks except the caffeinated ones (like specialty coffees), I can even give up juice. I don't like black coffee, so in order to not cut it out completely (I can't do that I would just not function) I either have to put half hot chocolate (70 cal compared to 310 cal so not too bad) or 2-3…
  • I do not consider them to be unhealthy. Just trying to get most of my carbs from better sources than chips and bread. I have my diary set to 50% carbs and today I pre-logged my food and am within 25g of the goal set for me.
  • Stress is a factor, but it's more a factor in that I plan everything out but then I get tired and busy and the plan goes to hell because I just feel crappy. Or I put off planning and rush just to do what I need to do. I guess I need some more willpower.
  • I don't drink soda at all really, that isn't hard to cut out. I do drink juice, but usually real stuff. I am trying to wean myself off high sugar caffeinated drinks, but I don't like coffee much by itself yet. I work shift work so going without caffeine some nights is not an option.
  • I joined in March so not too far along in my weight loss for the year. Lost 4-5lb fairly quickly but have seemed to stall out, lost motivation for a bit and just generally struggling for unknown reasons. Hopefully can get back on the horse this week and make some movement in that scale!
  • Whatever MFP sets your goal to is for you to lose 1lb a week (if that's what you picked). If you exercise it makes your deficit larger (lose faster) but most people eat some of those calories back to fuel their workouts (since exercise is for health not weight loss). So you are looking at your NET calories per day to be at…
  • I have about 100-110 to lose (depending on what I see when I get there). Anyone feel free to add me to get this journey started!!!
  • @ObesityWarrior I am not really setting a specific weight goal, more like just want to feel better and be able to be more active for a trip I have in December.
  • Fantastic start!! Welcome :)
  • I joined this group late, but I am about 4-5lb down since I started (2-weeks ish). I know I likely won't make it to 100lb before December 31, but I would like to get as close as I can!!!
