What is it? An aerobics class? Cardio?

It's an endurance barbell lifting class that pushes you to work each muscle group separately for maximum burn. :) I LOVE Body Pump!

Oh and I also asked my instructor and used the Les Mills website for an average. I created a line for Body Pump and use 500 as my average. Not to get into a debate on eating exercise calories but I will say if I am eating more because of Pump I never eat the whole 500 because I know it's an estimate/average. :)

I'm 28 and weigh about 130lb. I don't do it very often so I haven't built up my weights (always keep it pretty light). However my calorie burn according to my FT4 varies from 200 – 400... it's all about what you put in!

    Good luck and enjoy it!

I log it as Aerobics low impact.I sweat a lot in Pump but there's a lot of stopping and starting so your heart rate isn't constantly elevated, but it burns more than normal strength training for sure.
  • Wow! Thanks everyone - didnt expect to get such an amazing response!

Thanks for all your suggestions - ill keep you posted on how I get on later. Wish me luck! :-)
