  • I used to wake up and start worrying about “undone” things at work. I Put a tablet by the bed and just jotted them down. This helped me let go of the worry and get back to sleep. If allowed my work-brain to shut off.
  • Hi @hmjack1561 I totally relate to this. Growing up, my family ate to celebrate ; we ate when we were sad; we ate when we were bored. Ot tired or angry. All of the above. And we ate way behind feeling full, to where we were absolutely stuffed. I find myself still lapsing into this pattern when stress is high, but learning…
  • Buying smaller clothes, used on Poshmark and eBay. Enjoying the hunt. Still have a few sizes to drop, but I am so happy that 2X is waaay too big now!
  • Wearing my wedding ring again!
  • I have a Fitbit Luxe that I wear all the time. Love how it syncs to MFP, and that it is very slim. I have bought some different straps that are readily available. Changing straps is just a quick click. Be sure to look at the features of the different FitBits before you buy, some have more than others.
  • Wow-so inspiring! Thanks for the post. Keep up the amazing work
  • And a non-FOOD reward!
  • Welcome! I’m a former weight watcher , who never had any real success with that. Have been using MFP since June and have lost around a pound a week, logging food. drinking water, and increasing activity. I find reading posts from other community members has helped me a lot. So glad you are with us- I know you can do this!
  • As I’ve been losing weight, have had fun shopping on eBay for smaller size used clothes. I have a ways to go, so don’t want to invest much in wardrobe right now, but buying a few pieces has been fun. And a non-good reward!
  • Welcome back all! Tracking, moving, and drinking water are really helping me to get healthier (and lose weight). I took a break from logging the week of Thanksgiving, and started down the slippery slope… argh. So glad to be back on track with all of you. We can do this. 🐢🐢🐢 Turtle Slow!
  • Be sure you are drinking plenty of water. Also, hot tea in the evening seems to help with my cravings for “comfort food”. Congratulations for getting back to healthier choices! You can do this!
  • Well worth reading- thanks for sharing. It is a real motivational reminder that taking these steps and being patience -the weight does come off. Congratulations on your achievement. I look forward to hearing back when you reach your final goal!
  • Welcome Velma! You’ve started-hooray! Just take your time to look around the app, and try things out. You’ll find what works for you! Just keep swimming! (favorite Dory quote from Finding Nemo). I’m rooting for you! Karen in Seattle
  • Ok, starting over.Last week ate way too much, did not log, and moved way too little. JFT Monday: 1. Log every bite 2. Drink min 6 glasses water 3. Pool exercise or 7000 steps
  • Wearing my wedding ring again for the first time in 4 years! It fits comfortably, doesn’t feel like it’s cutting off the circulation. Also, current size of underwear starting to sag- will need to buy smaller size soon 😊
  • I have recently started feeling cold again. For the past 4 years at least, I have been hot all the time. because of the super-insulating fat layer all over my body. I never used to even hardly wear a coat in winter, and almost always wore only short sleeves-even in winter. . Now I am enjoying wearing sweaters and long…
  • Had dr appt for 1st time since really committing to MFP (in May 2023), and beginning Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes. -My A1C down from high of 6.6 in Dec 2022, to 4.8 yesterday! -Also, my kidney function improved, likely due to being adequately hydrated, as I have been really working on drinking more water. Happy Dance 🕺🏿
  • JFT Tuesday HALLOWEEN Night I won’t eat anything after dinner. Went over calories with a homemade Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and 3 fun size chocolate bars at workI. I hate it that there are Candy Dishes all over the very small office….Thank goodness we don’t get trick or treaters at my house, so didn’t have to buy any…
  • Way to go! I am also working at this in 10lb increments. Makes it so much more achievable! Keep it up-we’ll get there.. 🐢

  • To make it to my next 10lb weight loss mark, 210lbs, by end of November. Currently at 218.2, so have 8.2 lbs to go!!!! Also thinking about how I will reward myself. ( For meeting my 220 goal I just treated myself to new waterproof walking shoes. I’m set now for walking on rainy fall days!)
  • Feeling heartbroken over Israel/Hamas conflict, and all of the senseless loss of life on both sides. Researching which humanitarian aid agencies are on the ground in Gaza. “Doctors Without Borders” is highly rated, and working to get medicines in, think I will donate there. ❤️‍🩹
  • @pettycoatjunction They just arrived today, Brooks Ghost 14 GTX. There is a newer model, Ghost 15 GTX, I understand they are very similar. The GTX stands for Goretex, waterproof but breathable. Love them so far, super comfortable! Now I just need a new raincoat-my plus size 3X is getting baggy! ☔️☔️☔️

  • Well done! Just keep logging and be sure to get some protein at every meal. You are in your way!
  • Amen! I have been doing this for about 4 mos now, and find it way more effective for me than Weight Watchers. Looking things up for the first time can be kind of annoying, but it gets a lot faster after a couple of weeks. KEEP ON LOGGING! 👏👏👏
  • Pizza is my nemesis. Can’t seem to have just a small piece or two. Maybe when I’m further down the road with my weight loss this will get better. For now, I’m just avoiding confrontations!
