  • I'm not the "cleanest" eater, but I do aim to eat cleaner. I still eat processed foods...and pretty much whatever I like/want....BUT IN MODERATION. Focusing on calories in/out will result in weight loss. Everyone knows that fruits & veggies are healthier than doughnuts and cookies though.
  • You look great girl!!!! I am loving the plaid & the yellow shorts!!! Oooooooooweeeeeeeeeeee:love:
  • Great feeling when hard work is being noticed! Congrats & keep it up!
  • Are you eating back exercise calories?
  • My understanding of this is fresh fruits, veggies, and lean meats. That whole shop on the outside aisles of the grocery store. I aim to eat as clean as possible, but I believe everything in moderation is ok.
  • I think you are beautiful!!!!!!!!! It's also not my decision! I joke about getting plastic surgery every once in awhile, but in all honesty, I don't think I'd ever do it. To each their own. You were perfectly made - believe it! Good luck!
  • I prefer to weigh daily - in the morning (bright eyed & busy tailed..hahaha). Friday is my official weigh day. If the scale is up, it makes me work harder. If the scale is down, well dern, I feel absolutely wonderful and proud of my hard work!
  • Approaching the Dirty 30s very soon....less than 2 months!!!!!
  • Congratulations!!!!!!!! You look amazing:) thanks for sharing!
  • Awesome!!!!!!! I, too, have been discouraged a little by the scale this week. I think it's broken. lol. However.... I feel great....and physically, I can definitely tell a difference in my body. Screw the scale!
  • Ditto!!!!!!!! I'm not where I want to be yet, but I'm proud of the progress I've made so far! Message to everyone...LOVE YOUR BODY TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I've always been told that the belly is one of the last things to go in weightloss. Seems true for most people. I agree...continue lowering your body fat & your belly will decrease. This means eating healthy & regular exercise. And time. Apparently, lots of time. Good luck!
  • Congratulations on deciding to make changes!! I also agree that you should be eating your exercise calories back. If you are only eating 1200 calories...and burn 300 ...that puts you at a net of 900. That's not enough to keep your body fueled properly. If you do not eat enough, your body will go into starvation…
  • love your story...and you look absolutely amazing!!!! thanks for sharing.
  • so happy to see results from lifting!!! i can't wait to see my own results. great job, you look great!!!
  • awesome job!!!!!!!!
  • ^^^^ I can definitely relate to this.... Good for you!!!!
  • Give it longer.....stay consistent and be patient. You lost 4 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks? That's not bad at all. Be proud of the progress that you have made so far, and let that motivate you to continue towards your goals! Best of luck! And Congrats to you for the 4 lbs loss!
  • I never had a good foundation built for healthy eating or exercise. Looking back, I feel like maybe I lived under a rock? I ate way too much ....very rarely anything that could be considered healthy....and I wasn't active. I just wish I had started sooner!!!!!!!! I think of this as a lifestyle because it isn't a diet...it…
  • Thanks for the tips everyone. I currently have some 10 lb dumbbells that I use for most of my exercises. I used 30 lbs for my bench press and dead lift last week and squats....and I actually increased it to 50 lbs yesterday. I can definitely identify weak spots, and I was worried that I may have increased too soon. I was…
  • I think we all have these days every once in awhile. For me, exercising actually helps. My energy level increases and my mood is lifted almost immediately. I might still be overweight...BUT I FEEL LIKE THE SEXIEST PERSON ALIVE AFTER A WORKOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This also reminds me of a conversation that i had…
  • I really don't remember... just remember that slower is better. Take your time....and be patient.
  • Depends on how you handle the scale. I have friends that make themselves go weeks without weighing....but I weigh almost every morning. I feel like it helps keep me on track.....but I also know that if it's not what I am hoping to see, not to get upset. Weight fluctuates .... so if you can get on the scale, see a number…
  • 1. What was your motivation to start losing the weight? Honestly, I had become disgusted by the way I looked. I didn't feel good about myself. I didn't like what I saw in the mirror. I didn't like what I looked like in pictures. I am 5'6 and my highest weight was 225. 2. What was your activity level before? Ehhh, slim to…
  • I know that I will never give up ALL processed foods. I try to limit the amount of processed foods in general. I think moderation is definitely key here. I try to eat more lean meat, veggies and fruit. Instead of the processed snacks ...I try to grab fruit for snacks. What's that shopping trick? Shop only on the outside of…
  • I am not a 3 am eater by any means, but I think we all have made the "oops" of eating too much at one point or another, right? Try drinking plenty of water, get some movement in if at possible, and make good choices today...just try not to go to bed hungry tonight. Don't let 700 calories stand in your way.
  • Disclaimer: I'm no expert. Just saying. I agree...add more protein & if you are having problems reaching your calories, protein shakes may be beneficial to you. I have recently started strength training....I found some great apps on my iphone that show step by step instructions on different and affective exercises. I also…
  • I agree with some of the others who have posted...squats and lunges and increase the weights. I will be doing this as well...I, too, have jiggly thighs. :(
  • I'm definitely not a runner, but when I have "tried" to like it, I used the C25K program. I believe it would help you reach your goal.
