This is something I’m working on. I definitely don’t (can’t go to the toilet when I want at work, so I restrict it). I drink loads when I get in. How long does it take the drinking water to help you with cravings?

Brilliant! Thank you!

My new favourite snack/ light lunch: Half an avocado mashed with Greek yoghurt and mixed with chopped chicken. Add salt, pepper and chilli flakes and eat with Melba toast (the cracker things). The avocado and Greek yoghurt give a satisfying creamy tang and enough fat to be satisfying. The chicken gives the protein. The…

Which protein bar do you eat?
-
I’m definitely learning the importance of protein in snacks (nuts offer too much, with not enough bulk, so being careful with these).
-
Thank you for these ideas - they’re great. I think about 200 - 250 calories would be fine (any less just doesn’t do it). I realise I’m also looking at 'mouth food' it’s about texture/ bulk as well as fuel. Plus when I start cooking, I need to have had something satisfying to keep me from snacking. I love the sound of the…

I put some chocolate (that I hadn’t already eaten in one go) in the drawer for another time and didn’t break a bit off to eat.
-
Very, very good point.

I should also add that I’m not interested in neoprene sweating stuff, nor corset-style to look better. I have been recommended compression clothing before, but can’t find anything exactly right. I need stomach flab support to control it until I’ve lost the weight. Imagine a female with a big beer belly (not quite, but…

And if not the waist cincher, what might be a good alternative? Thank you

Nothing wrong with not drinking.

Excellent idea. I have batteries. When I install them, I’ll have play around before going out and buying a new one straight away.
-
I never thought about batteries! I don’t mind the weight being consistently wrong - I can still follow a trend, but when the weight is all over the place, it’s impossible to know what to believe. I’ll also check out the suggestions.

Could this be to do with the heart rate? I’ve noticed on my Fitbit that the 'fat burn' range falls into the slightly raised heart rate (ie walking, but not marching etc) Then a higher heart rate goes to cardio (which is what exercise would fall under) Then peak hart rate (exercise again)

After problems with my back, I realised I had to lose weight first. I lost a stone and suddenly could do more (low impact). As I lose weight, I’ll pick up the exercise. Unfortunately, I was very hungry to start with as I had no exercise calories!
-
I love this forum -it’s so straight talking :D :D
-
I bought a PliYo dvd and I’m sure that one was 'gentle' (exercises harder than you think). I mix it in with the other stuff as I fancy, but have been working on strengthening my core.

Thank you! (Also hoping someone posts a link!)

Taking the heaviest weight each time is the same difference. In a way it does not matter what the scale says, as long as the trend is going down. I only do it to save the fluctuations caused by inaccurate measuring - by taking the lightest/ smallest each time!
-
Or course! I cheat so that (as far as is possible) the fluctuations are down to my body and not also due to dodgy weighing and measuring. I also weigh every morning and use happy scale (sadly a little bit of red is appearing - I’m sure it’s a blip...)

When I get it right, I always eat until I’m full. But I don’t snack in between. So by the time the next meal comes, I’m hungry (properly hungry, not craving hungry). Then I eat until I’m full again. When I’m properly hungry, it’s really easy to judge when to stop eating again. It’s actually rather quite nice to feel…

I think I might have been wooing people instead of liking (the love heart anyway) them! It's not overly clear :-O I thought woo meant yippee! :#

Thank you. Right. Core it is. I've been doing the myrtle routine for flexibility- that has helped. Are there any similar core routines while I try to find a Pilates teacher near me?
-
I've been to the dr after every episode (trying to book the latest appointment). I'm given pain killers and muscle relaxers (naproxen/ diazepam etc). But don't dare take any this time until I've been back in as I've been getting chest pains and I'm certain they're linked. The physio seems to think I'm wasting her time…

Vicious, not viscous!

I think I should join  I'm glad to find people of similar weight/ height. I'm just under 5'4" and 187 lb. I nearly reached my goal, but it's all back on and more. My motivation has gone and my comfort is food, but it needs to come off.

Thank you for your points. Something to think about.

Thank you. At the moment I can't afford counselling due to my lack of decent job :/ . I have thought about it. I've never lost weight without exercising. Food has always been my go to (if it was easy to stop this, I'd be stick thin). Exercise normally suppresses my apetite and boosts my mood so I don't want to eat. I don't…

Not caffeinated, though (not cola) and I drink decaf tea and coffee.

Erm... yes, loads. No alcohol, so this is what I drink instead. Lots of diabetes in the family, so avoiding sugar in drinks.
