I’m fascinated by how much more intense the owl’s gaze is now :D oh, and the abs, of course ;) awesome job!

Awesome @bryonyd4 ! I’m glad I could pass along some of the wisdom that’s been shared with me. Good for you

A few things I see posted on here that help me when I feel like throwing in the towel: If I had a flat tire, would I slash the other three? (One unplanned treat/snack/bite/day over my calorie goal is not a reason to sabotage my goal entirely.) If I quit now I’ll soon be back where I started. When I started, I desperately…

In People magazine there’s a story about. Chrissy Metz. She talks about how when she was young her stepfather would make her get in the scale and then berate her. It might also be in her memoir. Anyway, being pushed onto the scale at such a young age when you are embarrassed by your weight can be hugely traumatic. You…

On the topic of logging diet soda, do those calories add up? I realize there are 0 calories per serving, but if I drank an entire 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke that would be a significant number of calories, wouldn’t it? I’ve had no luck trying to figure this out.

Have someone hide them, and only give you one when you ask.

Just commenting to say I like @drmarctagon’s meditation idea! I bet implementing that bright and early does wonders. I’m going to try it!

I like the conestoga... :p

I keep hearing about this mysterious, elusive wagon people keep falling off of.

Or is it one of these?

I’m currently in my 3rd month of accutane and my period was a week and a half late this month. I’m definitely not pregnant, I pledged abstinence because I definitely did not want to go back on hormonal both control. I’m in the US and it’s required that if you do not use 2 forms of birth control whenever you have sex you…

My heart! Great job!

You look awesome! I just wanted to comment that the new hair is is stunning on you!

Thanks everyone! All of your replies are incredibly helpful! I’m actually 5’ 9”/female currently about 158 lbs trying to get to 150. I have my activity set at sedentary right now because I work a desk job. I work out just about every day for 60-75 minutes. I estimate those calories conservatively I would say. In the last…

I’ve had positive (mostly) experiences with it. I never take the entire thing, I feel like that would kill me. I take 1/4 to 1/2 a day or every other day when I do take it. It helps immensely with my appetite. I’m able to get through the day without thinking too much about food. It really just helps me stay within my…

Thank you, @ccsernica for explaining!

Thanks for your replies. I think the “phen” reminds me of “phen fen,” which may have no similarities whatsoever. Reading about it left a strong impression so I guess that’s what I relate it to.

That was my initial feeling about it too. Although “hug” is growing on me.

Often I read posts and I just think, “who would woo this?”

This is me the week before I start my period. Maybe it’s related to your cycle. I allow myself to eat up to maintenance if I need it.
-
I weigh every few days. I also track my cycle on another app so when I see my weight go up a few pounds I can look at where I am in my cycle. Seeing that I’m ovulating or that it’s the week before my period begins helps me to freak out less. Good luck!

I rarely post anything here but I have to say I’m proud of you! I remember some of your older posts had me feeling concerned for your well-being and you sound like you’ve reached a much healthier mindset. I’m sure you will reach your goals. I’m so happy for you!!
-
Good points. I don’t often use oils/dressings so I forget how quickly those calories can add up!
-
@jruzer I’d like to hear what your sons have told you that makes this less shocking to you. 300-400 calorie difference seems ridiculous to me. :)
-
@timtam163 do you have any good podcast recommendations?
-
I'd wait until after my period to weigh next. Save myself the mental torment.

Addiction is rarely clearly defined. Hence the entire premise of Addictions Counseling.
-
@cmriverside I'm glad someone has the same view on this. Having struggled with addiction (and gone to treatment), I know that denying the physiological component of these kinds of things actually makes it harder for us to consciously change our behaviors. If I hadn't been taught about the way my body physically responds…

If people can be addicted to gambling, sex, drugs, etc, why is it so hard to accept that someone can be addicted to consuming sugar? They all cause reactions inside the body that release hormones that make us feel good, therefore we keep going back to that thing that gives us that feeling. People can be addicted to sugar…

...so...don't speak up for what you strongly believe is wrong? Or try to educate someone who is misinformed?
