Today was one of those days actually. After a weekend of too much bbqing and too little sleep/running, I felt pretty lethargic but I know it is important for my marathon training and for my own mental health to get longer runs in when work/life allows, and I managed 14.4km that weren’t of the sort @Teresa502 mentioned - I definitely did not feel like I could run forever! But I got it done, and the weather was perfect. I did spend a considerable amount of effort dodging slugs and some dead mice (gross). I guess I could look up more while running and not focus so much on the ground, but the thought of running right over the slugs and whatever else is laying around on the path always grosses me out.

This is so freaky. I saw a dead mouse during my run yesterday also. I don't recall ever seeing one before. What is up with that?

That is really weird. I saw a dead mouse one day last week too and I've never seen a dead mouse on a run before.

    You're doing great @yirara .

Great running @kgirlhart . Glad you had a great Mother's Day. I do the same things when it comes to buying new shoes.

Great running @martaindale . I'm glad you didn't have any flooding and fingers crossed that next year school will be better for everyone.

Great running @Teresa502 ! I love the cow pictures and your comments about them. I'm glad the owner was able to get the calf back in the field. I'm glad you felt like you could go forever. I'm sure part of that feeling is psychological...most anything involving running is.

@spl8 Slow and steady is the way to go!

A 10K in high humidity is tough @Scott6255 ! Glad today's last mile was good. Too bad it took 7 miles to warm up.

You're doing great @Laurz9191 . I wouldn't want to step on slugs or dead mice either!

Great goal @chris_in_cal ! Look forward to hearing how you do with the plan.

It is kinda freaky about all the dead mice you guys are seeing.

@TheMrWobbly Glad you are ending your day with a smile. If week 5 seems too hard for you, repeat week 4 and then go on. Unless you have a race planned on the day you finish, that isn't going to hurt a thing and may prevent an injury.

I'm glad you love your car @katharmonic ! It's funny what our dogs will do when we decide to be firm with them. BTW, it's the same with daycare kids. Sounds like your recovery is going great! Makes me happy.

Great running @martaindale . I hope you can enjoy come rainy runs without lightening.

Nice @chris_in_cal . I can feel how excited you are about returning to running.

@Scott6255 I love your 6 mile warm up. It is weird that the pain went away with hard effort. I wonder if your gait changed. I sometimes have a pain in my knee when walking, but as soon as I start to run, it goes away. Just plain weird.

Nice running @Laurz9191 . That sounds like a beautiful place to run. I hope your hamstrings get better with some easy running.

Nice running @Teresa502 . Your comment about the mice tickled me.

@yirara If I am reading your post correctly, it looks like todays walk/run was an overall faster pace than you've had all month. That's exciting. I hope you got all the things you need before the supermarket closed.

Yes, it was faster :D Just beating my previous slow pace with a slightly faster pace convinced me to do a few more intervals instead of stopping at 3km :D And yes, I got what I needed from the super: Tea, more tea, and chocolate. With wet and sweaty hair. Phew.

@polska_girl Your photos look like what the landscape looks like here now. I'm not sure whether I'm allergic to them, but they can go. Just in case. My pollen allergy has never lasted this long :D (nah, it's not rapeseed but an early tree pollen, which due to the long winter still sticks around).

Btw, do you also have such crazy weather? Tonight it will be close to freezing, and during the weekend close to 30C. That's just crazy! I know El Nino, which is currently starting to form (probably) in the southern Pacific has very little influence here, but when it forms Western/Central Europe does get this crazy weather in spring time.

Cool, yesterday was my 'baseline' run, I think all the plans start that way to initiate how they create for future workouts.

Was a baseline run, so only 2 min WU/CD, with 5 min Hard effort

Like you, two minutes isn't enough of a warm up for me, so I walked about twenty minutes, then started their baseline workout.

I hope it works out for you. Coaching and structure are always good, just most of us rebel and don't like it. :)
