The psychological desire to eat for comfort when I'm not physically hungry.

My daughter keeps my scale and "lets" me weigh myself once a week; she' a tough one, doesn't matter what excuse I give, she keeps me to once a week. Helps me look a the bigger weekly trend.

Been eating keto for years. Personally, I find keto wonderful. It is exceptionally easy for me to stick to--even with work, kids, grandkids, traveling, eating out, celebrations, and lots of food phobias. Lots of folks here seem to have strong anti-keto feelings. I'm surprised not to see graphs posted about "fad diets" and…

Nosy questions...T1D or T2D? And did your MD tell you no to keto in particular? Generally TCR is the most effective method for managing T2D and its sequela and has its place in controlled, compliant T1D as well.

paperpudding, In the words of of the great Inigo Montoyo, "I don't think that means what you think it means."

Dear paperpudding, Deprived by definition means suffering from the loss of something. I don't smoke cigarettes because I don't want to; am I depriving myself? Am I suffering for the lack of cigarettes? That's silly. I don't eat most meats because I don't want to; the thought grosses me out. I didn't eat them long before…

I've eaten keto for years. I just plain feel better. I have been on so many diets over the years...shakes, points, cards, injections, and just plain CICO. None of them resonated with me the way keto does. I never have nightmares about not eating bread; I do have nightmares about being forced to eat meat...I never eat swine…

google keto macro calculator; put in your height, weight and rate of loss you're aiming for and it will spit out macros for you. I've been eating keto for years with 60% fat, 30% protein and 10% carbs.

My mom has always joked that she went from a 36C to a 36 Long after children. I gained weight for years, seven children/5 pregnancies, breast fed for years and years. At my heaviest, I was a 40DD. 118lbs pounds down and counting, needing to trade in a 34B/C for a smaller band size soon. Saggy heavy, saggy thinner. I also…

Just curious---what's the dislike about? That I don't eat breads/grains or that I feel better not eating them?
-
As a general rule: none. Haven't for about 3 1/2 years. I simply feel much better without those carbs.

I'm in. Level 3-15lbs. Challenge Starting Weight: 165 Challenge Level: 3 Challenge Goal weight: 150 2/19: 165--well, at least no gain. 2/26: 164--on the road again!

have you tried a chaffle? Super simple to make, endless varieties. I eat them all the time. I typically drown mine in walden's syrup when I'm having them as a breakfast food.

This nurse meal preps and drinks tea thru out the shift. I also walk on my breaks (when I get them) and make an effort to walk the long way where ever I go.

Simply beautiful.

I'm making sugar free jello, strawberry or raspberry, in some heart shaped cupcake silicon molds. I plan to top them with a dallop of home made whip cream. You could always add cocoa powder to the whip cream or shave a couple of decorative swirls on top.

Hunger is a physiological state. Anxious is a feeling. Many people confuse their emotions with hunger. The most simplistic explanation being that eating gives instant gratification. This is maladaptive coping. It can be unlearned; babies instinctively understand to eat when they are hungry and stop when they are full. I…

I think everyone tends to make this overly complicated with their graphs and long lectures. If you are hungry, eat them back. If you're not, don't.

I did exactly this for exactly the same reasons. I still drink 2 or 3 cups of coffee with half and half each morning and a cup with dinner. During the day, I switched to herbal teas.

Never really noticed this commercial until the "controversy" hit the news; even then it only caught my attention because I had just told my spouse that a new squat rack was on my xmas wish list.

Nah....I don't believe it. No one; male, female or anywhere in between has a testosterone level that would allow them to build muscle (true muscle) like that. My purse weighs more than one pound, so does my hair straightener, my grandchild and a bag of groceries. I lift significant weight and I still haven't "bulked out"…
-
I totally get what your saying; it's a mental thing for me too. Fasting for a few days helps me reset my brain. After a fast, I feel like a glutton when I return to my maintenance routine.

Hello ladies! If you want to try to "fill in" loose skin with muscle, you need to progressively lift heavier. I started lifting in Feb. after loosing 118 pounds. Definitely have a lot of loose skin (arms, belly, back, legs), but it's my arms that bother me the most because they tend to be the most visible. Don't waste your…

Here's the two that are hanging in my work out room: Life is tough, I am tougher! I may fail, but I don't quit!

Make the time and start slow. When I first started exercising, I started with walking on my 15 minute breaks at work. After awhile, I added a treadmill and bike at home that I got for free at the end of a yard sale. I am often interrupted by life (kids, grand kids, dogs, laundry, etc) while working out; that's OK. Take a…
