To LisaL, just want you to know I’m doing IF/lower carb too. I’m in my 50s too. And have been doing it for 8 days; also dropped use of any alcohol. By not having bfast (tho I put premier protein shake in my am coffee) it’s much easier to meet my calorie target and have a 16hr overnite fast. I’m keeping fiber up and net…

First time in a challenge. I’ve been derailed by losing focus when stress hits. I think checking in daily and sharing feedback and supporting others will help keep me mindful and on track.

I am reading this thread because I was wondering about the benefits of the farmers’ carry. I was thinking of inviting a neighbor friend (both of us about 60 yo) to walk a stretch of our street and we would share a pair of 20 lb kettle bells-we would switch back and forth with only one of us carrying at a time. (Both of us…

Thanks for getting this going. I'm going to work on 'transitions' throughout my day by using the Breathe app in my Apple Watch. I plan to have a 5 min session after coffee before I tackle the day. A few minutes after lunch and one before dinner to help me switch gears and reenergize. Also, at other times when I need to be…

Anyone interested in setting up a May challenge along the lines of the ideas in the links provided by @KnitOrMiss ? I thought I was poor regarding my 'routines' but I think instead I am about handling 'transitions' and I'm always delaying/distracting/avoiding with a nibble or a sip. It's a pattern that keeps the weight on…

I use egg roll wrappers in my veggie lasagna. Easy to cut to fit pan. Makes it lighter.

I checked out Wheat Belly and you know I think my 8 week blood sugar protocol was very similar: I kept my non-wheat grains like quinoa to .25c or none; and my net carbs below 50g. Subsequently, I had a dramatic reaction when I re-introduced some wheat. Now I know from all of you to be very patient and let my insides heal.…

@cheesy567- thanks for your comment. I'm just starting to connect all the dots, like joint aches...Is this really related?! Thought I was just getting older/post menopause...I'm still a bit in denial that my diet is interconnected with joint aches, blood sugar, weight gain, lower GI distress when I've eaten a very clean,…

Prajnaparadha: Reflect on crimes against your wisdom. I learned about this is a yoga class and it was eye-opening for me. Instead of willpower lapses, I reflected on how I sabotaged my own wisdom. Usually, it was a crime of rushing myself so I couldn't 'hear' my personal wisdom. Sometimes it was a crime of treating myself…

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I guess this is an important issue for me; I've been without obvious symptoms except creeping sugar numbers and BMI, which this WOE has improved. Also-I do feel less rusty/stiff in my joints--anyone else experience that one? Maybe I was on borrowed time; I do feel like I hit a threshold…
