  • Hi folks It felt like a good week but the scale didn’t show it. I think my body is catching it’s breath from rapid weight loss and I am ok staying here for awhile I guess. • I’ve lost about 110 pounds walking ( well hiking) with my dog). I started barely able to walk a block. Now we do between 4-5 miles a day with some fairly steep inclines. I still have 50 pounds to go and a lot of extra skin. I’m adding some body weight excercises now to try to add muscle mass.
  • Hi folks Jumping in and joining a little late. I have been on a long roller coaster ride to health but this year and this challenge I think will see me to my goal weight finally. • I just crossed the 120 pounds lost mark this week. I still have 30-40 to go. I was 287 when i started and I am 166 now. I am 46 and a mom who works full time. I am just over a year in my weight loss journey. My success is three things I think. First and most importantly deciding it was possible. I didn't think I could do…
  • Way to go! Love the wedding do over idea.
  • I have been trying two things because this is my downfall. First I save my last walk of the day for after dinner. sometimes if I can walk for an hour I run out of time before bed time to snack. Also I try to brush my teeth right after dinner because eating after brushing your teeth is kind of gross.
  • I'm shorter, older and started heavier than you so if I can do it you can. I started at 287 in August 2016 and am down to 192 95 pounds down. I really don't limit any one food group it's just too hard for me to feel denied. I just eat within my calorie budget and try to make "incremental" choices (like ground turkey…
  • This is amazing! Your perseverance and commitment are inspiring. I too recently hit Onderland and it was such an amazing feeling.
  • Thanks I love the builtlean link. I think your right accuracy seems tricky but at least knowing the ball park helps. So far in a week worth of measurements my body fat is just on the high edge of average (big victory!!) and my muscle mass seems to be increasing slightly or holding steady. It will be nice to track those two…
  • I was nearly 300 pounds and 5'2 47 year old woman when I started loosing. I started at about 1700 calories a day and was losing a little more than 3-4 pounds per week at first. I'm telling you this because when you are heavy you can eat more and still loose as rapidly as is safe. The first few months staying at 1700…
  • Great Job! I'm about right there with you and I know how far the second half can feel. But you look great and I bet you are feeling great. Let that feeling push us through the second half of the journey.
  • Thanks all for the advice. I'l look at New Balance and Keen.
  • Amazing Look How strong you are! How did you handle extra skin?
  • Wow amazing. I hope you don't mind me asking but how is the loose skin situation? I'm coming up on 100 pounds lost in 9 months and I'm struggling with getting my skin to bounce back. I'm trying to lift weights a bit but any tips you have would be appreciated.
  • keep going I swear it gets easier! Someday soon you may love it!
  • Great attitude and success!
  • I'm 74 pounds down and a long way to go but three things stand out so far. 1. I get lots of compliments on my hair. I think people notice a difference in me but aren't sure what it is and my hair (Is it longer? lighter? Shorter?) is the go to. I just change those comments in my mind to "man you look good". 2. None of my…
  • I got this really cool "air fryer" that uses no oil to cook frozen or fresh fries. They still have a fiery high calorie count but it cuts the calories significantly. Alternatively try baking the fries at home in your oven. Cutting the oil keeps them easier to keep in your calorie count.
  • I would like to join! I've not really done a challenge before so I am looking forward to this.
  • Im 5'2 and started at 287. I'm down 62 lbs so far since August. I was completely sedentary couldnt walk to the end of my block when I started. I eat between 1200 and 1400 calories per day and now walk about 7 miles per day (3 in morning 1 midday 3 at night). I eat back about half my excercise caliries and lose a pretty…
  • VictoriusB You have already gotten good advice and taking the first steps are the key so well done you. I will add a few things that have helped me. In August I too couldn't walk to the corner without feeling like I was having a heart attack. I was dangerously close to 300 lbs and I'm just barely 5"1. I remember the first…
