Fellow Aussie here from WA :-) Welcome to add me, I have the same goal size 14/16 for Christmas!! A few weeks ago I was in size 22!

Cottage cheese is good or maybe a protein bar with less sugars/fillers etc. Chicken breast is always a winner, lots of great protein for low cals and same with tinned tuna.

So motivating!! Thanks for this thread! Best thread I've read on here so far!!

My blender is just a cheapie- a Breviile I think, doesn't always fully churn up the ice though. I'm hooked on my smoothies after my weights workouts and the secret ingredient is overripe frozen bananas!! It gives it so much sweetness without having to add any honey or artificial sweeteners. Rough recipe: Ice Cup nonfat…

Congratulations! You look amazing! So happy and healthy- a great inspiration!

Another Aussie here :-)

Ditto about Napolean Dynamite- glad I'm not the only one who didn't 'get' it!!
-
I didn't mind Wanderlust, I just watched New Year's Eve- it was okay but a bit thin on story, thought it was going to be awesome with such a great cast.

Pretty sure Boomers doesn't have any type of sweeteners if you can get it in the States, it's from New Zealand and it's really good quality

I've been finding it's mostly cheaper. Except for fresh herbs which are a bit expensive here but on the whole the grocery bill is way down. I've found a great magazing in Australia called Clean Eating the recipes are fantastic. All sorts of interesting and healthy meals made with mostly wholefoods & minimal processed stuff…

Go to 'my home' then 'goals' then 'change goals'. You can choose' guided' version and it can help you set goals for nutrition & fitness etc. Hope that helps :-)

Thankyou!! Such a 'noob' question I know but I thought that was the case people might not have been seeing the replies when I posted back on my profile! Thank-you!!

YES!!!!! I was at an outback event last weekend and there was barely anything available to eat that wasn't deep fried! I did the best I could with a burger on a bun and only ate a medium portion of it but yes it was tricky to estimate the calories. It's all about the big picture though and I'm sure it gets easier with…

The Enell is brilliant, no underwire though, but definately worth considering. It's a bit different than a normal sports bra and takes some getting used to but for function it is awesome.

These look fab! Will have to give them a try for sure!

I don't know too much about insanity or the 30 day shred so I can't help there but the only thing I woud say is if you want to lose the 60 pounds then do it, lose the 60 pounds to lose the 60 pounds, don't worry about losing it for christmas. Best of luck.

Besides all the normal things, I'm trying hard to avoid lots of nuts. They are such a great healthy snack and easily portable but whoa the calories are craaazzzyyyy! Lots more filling options for way less cals! I'm trying to include lots more salads and veg and lots more healthy protein instead of simple carbs.

Someone else on here gave me the suggestion of cottage cheese. I'm cutting up an apple and dipping the slices in - super delish, filling and you can keep the portion sizes under 100 cal if you keep to half a small apple etc. Just did my grocery shopping for the week- so good having it all done and healthy meals planned for…

That's a huge amount of cals to burn from walking in an hour but it all depends on the person and the intensity. Double check you have your settings right on your HRM- its worth a check. I had somehow put my height setting up by an extra couple of cm's and it started telling me I was burning HEAPS more calories than usual…

Thankyou so much everyone for your replies! I was hoping to find some support and wow what an amazing amount of support!! I'm so grateful. Looking forward to sharing our journeys. Sarah :-)

Thanks for the reply! Congrats on your loss that is amazing! Friend request sent!! :-)

You look fantastic! I can't see anyone resembling a 'senior citizen' in any of your photos before or after! You are a great example of the benefits of weight training and a great inspiration- bravo!!

Thanks for that, I was doing it without realising then it dawned on me it might not have been correct which appears is the case! Thanks for your help :-)
-
Thanks for the replies :-) They're some great ideas I hadn't thought of, I'll give them a try :-)

I'd scale it back to around 20 minutes and go really hard on the intensity. I'm not experienced enough to know whether 3 HIIT workouts per week would be enough to drop weight ( I would guess that it all helps and would complement the nutrition side) but if it's a part of a mixture of workouts for the week i.e some strength…

Hi :-) I'm doing some HIIT workouts too and was researching a bit more about it this morning actually. There are some great vids about it on youtube that were really helpful and worth checking out. I'm only still new to this type of training but the only thing is that usually the HIIT workouts are shorter because of the…

They sound great! Do you have a rough idea of how many portions it makes or calories per serve? Thanks!
