I wish there was a “woo” button for the “woo” button. Anybody else have that reaction?

Often I read posts and I just think, “who would woo this?”2

I always wonder who would hug a post.15

I honestly can't believe mfp created such a negative reaction, and took away "awesome." I'm hoping they'll wise up eventually.9

That’s all I want out of life
Then it's settled. @4legsRbetterthan2 make it happen.1 -
I can't believe how many people wanted a hug button. But honestly, I can't believe how many threads there have been talking about this damn woo button. Just deal with it at this point. I mean, lets be honest, people use it enough.1

If people didn't want it, people wouldn't use it. That's all I'm saying.1 -

And for the record you dont want me anywhere near the mfp coding, that would be the end of everything....1 -
And I miss awesome too. I liked woo at first but not such a fan of all the confusion and issues ot has caused.1

Thanks for clarifying. I had images of conspiracy in my head but I'm now I'm soothed . But how do you get an awesome option and I don't? It doesn't show up on my screen.
I know this is a great opportunity for my MFP Premium shtick but I was just messing around with the dev tools in Google Chrome.0 -
At first woo was fun to me. I used it as in if your post was sassy or brazen or clever I'd "woo" it. Since they changed the picture I don't feel as good about it. I am truly at a loss for reactions now, hug is kinda icky, but I'm using it instead of awesome. Like is too basic for a lot of things but I've been reduced to choosing reactions that don't feel true.

What if somebody says "Hey, I've been loosing all this weight and I think I look GREAT in these spandex pants. What do you think?" And then 27 passive aggressive "don't like"s show up at the bottom of her post.
These discussion forums used to be button free and you had to actually type out what you wanted to say and get full credit for it in front of everyone.
They're slowly turning MFP into Facebook and it's changed the whole culture of the discussions and the level of support and interaction.
Look at the Success stories threads. Since the advent of voting buttons, people no longer voice their support with actual words and interactions. Somebody can toil away here for years at MFP and then finally post their success story with 100+ pounds lost with pictures. Now there'll be 10 typed out replies and 100 anonymous hug or like votes with no interaction or verified acknowledgement. There used to be 110 typed out responses and it was a lot better that way because it lent to the impression of an interactive community where people actually expressed their thoughts in sentences or at least slogans.
^^AWESOME^^ Very well said!
Same for your newsfeed. The introduction of the 'like' button put an end to friends actually commenting on your statuses. It ruined MFP of the very thing it was intended for - SUPPORT & MOTIVATION!1 -

Meh. What they need is a “Bang” button so we could cut down on half yhe posts saying that in long drawn iuts threads of conversation. Or a “Get a room” button. Thise would be more acceptable and useful.2 -
Wait. Woo's are bad? Some people drop legit info and still get wooed?!0
