Tuna is high in protein and a great alternative. I second the lean pork loins, too.

Just looked it up on their website. It looks like you picked a winner there. I would guess it's pretty accurate. You could always overestimate it by 10% or 20% if you'd like.

No problem here. There is no reason you both have to eat the same things or the same portions ESPECIALLY since your bodies have different caloric needs. Talk to him with numbers. It's like a household budget but with calories...then again, like you said, eating out is budgetary, too. Basically, he needs to man up and be…

You can lose weight in one month's time. The question is: how much. And after the one month, are you going to keep it off or gain it all back? I've been losing .8 - 1.5 pounds a week by counting calories and eating at a deficit. I haven't cut out my favorite foods either. I eat whatever I like as long as it fits into my…

My thoughts exactly.

Please get help from a professional. The things you're saying are really scary, and a doctor can help get you healthy again.

Dairy is such an easy source of calcium. I'm allergic so I struggle to get in enough calcium. If you don't have to cut it out of your diet, then don't. Keep enjoying it. As for dieting, it's all a calorie game. I've gained weight and I've lost weight being non-dairy. It makes no nevermind for weight loss.

Ditto: - Digital - Tare feature - measures grams and ounces - big enough to put a bowl or plate on and see the display I bought the cheapest one I could find and it's worked great for me. Good luck!

It happens to all of us! I hope you enjoyed. :) Just eat light the rest of the day. Take a walk. Start over tomorrow. No worries.

I weigh almost every day to get comfortable with the fluctuations. Of course I'll weigh more the morning after a big evening meal -- and that is OK because I'm living life, balancing my calories by eating lighter today, my clothes fit nicely, etc. For me (not everybody of course) this keeps me less worried about the exact…

I'm likely weird, but I love cereal as a snack. Also, I like sugar free jello when I want to taste something but don't have calories to spare. And then there are the premade fruit in gelatin...the ones I get are 40 calories.

Stir fry is a super easy way to make a fresh cooked for one. I find that red peppers and onions work well for me. I'll fine dice them to put in scrambled eggs for breakfast. And then for supper, I will cut them up along with chicken for a stir fry. I'll put them in meatloaf or taco meat, too.

THIS ^^^ and THIS ^^^

Absolutely! I'm weighing everything else, why not? Besides calories, I'm tracking for fiber, sodium, and vitamins, too.

Sounds like you're doing it right! Congratulations! We are barraged with unrealistic weight loss results by the tabloids. Totally unrealistic and certainly unsustainable. Losing slow and steady is the way to go. And you're not losing that slow. Change your expectations. :)

You're averaging 2 pounds a week. That is FANTASTIC! Congratulations!

Here are my favorite sources that aren't veggies (that's been covered nicely elsewhere in this thread). Nature's Path Flax Plus Raisin Bran (8g fiber / 190 cal) The only raisin bran I've ever had where the flakes stay crispy in milk! http://us.naturespath.com/product/flax-plusr-raisin-bran Nature's Path Flax Plus Multibran…

Since you're 5'2", I can pretty much guess you're at 1200 calories a day -- I would not go any lower or you risk not getting enough nutrition. With so little to lose, any loss is easily obscured by water weight. DING-DING-DING! Every time I increase my exercise, I will retain water for a couple of weeks. It can last longer…

If you always want to eat late at night, save some calories for snacking. Otherwise, go to bed, clean, brush your teeth, etc.
-
You can do it! Lots of great advice on this thread.
-
Every time I increase exercise, it takes the scale two weeks to register due to water retention.
-
You need to tighten up the logging. While you are most definitely retaining water from increased exercise, you are likely eating too many calories. Experiment with how many exercise calories you eat back -- 25% to 50% and see if there is a change.
-
I've been wondering how to estimate this, too.

No such thing as perfect or better. We all have different backgrounds, tastes, lifestyles. I have a dairy allergy and I still ate a dairy based dressing tonight because it is my favorite and sometimes I don’t care. ;) You do you. I'll do me.
-
Well, that's something you're going to have to get used to. Weight fluctuates, sometimes a lot. It's the overall trend that is important. Some people weigh every day to get used to the rhythms. Others opt to weigh less often.

If I'm hungry, I have a treat. If I'm not hungry, I will save the calories. However, if you are prone to under-eating or have an eating disorder, I would recommend that you get your goal calories in for the day. Nuts, dried fruit, peanut butter, avocados, french fries, even.
