Got up a little late this morning, but it was nice to see it getting light about halfway through my run. Did 7 miles, but only felt good after mile 5. But that is better than nothing

@Zaxa2021 There's a saying that "The only run you regret is the one you didn't do." Keep up the good work.
You did great to hang in there where you weren't feeling it this morning @Scott6255 .
Interesting @TheMrWobbly . I guess I live a sheltered life. I had not idea the term could be considered racist.6 -
May 1 – 5.05 miles
May 2 – 1.01 miles
6.06/75 miles
This morning, I went to a Sunrise Circuit class offered by our fitness organization at work. It started at 6:30 am when it was 46F. The class is outside so I arrived a few minutes early and got a mile run in so that I could warm up.
@AlphaHowls – You continue to amaze and inspire!
@quilteryoyo – Are you playing tennis Saturday morning? There is a 5K (May the Course Be with You) at Greeneville Middle School at 8:00 am to benefit their cross country team. Our track club was hired from timing and finish line management and I’ve volunteered to help with it.
@Zaxa2021 – This group keeps me challenged and motivated to get out there on days when I really need it. I can just come here and read about all the activities and it helps immensely. Glad you found us.

@Teresa502 I am not playing tennis, but we are having an after league party at one of the players homes at noon. I had forgotten about that 5K - it was on my radar. I need to check out the timing and see if I can do both. Thanks for reminding me. I am glad to see that your short run reported on your newsfeed was because you were warming up and not because you had gotten injured or something,

@AlphaHowls Congratulations on 5 years! That is so awesome, especially considering the mileage you are currently doing. Just amazing! You are really inspiring!
@Zaxa2021 Welcome!
@Scott6255 I’m glad to hear you could end your run on a positive note, even though you weren’t feeling it for most of the way! I hope it’s easier for you tomorrow!
Today I went for an easy 8.1km run. The hamstring on my right leg has been bothering me a bit since completing some intervals shortly after my bike race. I think I over did it a bit there. I am hoping by just running easy for the rest of the week, rolling out the area with a foam roller and getting enough sleep that it will be fine for my races on Saturday. I really was going for fast times there, but I will have to see if my body is up for it. Fingers crossed! The main thing is avoiding an injury, so if I run slower on Sunday, I run slower.
April kms 19.2/200.7 -
Nice running @Laurz9191 . I hope the easy runs will allow your hamstring to heal and you can run as you had planned on Sat. But, I love your attitude if you can't. Very sensible.
Today's planned called for 5 x quarter mile intervals. I wasn't sure how it would go, as I'm not feeling the best. I managed to run the fast intervals at 6.0 mph and walked the recovery ones at 3.8 mph. The last quarter mile recovery I did as part of my half mile cool down walk. So, the avg pace for the intervals was 12:32 min/mile. Avg HR was 128, with a max of 152 bpm.

May Goal: 115 Miles
5/1: 5.26 miles
5/2: 6.22 miles
11.48/115 miles completed for May
I was tired last night and I noticed today that I had some pretty bad typos in my post yesterday. I did not run 53.26 miles yesterday. 🤪
I did run 6.2 miles today. It was another lovely morning. I got out a little earlier so it was dark for more of my run than yesterday. But it was still light about halfway through. I felt like I could run forever.

Starting the new month. My 5K race is coming up Saturday May 13th
May Running Goal: 13 runs, 44 miles- May 2 - 3.34 miles
9 -
And I thought you had popped in a Ultra because you were bored on a Tuesday afternoon @kgirlhart
Still wouldn't mind being a mile behind you! Loving the inspiration I am getting from all of you
On the plus side the chaffing seems to have eased up a bit.6 -
Completed 8.1Km at recovery pace this morning. I haven't run at that pace in forever and I am glad that I did. It was very relaxing. I think it was also good for my injured hamstring, to have lower impact running. After my run I spent 10 minutes stretching (which I never do but will make a priority at least until my leg gets better). The trees are all in bloom and everything is green and gorgeous outside. It was a great morning to be outside!
So far for May 27.4/200km .

I'm going to aim for 50 miles this month but not fully confidante I'll manage it, but hey, have to try!
Last Saturday was probably the wettest I've ever gotten on a run. It was spitting a little when I set out but I thought it would probably only be a little shower. I got drenched, it rained most of the run and I stopped twice to wring out the front of my top. A neighbor lady who used to run stopped in her car and said it brought happy memories back to her seeing me running in the rain. That helped keep me going. Luckily it wasn't cold or windy.
02/05 3.30 miles
Total 3.30/50 miles

@kgirlhart Love it when I have that kind of run. You are doing awesome.
@chris_in_cal Looking forward to hearing about how your race goes. You are going to kill it.
I'm glad your knee is doing better @spl8 !
@Mari33a Setting a goal that is a challenge is great! You can do it. I don't often run in the rain, but the most fun I had on a run was when it was raining one summer. I started singing, "I'm running in the rain" and dancing around like Gene Kelly. If anyone saw me, they probably thought I was a crazy women.7 -
May 1 – 5.05 miles
May 2 – 1.01 miles
May 3 – 5.12 miles
11.18/75 miles
It was 45F and very breezy during this morning’s run. Luckily the headwind was on the out and we caught the tailwind coming back!
@kgirlhart – Apparently we were all tired yesterday because no one commented on your 53.26 mile run!
7 -
@kgirlhart you inspired me with your "felt like I could run forever" comment yesterday. I have had MAYBE a handful of runs that felt like that over the years, but couldn't remember the last time that happened. So went out this morning for 7 miles with that in mind. It wasn't quite as easy as that, but it had it's moments Thanks for the inspiration!!

