  • Use the Wave machine - for high intensity calorie burnouts ( like elliptical but you go side to side - feels like a ski-action, so why "wave" I don't know! But works for me! Have now worked up to a point where I can do 55 mins, in stages ( 400 cals, then 300, then 200, then 100, straight after one another). However, like…
  • Absolutely love Zumba! The zumbacalories.com website gave me a much higher reading for the "mid" level than I have been logging. As for most of the session I have at least one foot on the floor, I thought this classified it as "low impact" aerobics, and added this accordingly. A great way to burn!
  • I have oatmeal evey morning, and I add 50 grammes of fresh chopped pineapple, with one tablespoon of shredded coconut - very tasty! If absolutely neccesary, just half a teaspoon of splenda as well, but I am eating less and less of that, too. Coconut also goes really well with blueberries, or even some sliced fresh…
  • It's been a joy to have you as a friend here, even if it's only been a few weeks. Keep it up - you are already an inspiration to me!
  • thank you - looks good!
  • I am only talking to a few friends ( quite deliberately) - I'd rather select a small group of supporters than mass groups - feel free in add me as friend if you are after genuine support
  • I think so - lost brillliantly for first 3 weeks, then very sluggish this week. Weigh- in tomorrow at my doctor's so we will see if lost anything at all. BTW, I am menopausal, so have not suffered TOM for approx 6 months. Not sure though if the sequence still affects bloating/no weight loss, as I have certainly experienced…
  • Thank you - will def try this one out!
  • Been aware that I was possibly focussing everything on cardio, so our gym offers half an hour of free personal trainer time to give tips and advice on any exercise you want. This week, got my 30 minutes of strength / toning, and suggestions on frequency, blending it in with cardio etc. Worth an ask!!
  • Impressive! Is that around 30 -35 lbs in just 5 weeks? WOW!
  • Feel free to add me!
  • Simply refuse to allow anyone - family included - to have that much power over you. Your body, your choices - you are considerably stronger than you can ever imagine. Take one breath, one meal at a time, and forgt about "showing her" - you need to "show yourself" just how capable you are, and are going to be!
  • I've been doing Zumba for quite a while now - we have a brilliant trainer, and I may not be as elegant as the others, but I think the feeling is, if Trish can do it, we're going to at least try! Each time is a little better/fitter/enjoyable, I have great mates, and I recently had the confidence to use some of the moves at…
  • Thank you - God gives strength like manna - one day at a time!
  • Wow - had not expected such a fast and encouraging response - way to go, guys!
  • Thank you - very helpful advice. I am new to MFP (joined 2 weeks ago), but recognize that I, too, have my favourite gym equipment. Elliptical is also a favourite, but I have not yet added in anything other than the interval training setting. I will endeavour to be brave and branch out! I am finding the site incredibly…
  • Well done - doesn;t it make a difference? To how you feel, think and react? Keep up the great work!
  • I've found the food database to be really comprehenisve - so far there are very few things I have tried that aren't already on there. If you get stuck, I found the "create a recipe" section can usually work out the calories you need. Make sure you plan what you eat, and then the plan will work! Good luck!
  • If they found cancer, and that was 14 years ago - you are already a winner! Take it one breath, one meal and one day at a time, and we will be cheering you on!
  • Thank you!
