  • are you able to take suppliments? liquid ones or regular pills? What about a liquid diet like medifast. It seems something like that you could drink at the speed you need it to, but it would be full of vitamins and you could take in more than you are currently. good luck!
  • I couldn't lose weight on a low calorie diet. It had to be a low carb diet. i too have eaten a 700 calorie diet and couldn't lose a thing. This is a medical condition that is real and very different from regular people. Regular rules don't apply. It's as deadly as a heart condition.
  • I think it depends upon how insulin resistant your cells are/ severity of your case. Severe insulin resistance is much different than mild. It is something chemically in your body. When you eat carbs it overloads your pancreas and liver. (because the stomache dumps the food in as little as 20 minutes not 2 hours like…
  • depends upon your reason. I have a medical issue so i do low carb, per dr.'s orders. If I didn't have a medical reason I would say, it's up to you,but most certainly there are easier ways to go about this.

  • I am also in this same predicament. I would encourage you to go to your doc anyway and have a insulin resistance test done. You should look at doing a low carb diet. The one that the diabetic people use. It will be the thing that reverses your health situation. You have to keep insulin levels low to keep blood sugar low,…
  • Are you very muscular or have dense bones. this is my case, so the BMI isn't entirely accurate. I'm 5'4" tall...
  • I don't think artificial sweeteners make me crave things. But I will say that daily exercise helps me keep my cravings under control. When I first started this journey I found that cravings were *much* easier to control with exercise. also, keeping carbs to a minimum helps with the cravings too. good luck.
  • I eat low carb because of my diabetes. My Dr. says that women should not have less than 30 carbs per meal (3 meals a day)and men shouldn't have less than 40 because that is what it takes for our brains to function. Also, keep snacks to a 15 carb limit and you won't get insulin spikes. (which cause the cravings) I'm 5 feet…
  • Have you had an insulin test? Or a diabetic test? (they are 2 different tests) I couldn't successfully lose weight untill I started to carb count (as I am insulin resistant) I was eating below my calories, and exercising but until I watched my carbs, I couldn't drop a pound. It's something to look into...good luck.
  • I'm gonna get a full body massage! you know the ones where your naked? I have never had the courage to get one. But I plan on getting one when I hit that magic number!
  • I have 6 kids. 4 go to school full time and then I have a 2 yr old and a 4yr old that stay home. I babysit 2 more kids though, too. I gained weight at home and now I'm trying to work on that. One trick is to clean up the meal and I "close" the kitchen. Mentally at least. This way I'm not allowed back in untill it's " time"…
  • I also wanted to add that you can go back to work the next day. There is no 'recover' time. I went home and had my normal day. I just couldn't drive home because of the pain medication given to me for my apointment. good luck on whatever choice you make!
  • I had the Essure procedure, I would reccomend it. It is for people who are ABSOLUTLY sure they don't want more children. It will sterilize you. It CANNOT be undone. It is more effectice than having your tubes tied/cut. As a tubal, as it was explained to me still leaves a minute chance of pregnancy, although very remote.…
  • have you tried going on line and adding them to your queu? Then see if you can access them through the Wii.
  • bump. I too would be interested to know...
  • I have totally relied on the "calories burned" section. So far I have lost the exact amount, or more weight than I am supposed to. I am open to the idea that at some point I will need to get a heart rate monitor. Right now, I have alot of weight to lose, so I don't know if that matters. I'm sure when I am down to the last…
  • Are you Breastfeeding? I know that losing weight while nursing was near impossible for me...good luck!
  • Anything is better than nothing. Start with the exercise, the food tracking will come with time. I have 6 kids and currently 150 lbs to lose. (working on it though :) I walk (on my treadmill, or outside) 45 minutes 6 days a week. Or I ride a bike with my husband. I found that after a few days of tracking my food, without…
  • I'm glad you were able to reverse your initial diagnosis. Good for you!! :) I just started on this a about 6 weeks ago and I have had success with keeping my carbs to 30-52 per meal and 15 per snack. I can tell that it keeps my insuin in check, it is currently working for me. as always, check with your dr. before you make…
  • I have severe insulin resistance. I take Metformin for it. Both of my parents have diabetes and it runs in my family. I am hoping to lose weight and reverse my diagnosis. With that being said I would like to add that my DR. told me that with 1 parent having diabetes you have 80% chance of getting diabetes. With 2 parents…
  • my Mom used to do Body Electric and loved it. She doesn't have access to it anymore and was wondering where she could find it. Where are you getting it from? Is it still on TV? What channel. thanks, she would love this a bunch. I think if you just log it in as low impact aerobics it would work, or google aerobics online…
  • I agree!!! BUMP!