03.05 Wed 13°C 3.5km 32min 9:05/km
total: 3.5/0km (3.5km ahead)
After a fab 6km run at the end of last month I tried to repeat this. 10 minutes in my HR was at 180. Oops. This clearly didn't go too well for some reason. Decided to call it a day after 3.5km. Then, on the walk back home I remembered I got a tetanus booster this morning. Ah yes. Even though I've totally forgotten it it still seems to kick *kitten* Tomorrow is another day6 -

Well that was a typo. 115 miles.4 -
May total: 9/115 miles
5/2: 9 miles
All I can really say about this run is that I got it done. I was upper 60's and 99% humidity. Just the absolute worst. I was soaked with sweat. I stopped a couple of times to take pictures of the area and some animals and then mixed in a few 15-20 sec walk breaks on the back half just to let my HR come back down a little.
I had a massage scheduled yesterday afternoon, and it was glorious after the miserable run.
This is the view at the river overlook There were quite a few rabbits out and only 1 snake9 -
easing back into running veeery slowly. let's say 30km for May.
it was just barely raining and 15 degrees this morning. my favorite kind of running weather. it was like the running gods decided to welcome me back to the fold. (hopefully they'll give me a few less 30+ degrees at dawn days this year.) went for a jog. twas painfully slow, but got to chat with a nice lady with bright pink hair and a mini poodle.
2.5km/30km goal10 -

But here humidity is an abstraction. We ride in the teens and twenties.
Another despoiler of paradise is the snake. No thanks.
I know California is a mean horrible dirty nasty crowded place that everyone is leaving, but we don't have bugs or humidity.

May Goal: 115 Miles
5/1: 5.26 miles
5/2: 6.22 miles
5/3: 5.26 miles
16.74/115 miles completed for May
I ran 5.25 miles this morning. It was warm and humid and is starting to feel like summer. It was uneventful, but I enjoyed it. I just love when it isn't dark for the entire run. I don't mind running in the dark, but I really love when it is just getting light.

May goal: 50 miles
5/1: 2 miles
5/3: 2 miles
May Miles Completed: 4/50
I'm happy with this. I'm planning to start increasing mileage next week, but this is a good start for me.9 -
Hi @noblsheep! Welcome back 🤗0

@martaindale Nice pictures! I am sure the humidity and the heat are difficult to get through, but you did it!!!!
@chris_in_cal True, no major bugs or humidity in Ca, but I still would never move back , at least half due to the traffic... I will be there in July/August though .
@noblsheep Sounds like you got off to a good start! Welcome back!
I ran 9.2km this morning. It was just beautiful out. I did get a bug in my eye , but other than that, just a gorgeous run. My leg still has definite issues, so no pushing the pace, but I ran at base pace today instead of recovery pace and did stretches afterwards. I really don't think my muscles have enough time to recover from whatever injury I inflicted upon them before Sunday, but I am doing what is in my power and enjoying being outside during springtime (best time of year in Germany)! Hope you guys all have a great day!
7 -
@yirara I hope it was the shot that made your run so "hard" yesterday. Does it help if you slow down or take walk breaks? I hope today's run goes better for you.
@martaindale You did great. Love the pictures! You can "see" the humidity, so I know that was miserable to run in.
Welcome back @noblsheep . Slow and easy is the way to get back into running.
@Laurz9191 Sounds like you are doing great taking it easy so your muscles can recover.
Great running everyone else. I liked or hugged. Just trying to catch up on the feed this morning.
2 -
No running today. My HR and stress levels are still high according to my Garmin watch. I better wait another day6
-
@Laurz9191 sounds like a good plan for Sunday. Springtime in Germany sounds wonderful!
@yirara not sure I would trust your watch 100% to tell you how you feel, but it is smart to take an extra day to rest if you aren't feeling it.
I got in another 7 miles this morning. Nothing notable to speak of.
May the 4th be with you all!!
9 -
@noblsheep welcome back!
I finally went for a run this morning. It was hot, it was hard, but it was awesome to finally be ruuning again. While I approve of coach's strict post A race recovery schedule, it's frustrating to sit it out.8 -
Nice run @eleanorhawkins .
I didn't post yesterday, due to internet issues, again. I know you are tired of hearing about that. Imagine how tired I am of dealing with it.
Yesterday I did a 2.5 mile recovery run - keeping my HR mostly between 120 and 130 bpm. Today, I was frustrated about a lot of things going on, plus I knew I would be mowing mom's lawn later, so I did a wun on the treadmill. I only ran enough to keep my HR above 100, mostly. Total of 2 miles today and 3.5 miles yesterday. Nothing remarkable about either of those.
