As above – fresh fruit. Or maybe some yogurt, a chocolate rice cake, that sort of thing. I wouldn't fight it, just make sure you have healthy choices. I found that I got so used to less sugary sweet treats that now I find really sugary things harder to stomach – I still love sweet things but my tastes have changed and the…

Wow amazing advice. Personally it takes me 30 mins of cycling to burn 200 cals. And I prefer to get my energy from something nutritious where possible! I go for a skimmed cappuccino or a filter coffee – both much lighter than a latte :o)

Loads of good advice given here already. I really struggle with motivation to run before work because I can delay it till later (which rarely happens). I find it easier to book gym classes so I feel I have to go. Also, a small thing, but I set my iphone alarm with a message to myself to combat the lazy thoughts! So, 'get…

You're not hitting the 1200 target most days anyway, you should definitely eat a bit more. Also, I couldn't see much exercise logged. It looks like you're not logging them or eating them back...? Also generally I'd say you could up your fresh fruit and vegetables. I wouldn't let the sugar in fruit stop you from eating it…

Fantastically simple. Maybe your post will help clear things up for some people who've found the site confusing.

I don't think it covers it. There's cheese, meat and nuts in there which is probably where the fat's coming from.
-
I would say go low-GI on the carbs, and to be honest you might as well cut the diet drinks to see if it helps. Many say that fake sugars will give you a bigger crash so it's probably not helping.

My first half last November was 2:06. I had injured knees so could have run a little quicker in theory. When I'm up and running again I plan to do 5ks but if I were to do another half, 2hrs would be my aim!

Hi girls, I'm 28 and 5'3.5" (that extra half an inch is very important). Currently hovering around 61kg and not unhappy about that :o) Feel free to add me. Sophie

So impressed with your hard work. Would be great to hear how you did it!

This depends. It's true that other sources contribute but there are mixed findings on the coffee/tea thing. Personally I only count water as I find it a better motivator to stay away from other alternatives. And it seems best that you would drink AT LEAST 8 glasses of water. Plus remember you need extra fluid if you're…

I use a HRM. I used it to get a rough cal burn at rest (e.g. doing bits round the house, making dinner, sitting down), so I know what I would have burnt had I not exercised. Then I take it off my HRM total. My resting burn is roughly 90cal/hour, so an hour long workout where I burnt 450cal burn - 90 = 360 to enter into MFP.
-
Follow what MFP tells you. You are set up to lose 1.5lb a week without exercise. When you exercise, you get more calories to eat. Where it says "kgorshkov99's Daily Goal" – eat that.
-
Are you eating the cals back that you burn?
-
I'm 28 and weigh about 130lb. I don't do it very often so I haven't built up my weights (always keep it pretty light). However my calorie burn according to my FT4 varies from 200 – 400... it's all about what you put in! Good luck and enjoy it!
-
So you are eating NET 1000 cals (1500 - 500). That's probably too little. I recommend eating more and read up on starvation mode.
-
Obvious question but got to be asked... are you eating back your exercise cals?
-
I love tuna meatballs a la Jamie Oliver. Chop up some tuna steak and fry it lightly with cinnamon and pine nuts. Let it cool a bit and then squish it up in a bowl with an egg, some breadcrumbs and fresh parsley. Make into meatballs and chill for a bit so they hold. Make a nice fresh tomato sauce. Pop the meatballs back in…

You seem to be doing quite well! Perhaps up your intake of fresh veggies – I don't see many there. Try and cook from scratch whenever you can and make sure you get variety in your diet. Maybe record in your notes when you feel bloated to try and spot the pattern. Good luck :o)
-
Eggs and bacon. Tasty and filling. Just don't fry it!
-
Hi, happy to be a friend if you want to add me! Just wondering why April though... 40lb is a lot to lose in 12 weeks! Good luck nonetheless :o)
-
Ooh yeah an asian noodle soup – get some fresh coriander, chilli, ginger, lime etc. add broth, noodles, steak and some veggies like sugar snap peas or something.
-
Ooh, tempting, although I'm not supposed to be running any more really... I did it last year though and it's a nice course and good event! Too hot though, haha.
-
Hi I'm also from Cambridge :o)
-
Well, you're burning calories so there's no reason why not. You can lose weight without any exercise at all, just through your calorie deficit. Though obviously some exercise is better than none!
-
Well I've looked at your diary, you seem to be doing well on 1200. Maybe if you desperately want to get to 1200, cut out the butter from your brekkie. Also, snacks like the pasta mug thing probably aren't going to sustain you for very long and are quite high cals considering – maybe go for a banana or some nuts instead.…
-
Can't see much from your diary as there are only a few days completed... how long have you been logging for?
-
Sorry, do you mean you're eating your exercise calories or not?
-
Really? Yesterday she ate 1455 calories and did 2436 calories of exercise. That's a net of -981. Her net should be at least 1200.
-
Why thank you :o)
