The day of the marathon I had two slices of left over Domino's pizza for breakfast, then 2 bottles of Lucozade and some energy gels, plus water for the entire day... I was unable to eat after the marathon as my teeth were so sensitive. My fiance bought me a muffin but I couldn't even eat that. Drinks were making my teeth…

This basis has been covered. When I think about it, my periods were getting lighter whilst I was on birth control since upping my running. That would be my average consumption and then I would exercise on top. I was advised that my maintenance would be 1800 calories so I try to eat at that on running days and at or…

I have been on it since 14, but then take a year or two break every 4-5 years. I restarted back on it 4 years ago so am now taking a break. I have never had this issue before, however I have only started training properly this year.

I just feel guilty when I eat junk / processed foods, and upping my calories just seems odd to my brain, even though I'll still be in a deficit. Some people have said that to "recomp" you need to eat at maintenance and lift, but maintenance to me is 2200

Are you a complete beginner, and if so, are you following a program like Couch to 5k? It eases you in by breaking up running segments with walking intervals. Don't set out too fast, your run should be slow (some people walk quicker), it's about getting the muscles used to it and building base endurance

Phd for me - love the strawberry delight one and banana, belgian chocolate was ok but nothing special. Mix well using just a mixer ball in a shaker

I mainly run so I have used the Garmin FR35 and FR235 and both were great, but love the advanced features of the FR235

I loved my Nike Zoom Elite 8s so much that I bought a second pair before they were discontinued. Hoping the Elite 9s are just as good when I have run these 2 pairs out. I'm using Nike Revolution 3s for treadmill work as I need less support and don't want to get through my best shoes too quick haha only issue is, I hate…

Treadmill, or just go out in the rain and look forward to a nice hot bath / shower afterwards. Did a 10k race last Sunday and I've never been so wet and cold in my life, but it was great fun! Lots of mud for a road race and lots of puddles to run through, but it was worth it

I'm trying to increase my water intake as I don't drink enough, so I have purchased a Hydrate M8 bottle which shows you how much to drink and when throughout the day. I've made a commitment to go to the gym at least 3 times a week and have entered a 10km race (in 2 weeks time) as motivation to get me to train and workout.…

Phd Diet Whey for me

I went from practically nothing (a few weeks at the gym - 1-2 times a week) to showing up to my local Parkrun in December... it was a hard 5k, and I walked a lot of it - my first 5k time was 46 minutes or so, then week 2 I went again and improved it to 43 minutes, then 41, and now I'm at 40 minutes, hoping to beat it on…

I had the FR35 - basic model with optical HRM, but upgraded to the FR235 as my fiance stole my FR35 and I decided I wanted more features. Both are great.

A pair of Nike Zoom Elite 8s and a Garmin Forerunner 235 :D

Love my Garmin Forerunner 35
-
FR35 here, used it for a few weeks but only just synced to MFP so we'll see how well it syncs after my next workout.

Heard a lot about the Fitbits breaking or having issues with the strap. I went for a Garmin Forerunner 35 - has the features I need and didn't break the bank. The optical HRM seems to work well and saves me from having to worry about wearing a chest strap. I liked the look of the FR235 but couldn't justify the price as I'm…

I've got a Garmin Forerunner 35 as I wanted a HRM without breaking the bank as I wasn't sure I would stick to running. So far I am finding it accurate and a real motivator... wishing I'd spent a little more for the extra features of the FR235 though. I did look at the FR630 but it was pricey and I didn't want to use a…

I recently purchased a Garmin Forerunner 35 - been using it for a few weeks and I love it, gives me motivation to get out and run and monitor my progress. Now that I have running goals and the WANT to be a runner, I wish I'd have bought the model I wanted originally - Forerunner 235. I was looking at the 630 but I don't…

I joined the gym a couple of weeks ago and have already lost a few pounds. Looking at getting into running as I'd like to run a marathon one day. Starting with C25K so looking for other runners - beginner or experienced. Planning on doing a 2K soon, then 5K with a 10K in April and a trail 10K in August :)

I purchased my first HR watch last week - Garmin Forerunner 35 - not sure how much it is in other parts of the world. Does what I need it to do and can be customized. Tracks HR, can be used with a foot pod which is what I do for treadmill, quick GPS lock.

I don't have a Fitbit but I do have a Garmin Forerunner 35 - only had since Friday, but it has really helped to push me. I don't use it to monitor my steps or sleep, instead I use it during my workouts to push me harder and make me actually WANT to go to the gym.

I recently switched from an Android phone to Windows... which in certain cases I regret as I don't have as many useful apps, however it is useful for business documents. I don't have access to MFP app or Runkeeper, MapMyRun, etc on it :/

Thanks for the reply :) the treadmill tracking is just whilst I build up stamina - I'm in pretty bad shape at the minute and a bit self-conscious of running outside - plus it's a warmer retreat for the winter :) I'll have a look at the 310XT.
-
How are you finding it? I'm torn between the TomTom Spark 3 Cardio or the M400 with footpod for treadmills.
-
I can't really justify the price of the FR235 (£220+) at the minute - maybe when I am able to run further and have more confidence and look to really push my training for marathons. The price of the M400 + the footpod is already more than I wanted to spend ideally - I didn't budget in the footpod when I first started…
