  • 4.8km speed up run last night per request of de Garmin. There was actually some cool breeze, although I still looked like I'd just been fished out of the river by the end of it. @quilteryoyo happy belated birthday!
  • 3.2km last night. It was hot and slow, and Garmin thinks I have "room to grow". :|
  • I got new shoes. The 3.2km easy run last night was faster. Dunno if it was me or the shoes. Probably the shoes. @shanaber Happy anniversary! @Teresa502 I am so envious of your temperatures :D @yirara Sorry to hear but a diagnosis is good? Is there anything they can do about it?
  • Another 4.8km speed up run tonight. Halfway through, the whole running thing suddenly... made more sense. It was like my body woke up and was like, oh we're running now? why didn't you say so? I should've known I'm turning back into a runner when I woke up this morning and wanted to buy new shoes. :D @Scott6255 congrats on…
  • 4.8km speed up run last night (3.2km easy + 1.2 tempo + 400m threshold). It wasn't all that hot but I still downed an entire 1L bottle of sports drink at the end of it :| @quilteryoyo lovely little ladies and awesome sunset! @AmunahSki Welcome! sounds like you're doing great. A lot of people find it difficult to find a…
  • 3.2km last night. It was one of those days when it wants to rain but just stubbornly won't, and it felt like I was running through hot soup. Bleh. Got it done and not much else. re: morning runs - they would be awesome if I could get up regularly but have yet to be consistent for any significant length of time. Y'all who…
  • Got a 4km run last night as requested by the watch. It had been raining all day so the temp was a nice cool 20C (68F). Run was a good bit faster than the previous ones, which proves that my current speed, or lack of which, is not entirely because I'm out of shape :D
  • 3.2km easy run last night. Was still 32C (90F) at 9pm so I just sucked it up and went out. Went better than expected - finally hitting the point where I feel like I'm actually training, and not plodding along like an elephant. Garmin gives me another 3.2km easy run on Saturday and a 5km negative split run on Sunday.…
  • hi guys. i think i'm really back this time - no more running two or three times and falling off the wagon once again. already finished a 10 week 5k plan from my garmin, who not only yells at me when i'm not doing my runs, but also gives very sneaky prescriptions (15 minute warm up, 4 reps of 30 second pace work, 10 minute…
  • easing back into running veeery slowly. let's say 30km for May. it was just barely raining and 15 degrees this morning. my favorite kind of running weather. it was like the running gods decided to welcome me back to the fold. (hopefully they'll give me a few less 30+ degrees at dawn days this year.) went for a jog. twas…
  • Hello you wonderful crazy people! Caught the Rona early December and didn't feel up to any running since then, so I've been sitting on my backside. Planning on getting back into it with a modified C25K starting next week. Also stumbled on this vid on YT today. Thought this group would enjoy it.…
  • I'm back! Been a while. It's getting too cold for cycling so I put away the bike for winter, and finally finally I got so antsy that I convinced my lazy self that running would be a good idea. 3km to start turning back into a runner.
  • I really needed to hear that today. A few weeks ago, just as I was preparing to get back into running, I fell off the wall funny during a bouldering session and pulled something. (I was lucky - saw somebody in a forum that had fallen the same way and ended up needing surgery and three months bed rest.) Anyway I was feeling…
  • hey everyone. hope you're all doing ok. i'm trying very hard to get back into running but it's not the easiest thing to do in the middle of summer. my cardio seems ok from all the cycling i've been doing, and my strength is back to about 85% of my peak performance so it's probably the weather that's making the runs feel so…
  • another scrappy run last night, 2.5km again. it was 33 degrees out and i was dripping by the end of 1km :D looked like i had just fished myself out of a pool by the end of it. great fun. i'm quite enjoying this running thing. also took my nephew to his first pump track outing on his tiny little balance bike yesterday. i…
  • First run in three months! It was, as expected, slow and crappy. 2.5km done. Hoping to get back on the train this time.
  • *waves enthusiastically back*
  • @quilteryoyo @shanaber I'm alive and kicking! Thanks for thinking about me. Been cycle commuting 3 or 4 times a week and nothing is sore anymore. Also got one of those roller things to cycle indoors, but can't balance enough to let go of the doorframe yet. Super busy at work so I haven't had the mental energy to pick up…
  • Thanks for the well wishes! It's raining today so pollen count is down. Now sneezing less than a million times every hour and can breathe somewhat, life is good again. Still not feeling like eating much, but I'm kind of grazing / eating 6 mini meals and that seems to be working for me. @CMorning99 Congrats on not being…
  • It's been warming up and my seasonal allergies are flaring up. This year it's also killing my appetite. Yay? Maybe I can leverage it to cut down my intake. @CMorning99 That sergeant sounds like several people I know - including the head of a team at my client's company. Working under her, now that would be fun.…
  • I made a thing. I've been trying to eat only my prepped meals but it's been warming up so I've started cycling to work again. Which means an hour of light cardio every day... jeez the hunger. I know from experience that 1) it's not going to last forever and 2) weight loss is pretty much inevitable with the extra activity…
  • hi everyone. found my way back here after more eating and lying around than i would like to admit. spring is coming, allergies kept me awake until 3am last night, and allergies was what got me into running in the first place, so here i am. been reading through the posts and y'all are so inspiring.
  • 0101-2.3km 20:23 141bpm 0105-4.5km 38:37 149bpm The run on New Year's Day was yuck, which was probably why I cut it short and went home. Today's was much better. The first 2km were pretty much a crawl, but around 20 minutes in my body suddenly looked at me and exclaimed, "We're running? Well why didn't you tell me so?!"…

Also found a nice dirt path yesterday, might incorporate it into future runs when I go that direction. Also merry late Christmas everyone!

Finally felt like I was actually training, instead of plodding along until I was tired. @rheddmobile Hope you and DH feel better soon! That cold sounds horrid. @polskagirl01 I love…
  • 1204-3km 27:05 aHR 144 1206-3.24km 30:00 aHR 146 1213-2.53km 21:54 aHR 148 1218-3.2km 30:00 aHR 157 Heart rate was high today, probably because it was stupid windy and cold. Got new shoes. I was a tad worried because they have a big mesh on the front but my feet were toasty the whole way. I wanted 4km but my knee started…
  • 1204-3km 27:05 aHR 144 1206-3.24km 30:00 aHR 146 1213-2.53km 21:54 aHR 148 Was super busy last week so missed a few runs. Eh. Life happens. Last night's run started out pretty good, there was around 200 meters where I felt like I was actually running instead of crawling along. But going in tiny circles around the block…
  • 1204-3km 27:05 aHR 144 1206-3.24km 30:00 aHR 146 Yeehaw. Felt a bit more like my body knew what it was doing on this run. It was weirdly not cold for this time of year, I forgot my gloves and turned out I didn't really need them. The plan is to run three times a week / every other day, building to 5km by the end of the…
  • Happy birthday @shanaber and @Scott6255 ! Wishing you both a great year of running!
  • 1204-3km 27:05 aHR 144 First run in about a year. Not sure what happened, but yesterday something in my head rolled over and made me go for it. I'm glad I'm not entirely out of shape since I've been lifting semi-regularly, but the cardio has apparently suffered as can be seen from my snail pace. Legs aren't sore at all…
