Now that I think of it, I've had this reaction at other times with vitamin B-12 (I took it once and was off-the-walls until 4 am; unfortunately, that energy blast went away after a couple days of doses, when I guess my body got used to it). I've been taking the collagen peptide for about 4 days now and I feel basically…

Yep-- I saw the cow and assumed it was dairy-related! I don't really mind bending my vegetarianism for things like supplements though-- I've taken vitamins/medicine in the past with some animal-product in them. It's not a huge deal to me to drink this cow-juice.

I don’t track them because I want to incentivize taking them. (Although logging them could help you remember to take your supplements.... hmmm.) I usually leave room in my caloric calculation for supplements/etc to be “free”.

I think I said in some other comment, the news of Trump's soda drinking habits led to my newsfeed showing me a bunch of articles about how too much Diet Coke leads to dementia and diabetes. Which... I would rather not get. But I guess if they said Obama drank 12 sodas a day I'd be less worried lol (sorry I was tired when I…

I didn’t know that about the coke machines— I will check that out!!! Haha unfortunately I love the feeling of cracking open a can of soda too much... whenever I buy those 12-packs of soda I just drink them all in a row :disappointed: (Not a huge lacroix fan either but I might come around on it)

I love Fresca so damn much..... Fresca, Diet Dr. Pepper, and Diet Coke are my holy trinity....
-
Haha I wrote my post at like 4 am and should have mentioned that Donald Trump drinking lots of Diet Coke led to many scary articles about dementia/diabetes risks being 3x higher for regular diet soda drinkers. Although I also wouldn’t want to emulate any of Trump’s habits, lol. I see what you mean about moderation vs total…

I definitely see it as good mental training for the holidays, vacations, or any time you have to change your food routine drastically. Actually, most diet attempts I’ve failed in the past have been disrupted/derailed, so I think that’s just my weak spot! Better to be aware of it :)

OP here. I ended up taking the advice on this thread and taking a break from my diet (more or less- I had around 1700 calories/day) for a week. It was a mixed experience for me. On the plus side, it was fun to eat more food than usual. On the negative side, it really killed my motivation for a bit. It was really hard to…

I get a big box of fudgesicles from the grocery store. If I ever want a snack, I can easily have 1 or 2 fudgesicles (2=80 calories) and by that point I feel pretty good. That and string cheese. It covers salty and sweet cravings. I guess I need my food to be individually wrapped.

That makes sense! I’m sure every body is different, but does anyone have any anecdotal information on how long it usually takes for the hormones to even themselves out?

I think I wasn’t clear. I was feeling full on around 1200 calories a day, easily— some days I’d even eat extra just to hit my goal of 1200. Now, after losing around 23 pounds (over the course of 6 months or so), I’m not feeling full on 1300-1600 calories a day. And I hadn’t been avoiding junk food anyway (I can’t, lol), or…

I'm so glad!

This was a really interesting read, and might help you identify patterns leading to bad eating choices (I feel it's helped me understand my own decision-making..): https://medium.com/behavior-design/hyperbolic-discounting-aefb7acec46e

whoa there, I need to try that right now

But the genius of this is, it's iced tea+iced tea... truly an amazing invention

I struggle with binge eating too. I wrote a little mantra on my hand that has helped remind me in the past day or two not to binge and to make general healthy choices. (I wrote "learn to say no to your baser impulses" because there are a few different impulses I'm constantly battling, ha.) Another strategy I'm trying out…

How long have you been freelancing? Is it a tenable long-term job?

Ah, there are none near me (I live in Queens). There's one in Harlem, but it'd take forever to get to, and I'd need to pay for the subway. Always hearing good things about this place, though.

OMG guys I AM IN LOVE aghghgh TOO HOT

oh thank you, I was really hungry but don't want to go over my calories for the day... I think I might have some souls now.

I'm mostly surprised by how many calories it has.

Yeah, I forgot to write down what my cholesterol is, I just know my doctor was like, "that's quite high for someone your age!". It's easy for me to stop eating butter, though, because I mainly had it SLATHERED on a bagel for breakfast (like, an insane amount of butter), and I kind of had to stop having such a dreadful,…

omg guys, how is this a debate? SUBS OBVI :flowerforyou:

What the hell is with this guy? Well, there's my dose of morning rage.

I totally disagree. These new episodes don't have the extremely frustrating group dynamic, and allow individual characters to shine. Having such a large ensemble can be a burden and made the show feel like a town hall meeting or something. Talking doesn't make an episode bad :P look at True Detective, it's a slow burn but…

I've only seen the first few handfuls of True Blood... and Walking Dead was downright risible at points, especially the second season and the one with Woodbury. But these last few episodes have been just hard-hitting, excellent character studies. I really, really like WD now.

I dunno, I've done stuff like this-- promising myself reward food-- (it happened with lemon meringue pie), and then sometimes I'm not in the mood for the food I've been craving/talking about for weeks. And then I feel really let down by the food when I indulge. So. Wait until you're at the casino. Ask yourself, "Do I…

Gotta agree with OP on male crush: Jensen Ackles is just, eugh, so freakin' attractive. Overwhelming. I have to stop here before I regress into a hormonal teenager. MARRY ME JENSEN Female crush: Amy Adams. I guess I have a thing for people with adorable noses. I seriously love her in everything. Especially Enchanted (that…

I often fall asleep in my work clothes : 0. I tend to fall asleep dramatically and deeply, to the point where it is just torture to move, let alone undress/put on PJs.
