Hey @tarun_yadavA great to see you again! Glad you were able to go for a run after 4 weeks and it didn't really hurt! I know it's hard, but don't push it.

@Scott6255 thanks! ... No, not gonna push it. Thinking nothing more than maybe a mile-and-a-half every 3 or 4 days. Won't even look at pace. And not cancelling Gym membership either!6 -
@kgirlhart Great running and love the pictures. So pretty.
@polskagirl01 I hope you are feeling better soon. I love that you were able to "pretend" you were running. Are you back in the US yet? You're pictures are amazing and that newest contraption looks interesting. I hope it helps.
@chris_in_cal I tore my gastroc muscle playing tennis a few years back, then tore it again when I stepped in a hole in my yard before it completely healed. Every once in a while I will have a pain in that area when I am running and fear I have done something to it again. So, I guess I am in the post-traumatic injury club with you.
@Mari33a I'm glad you made yourself get out for a run and it went better than you expected. Often the hardest part of the run is getting out the door.
Glad to see that you got in a short run and it felt ok-ish @tarun_yadavA .

@yirara Yes to the crazy weather here in south-central Poland! Remind me where you're located? It's been cold and rainy all week. Hoping for a nicer weekend.
@quilteryoyo Not yet. School here goes to the end of June, then the kids and I are heading to Pennsylvania for 2 months. I'm really hoping it will be restful.
I was feeling OK-ish this morning and repeated yesterday's walk route. Well, I went one driveway further before turning around. My wet jacket from yesterday was hanging in the basement/garage still wet, and now stinky, but I wore it anyway and then threw everything into the wash. Ewww. Almost like running LOL.
I'm tired of this quilt and haven't had too much trouble lately with sitting upright, so I'm trying to finish it.This was someone's grandmother's unfinished quilt top. I honestly don't even like it (the colors & fabric designs are too random/clashy for me), and am not even sure what I'm going to do with it, but hopefully I'll like it better once it's done. It's been in the frame, wrapped up in storage off and on, since before we moved in 2021. I just need to get it done and move on to other things.5 -

Kind of central-ish Germany. I swear, I nearly put the heating on this morning!

Oh I was considering telling my husband to just go start the furnace. This is supposed to be May!1 -

It was another lovely morning. I ran 5 miles. I would have liked to run more, but I just didn't get up and get going as well today as I did yesterday so I didn't have time. I even went to bed earlier last night than the night before, but I was still kind of dragging. The run was nice though. The weather was good and the sky was pretty. I just love running as the sun is coming up.
@tarun_yadavA Glad you were able to get out for a run!

I paused my Garmin somewhere along my route this morning so my mileage is a guesstimate but I think it is fairly close. Maybe a tad on the conservative side. It was 10 degrees cooler this morning at 51F. I wore capris and a short sleeve shirt but wore sleeves for the first couple of miles before I stashed them in my mailbox.
Glad you got your new car @katharmonic!
Welcome back to the runner’s circle @tarun_yadavA!
Beautiful fields and beautiful @polskagirl01! Good to see you! Looks like you are doing a great job with the quilt. When I was young, my sister and I used to help my mom cut out squares for quilting. She would sew them together on her trusted Singer and then she would either quilt them by hand or have someone with a commercial machine do it. Good memories.
Love the sunrise and moon pictures @kgirlhart. Have you seen Sunny lately? Do I recall that they were going to tear down his house?

@tarun_yadavA Welcome back! It sounds like you have a good plan for easing back into running. I’m hoping for your quick recovery!
@yirara I am in central Germany .
@polskagirl01 I hope that leg contraption helps! It really sounds like you are doing everything in your power and going outside in running clothes is something I have done too on occasion when I can’t run for wherever reason, even though I would really like to.
Today was a holiday here and I couldn’t run, but I did go on a long walk with the kids to a place with gliders and lots of cows .5 -

That's the 3rd run of the week done. I need put in some proper effort to do more stretching as I'm getting really stiff.

Absolutely. I now notice every little twinge in my calves. Is that my Achilles? No, it feels like it's off to the side a bit. IDK, maybe it is the Achilles. On and on for several minutes until it usually just works itself out.
Happy to see you got a little run in without too much pain @tarun_yadavA. Hopefully you'll be back to normal soon. It's good you have kept up the gym in the meantime.2 -

