LOL yes, people will notice the change, but sometimes it takes them a while to realize exactly what it is. Or they’re treading lightly because they’re afraid to comment on your weight.
People have asked me if I changed my hair color/style, did my makeup differently, or am wearing new clothes. Yesterday my coworker boldly said, “wow, you’re getting skinny!”10 -
Despite having lost 33 lbs, I haven’t had many people notice a difference (which is so weird because I’m 5ft3in and so one would think it was noticeable!)
One of my brothers, who is a dear, saw me for the first time in a month. And because he’s too sweet to comment on weight, he said “wow- you look healthy, like you’re taking good care of yourself!” To me, this meant that he noticed. And that felt so good.25 -

I love the way he put his comment. Sometimes you need to be careful commenting on someone's weight, but telling them that they look healthy? Awesome compliment!15 -
I've sprouted alien arms. I was lying in bed this morning and didn't recognize the forearms that were in front of me as belonging to me... they look weirdly thin and long now, with a bone protruding where previously there was padding Like someone else's arms. I realized that I never thought of myself as someone who could have slender arms, isn't that something. I guess I do now!
I love all your comments about other people's feedback. About ten years ago, which was the last time I lost a large amount of weight, I was getting very direct comments all the time from all kinds of people -- family, friends, semi-strangers. This time around it's like nobody wants to say anything! I wonder if social conventions have changed or if my attitude has. @mollypw1994 I got basically no comments at all until I was about 40 lbs. down. I'm the same height as you. Maybe you'll start drawing more attention soon, too?17 -
My boobs are getting pretty small and I definitely need a new bra. I still have a fair amount of weight to lose, so I'm being cheap at the moment and just making do.13

My recent NSV was yesterday. I put on a fun pair of grey jeans that I hadn’t worn in while. They had been too snug. I wore them all day yesterday, and had to keep pulling them up, as they felt like they were falling off. End of the day, I took them off WITHOUT UNBUTTONING/unzipping them. They sort of just slid off of me. It was awesome!
Guess they’re going in the Salvation Army pile!26 -
I’m out on a walk, wearing my size 16 jeans! Three months of work and 24lbs lost since I first got to wear my size 18’s. They are so baggy now and I feel great finally having jeans that fit me right again 😎19

My NSV is that I’ve had several pictures taken of myself in the last few days, and in some of them I actually look fit. Most of my life I would try to hide my body in pictures and only take them from the neck up, but I’m finding myself wanting to show off my cute boots and new jeans. I am starting to prefer full-body photos. That is totally crazypants!
Also I saw Dolly Parton in her Cowboys cheerleading outfit, and it gives me great hope for my elderly years. That woman is a total legend. I’m sure I won’t ever be scantily clad onstage, but I plan to keep rockin the athleticism and staying young at heart forever.21 -
I went Christmas shopping today with my daughter - about three hours of walking around a large shopping centre. Afterwards, it hit me that we only sat down once in that time for about 20 minutes to have lunch. I didn't feel tired or achey or anything. All the walking I have done over the past few months is starting to pay off in ways I hadn't even thought about.23

I ran into Walmart to get a few items, and something felt different. My pants had slid down to my knees! I looked around to make sure no one was taking my pic for one of those "People of Walmart" photos, hahaha. At least I had on dark underwear. With great pleasure I tossed those now-too-big pants into my donation pile.24

I like seeing myself in the mirror. That was not a thing for me for years! It's nice not having to avoid my own reflection anymore. I still have plenty of weight to lose, but I think I look good again and I no longer feel shame and self-hatred when I accidentally catch a glimpse of myself.19

A while back I had set myself a goal to be able to walk a mile easily. I've been steadily chipping away at this goal by walking more and more. And today I walked a mile easily! Almost didn't notice it happened, which I think is the definition of "easy" In total I walked about 12,500 steps today... a record for me since I started tracking. My knees hurt now and my legs are quite tired, so I'm not yet at a point where I can do this regularly, but I did it!25

I started logging again back on October 2nd. I've lost 14 pounds but nobody has noticed. I'm sure my husband has (he's been a little more attentive lately) but since he never mentions when the pounds go on, he won't mention it now. That's okay with me. I'm doing this for me and basically just wanted to feel better in the clothes I already have. I noticed after church yesterday that I had worn a navy pencil skirt that I've certainly worn before but--for the first time in years-- WITHOUT SPANX!! Did I look like I usually look? Yes. But could I comfortably take a big breath??? Absolultely!!24

