Went out for a 4.5M run today. Still a fair amount of discomfort on the right side. I’ve tried stretching, icing, and Aleve but to no help. Figured I can’t skip all my runs so I just dealt with the pain. Skipped two runs last Thursday and Friday. 12.2: 4.5 @ 9:10/M (4.5) Easy Run 12.3: 4.0 @ 9:05/M (8.5) Easy Run 12.5: 4.5…

Skipped my long run today as my hip was starting to feel pretty decent. I’m going to try to make up my 4.0M Pace Run I skipped on Thursday tomorrow and then get back on track Sunday. If I can do that, then I’m only technically missing 1 long run of 90 minutes. But I’ll also be smart about not running with pain. So for the…

Skipping today’s 4.0M Pace Run to allow my hip to rest. First time I’ve missed a run since Sept 14th, running 5X/week. I’m so bummed but I think this is a smart move. I jogged down my hallway and it bothered me. Tomorrow is a 90 minute long run which I think is more important to complete instead of a short run.

I still can't massage it out or stretch it out. Will try some ice tonight before I go to sleep. Pain is much worse after…

Thanks for the tip. I've tried self-massage since my massage therapist couldn't really pin point anything that was troublesome to his touch with no luck. It seems to flare up more around my time of the month when I look back at my running app "notes". I still get a lot of pain around the front part of the pelvic bone and…

I’m sorry, I can’t find if you answered what you’re currently running/doing for fitness right now.
-
I like the above suggestion of trying g out a week halfway thru the program and see how you do with that. If you do well, try the next. Once you are done, you can try to do Hal Higdon’s beginner 10K plan. Then make your way into the 15K/10M plan.
-
I strongly advise against running 7 days a week at this point.
-
I agree with others telling you to stick to a plan. I am a runner, have been for about 6-7 years now but I don't train over the summer. I started up again on Sept 16th- my weekly mileage that week was 14 miles- my long run being only 40 minutes ( I had raced 3 10Ks between June 1 and July 4). Today, 11 weeks later, my…

That is just absolutely amazing!! And all these miles are actually ran?

Thanks again. I am looking forward to the trip. I've never skied where we are going- we usually head to Big Sky but changing it up this year. I have found in previous years that the elevation has forced me to run only about 1-1.5Ms. I'll do my run on Sunday morning before we leave and see if I can eek out a mile once or…

Thanks for explaining. Your volume is much higher than mine, I plan on tackling my first marathon in March 2020.
-
What is your off-season weekly volume? I struggle with coming up with a number to run July thru October. My last race of the "season" is 4th of July. So I let myself fall off the wagon for 3 months normally...unfortunately.
-
Thank you for the replies. As I was thinking about this after I posted, I don't leave until late morning on that Sunday, so I could do my normal run on Sunday, which would have been an Easy 5.0M. Do you think that's OK to do? Then I'll really only be missing 4 runs if I don't run at all while there.

My running plan calls for about 120.5 miles in December. I say "about" because I run my long runs based on time instead of distance because I'll speed up towards the end in an effort to get it over with. I already loaded my runs into my calendar and I have to do 22. Best of luck to everyone!

I had three of mine surgically removed at once as a teenager. Spent 5 days home from school and didn’t participate in gym class until my stitches were removed (had both regular and dissolvable. I’d say at least 7-10 days depending on whether you’re playing sports or just exercising.

Yes, my Fitbit syncs and when I follow the calories it gives me, I maintain just fine.

Thanks. I’ll head out for my long run tomorrow then and have Thursday as a rest day.

I order non-perishables, cat stuff, and bathroom and cleaning products online at Wal-Mart for free delivery. I walk to a Publix for refrigerated and frozen items. I buy certain items in Europe when I am there for work.
