I ran my first sub 30 minute 5k in July 2012. I ran my first half marathon in 2:22 in October 2012. I ran my second half marathon in 2:01 in May 2013. I ran my first full marathon, the Chicago Marathon, last October in 5 hours 35 seconds. My next marathon is in June. I'm planning to cut 15-30 minutes off my time. :)

I used to read on the elliptical and bike but as I have progressed in my fitness, I have cut out these distractions. I have also cut out the majority of my music during my runs outside. There have been studies into multi-tasking that have shown decreased performance when attempting to do more than one task at a time. Also,…

I found that the caffeine was really upsetting my stomach while running which is crazy because it doesn't bother me at all when no running. I have swished gatorade and spit it out (supposedly the same benefit as swallowing) and I like honey stingers and jelly belly jelly beans for running. Try a few different things and…

I have lost over 80 lbs and I'm very close to goal. I have lost it slowly while working out though admittedly with more cardio then strength training which I have heard has better results. Personally, I would rather run 10 miles than lift weights for an hour so I have to force myself to do strength training. So back to…

Wouldn't it be cool if when you walked into a store, they could scan your body and then project a hologram of you wearing different outfits as the mannequin? I would love that. Plus, I hate changing rooms.

People are not so mean, your tolerance level is low, but don't worry it is a common problem. To increase your tolerance, add humor or sarcastic asides to their posts while you read them. Or pretend they are being sarcastic or just teasing a friend. If that doesn't work, go run 6-10 miles and then it's hard for anything to…

As long as you clean up after yourself, I see no problem with sweating at the gym. That' s kind of the point!