I want to the hairdresser yesterday and noticed a couple of NSV.
1) the cape didn’t choke me, in fact I didn’t even notice it around my neck
2) my neck looked kind of slender
3) I didn’t feel the least bit self conscious as he was raising the chair. I always used to feel super heavy and like the chair would just give up any moment.22 -
As I’ve been losing weight, have had fun shopping on eBay for smaller size used clothes. I have a ways to go, so don’t want to invest much in wardrobe right now, but buying a few pieces has been fun. And a non-good reward!19

Just hit my lowest weight in like six years!23

This will seem weird for an NSV, but I overdid it on sweet stuff yesterday (ordered some pre-made items from a place, by mistake they included a full-size cherry pie instead of the single-serving size I ordered, yadda yadda), and as a result slept very badly and now feel kind of gross. Talk about negative reinforcement!20

I bought new jeans and I have a muffin top!
Yes I know everyone is trying to get rid of muffin tops, but I've looked 6 months pregnant 🤰 (at 74) for so long. It's a definite improvement to see curves! Even if they are fluffy curves.27 -
Back in the gym after a week off to recover from sheer stupidity. Feeling fluffy from inflammation bloating, unlovely and incapable, since it was light everything.
Was doing assisted chin-ups, when the sweet young physical therapist who has been shadowing my trainer the last few sessions, nodded sagely (she has a tendency for this, bless her heart) and popped out with, “You’re so petite but I can see your muscles right through your clothes.”
I almost cried, so my trainer insisted “tell her your story”, and I had to share pictures.

And your story is a corker, in a good way!

New low size!! I just bought jeans in a size 12 and was so excited they fit when I tried them on in the dressing room. ☺️ get home! Take pics to send to my sisters to share in the excitement and they both said size down they are too big. I was like how could this be 🤔 I tried them on beforehand. So today, go back to try on smaller size same style and what do you know! They fit! A size 10. I’m amazed. So exciting. I never imagined I’d wear a size 10 or medium but here we are and I’ve still got ten to fifteen more pounds till goal. Wish me luck. It’s taking forever. Slow and steady wins the race 👍 in smaller jeans 😉🤣23

What an awe-inspiring read - actually both of yours (there’s a link to Ann’s in there). Thanks for sharing your stories.6 -
Recently, My husband told me that as I got out of the swimming pool he noticed how much slimmer I
Looked. He was rather shyly complimenting me. At the time I was self consciously running towards my towel to cover up.18 -
I never expected to need smaller pants. I've always wore them below my belly and never had buttocks. But I went from a 44 to a 38. I'm at the lowest weight of my entire adult life. And people at work frequently comment how much better I look.23

I am officially off the omeprazole. After changing my diet, losing weight, and changing the way I treat my migraines, my stomach is finally healed. No more gastritis. I have also gone six months without taking any NSAIDS which is a huge deal for me- I’ve been taking over the counter NSAIDS since I was 7 when the migraines started.
The pursuit of health is about so much more than weight.32 -
I completed my 10th 5km race of the season a couple weeks ago and got my time under 26 minutes.
Less than 2 years ago I was 400 pounds41 -

I hit hug hug hug hug hug but it only gave you one. I tried. 😇
Getting rid of GERD is my very best NSV of all. I feel ya on this one oh, so much.14 -
Today was the day I’ve been working towards for the past several months! I went to a fabulous holiday lights display with a dear family member. We were enchanted and we had such a great time together.
🎄😊😀🎄
I started making plans for this in late summer or early fall, when I first saw an announcement for the event. The website said that the full event requires about a mile of walking… and there was NO WAY I could have done that at the time, so I set myself a goal to be able to walk a mile easily late November. After much training I checked off the goal on November 26, right on schedule
Today I walked far more than that one mile (Apple Watch says I got in 4.5 miles total!) and I feel great. I’m so happy I was able to do this. Not sure how I will feel tomorrow, because last time I walked 12,500 steps (November 26) it took me a couple days to recover, lol.29