Muggy. That's it.
Then I came home to discover that the tree trimmers, who also pulled some dead citrus trees for us, cut a sprinkler line. And our AC stopped working overnight. It better be an easy fix because that unit is maybe 5 years old, was stupid expensive, and gets regular maintenance. Fingers crossed the house is cool by the time I get home. Then got to work and our main computer system is down so everything is taking twice as long to do and I can't dictate reports on any of the studies I read today until it comes back up. It has been a day.
I went to pilates yesterday and it was heavier on the arms than usual. I was happy about that as I lost a lot of upper body definition when I stopped climbing regularly. Today, I am feeling it. Definitely a good workout. A woman from my work also goes to the same location and we have started meeting up when our schedules line up. It's nice to have a workout buddy.7 -
@Martaindale - Thanks for the feedback on CrossFit. The closest Lagree studio near me is almost half hour away, so I know I won't do that. My main goal, I think is to build muscle. Running is my favorite exercise and I do yoga for my mental health, but I don't think it's enough for maintaining overall fitness, and I need some form of resistance training that will be intense (i.e. not take up tons of time) and motivating. Not sure if CrossFit will fit the bill.
@Scott6225 - You did a baseline run after a six mile run? I don't think that's how those training plans are supposed to work.😉
I got myself some Hoka One One Cliftons for running on streets (going maximalist to balance out my minimalist trail shoes) and took them for a 5K spin yesterday. Heaven!

It's a sharp moment when it's either nothing and it will go away in five minutes....or not.
I had a break for nearly two years after knee issues. Every run is like "oh no, another twinge". I haven't got an answer other than the more I run the less it seems to be at the front of my mind. It is really important to listen to your body - I wish I didn't ignore it as often as I do!1 -
@Martaindale - Thanks for the feedback on CrossFit. The closest Lagree studio near me is almost half hour away, so I know I won't do that.
This cracked me up. My studio is about 4 miles and 20 minutes away. A fast runner could run that distance faster than I can drive it. I drive 8 miles to work and it takes me 30 mins during the school year. 8 miles. In Houston a 30 min drive is close. But, it's all relative and 30 mins is a long drive for you. I envy those who don't have to drive 30 minutes minimum to get places.2 -

@Martindale Sorry about the rough day. I sure hope the AC is fixed soon.

I even have bags of perfect squares other people cut and never used. I sort of have plans for them, maybe, someday 🤣 It's actually a good sign that my brain is happy to think about quilt designs without wanting to just shut down and watch dumb videos all day.
It's not raining today. I think I can do a short walk outside again 🙂11 -

Is the traffic in Houston that bad? Ugh! That must make you nuts. It's pretty bad here on Long Island, too, and most places require 15-20 minutes minimum, and when I say something is 30 mins away that's without traffic (which could easily bump it up to 45 mins). That said, my life is fairly circumscribed because I get so little time to myself and have to stay relatively close to home because of my epileptic autistic child who requires 24-7 supervision, so I can't commit to doing anything regularly that requires that much driving.5 -

@polskagirl01 Hahaha about walking in your stinky coat helping you feel like you are running. You have a great attitude and you went one driveway further! I can see why the quilt isn't your favorite design, but the fact that your grandmother started it still makes it precious. If you really don't like it, maybe it would make a good wedding gift to whichever kid gets married first. I'm sure you are looking forward to a nice relaxing vacation.
Glad you had a nice run @kgirlhart!
I hate it when I do that @Teresa502 . It was a bit nippy this morning. Great running.
@Laurz9191 Love the pictures, esp of the cow. Looks like a great place for a walk/hike.
@yirara Great job with your running. Having fun will help you be consistent.
@Zaxa2021 Sounds like you are doing great to me.
Hugs @martaindale . You did have a day yesterday. I hope the AC was an easy fix.
@spl8 Glad you love your new shoes.
That's a long run in the rain @AlphaHowls ! You just continue to find new ways to amaze me.

May 19: Walk 2.00 miles
May 20: Walk 1.00 mile, Run 1.00 mile - helped mom plant garden for 1.5 hours
Mom and I went to our neighbor's baby dedication this morning and then bought seeds mom wanted for the garden. We came home and I talked her into letting me help her plant them, since they were calling for rain/storms this afternoon. We didn't get it all done before I got the text that the Hughes Net (satellite internet) technician was on the way. Good news is - IT WORKS! He got finished with the installation about 4:30. It isn't quite as fast as I fantasized that it would be, but it is much better than what I had before and is going to be reliable, I hope. That is the most important thing to me right now.
After the technician left, I was tired and hungry, so decided to do a short workout before I ate. I walked half a mile, ran a mile, and walked another half. I ran the mile faster, since it was only a mile - pace was 11:42 min. My avg HR was 143 with a max of 158 bpm.
I can't seem to get the ticker to work today. Month to date total is 52.5 miles run/fast walking.

Good morning All,
I am impressed by everyone taking the trials that come their way and so happy to see everyone taking steps forward.
The sun is shining with me and wk 5 of C25K is going well. Tomorrow should be the first time in 2 years I run a mile without any walking,
Have a great Sunday everyone!
