@skippygirlsmom Totally agree with the horsefly! I had a trail run this summer where a horsefly kept smashing itself on my head for a mile and a half. I was going nuts! My blood pressure and adrenaline had to be at all time high.

10/3 - 13.27 miles 10/6 - 2 miles 15 of 50 done. ( At least I think it was goal of 50. I should probably know if it's a goal and all  )

Setting goal at 55 miles. 25 less than last month to recover from yesterday's first 1/2 marathon. 13.27 miles done yesterday. Saw a friend that I had no idea was going to be in the race and ran with him for a good portion. It really made the miles fly by. As for my performance... I ran a good 10 mile race at about my goal…

There is a monthly running thread in the Challenge section of MFP that is a great place for you to look!

@7lenny7 - Thanks for linking the articles on cramping. I may just fry to figure out a way to bring a small amount pickle juice on my 1/2 in 2 weeks. Currently I don't really drink or carry anything with me on runs but might be worth it.

9/15 - 4 Miles 9/17 - 8 Miles 43 out of 80 miles done. @MobyCarp That sounds like such a tough race and you ran it so well. I get the calf cramping issue at half the distance you get it and I'm not sure what to do about it. I think, for me, it's a hydration issue and need to drink much more the days before the run. I hope…

@lporter229 Holy cow that cadence! I've been working over the summer to improve my cadence. Started at 157 and now it's around 163 and takes active thought throughout much of the run to improve it.

9/10 - 5 Miles. Treadmill to avoid the 97 degree heat. 9/12 - 11 Miles. Longest run of my life. Went quite slow and still my calves were very close to cramping up during the last 3 miles or so. Anything during a run to avoid that ( maybe dehydration or just the end of my endurance ) ? 37 out of 80 miles done.

9/6 - 3 miles 9/7 - 5 miles. 91 degrees and humid. Looks like next three days are going to have a real feel of over 100 degrees! 21 miles complete of 80.

9/2 - 3 Miles 9/3 - 10 Miles 13 complete of 80 miles.

I'm going to hit my August goal of 70 ( most I've run in a month ) with my run today. So my September goal is 80 miles.

@instantmartian Where should I park to do the Kelly Drive run? I want to go this Saturday!

8/20 - 8 mile run. My longest run of the year so far and my slowest pace ever. Intentionally went at 11:00 min/mile pace. Was reading that based on my 5k pace of 8:00 min/mile my long run pace is most beneficial between 10 - 12 min/mile. I think that even closer to 12 would be better but may take some practicing to get…

2.5 miles recovery last night 34.5 miles done with goal of 70.

@kristinegift Even more amazing is that your friend while running 20-40 miles a week less probably runs for the same amount of time ( adding 2 minutes per mile as a guess ).
-
8/17 - 5k race. 32 miles done with goal of 70.

I post my exercise and enjoy seeing what others do as well.

@AdrianChr92 That is an awesome pic!

29 miles done with goal of 70. Flu kicked my butt last couple days. Going to try and run a bit today and have a 5k race on Wednesday. Hard to imagine how I'll be able to breathe by then but time heals

Oh I can tell...They are all awesome!

Haven't run a 10K, ran a 10 Mile 2 years ago but hard to say exactly what my fitness is relative to that. Probably a bit better but too long ago to use as much of a gauge. As for Hal, his plan calls for goal HM pace. I won't worry too much about it. Mostly I was concerned that I may not be working the right systems in my…

@Stoshew71 I'm working towards running my first half marathon in early October and using the Hal Higdon novice 2 plan. He calls this week for the Wednesday run to be 4 mile at HM pace. So my issue is I'm not exactly sure what that pace should be though I'm shooting for 2 hour so 9:09 pace. No good reason other than it…

8/2 - 3 Miles. 8/3 - 4 Miles - Supposed to be HM race pace. Having not yet run one, I am guessing/hoping that is about 9 min miles. Todays run was 8:46 per mile probably because it was only 79 degrees. Any issues running it a bit faster some weeks? Goal - 7 of 75.
-
8/2 - 3 Miles. Goal - 3 of 75.

Still in training for first 1/2 marathon. The plan calls for me to run 75 miles this month which will be more than I've ever run in a month! Smart move training like this in summer, haha.
