  • Hi all! I'm new and would like to join you for your journey's. I turn 48 this month so I feel I belong to the 50+ club more. I've had an alright month so far. I bombed on my diet for a few days last week and weekend and gained weight despite working out a lot after 4 years of being sedentary. This led to hiding and crying…
  • Congratulations! The early months are the hardest to seems. I quit after 20 years cold turkey. Ex smokers be vigilant though, I had a death in the family and told myself I could have one cigarette 11 years later. Yeeaah it took me a year to quit with vaping and weaning off of it. Never another puff!
  • You can add me! I'm not always gung-ho but I'm consistent lol.
  • I am going to start weighing EVERYTHING! I suspect I am eating too late as well as calories sneaking in. I log everyday, even my great pizza fail awhile ago lol. I've been here since 2011 I think? I've lost the same 25 lbs like 3x now. I need to stick with it this time since I'm headed to 50 years old!
  • I have a feeling my late night popcorn snack could be a problem. So tasty though!
  • Holy cow! Mayo is off by that much?! I will definitely weigh it! My gross calorie average is 1575. I probably eat back too many exercise calories. But I am SO hungry a lot of the time.
  • I checked and it's open, or set for public sharing. I do the Lean Cuisine, and Healthy Choice meals mostly, maybe I could add 100 calorie to each for a margin of error? Its barely any food to begin with though. The cheese slices I get for my veggie burgers are Sargento's ultra thin 45 cal slices. I do eat string cheese…
  • My net calorie average for the 2 months is 1471. My Fitbit is too new to get a report yet I think. My weight trend on Libra is 0.0 for April. I started and ended at 172.6. I went up to 174 during the month. I weigh probably every other day or more. I need to lose 25 lbs to put myself at 30% body fat. I'm at 39% right now.…
  • I can definitely use some friends! I'm working on a 10lb goal to start with but likely 20+. I need help staying motivated!
  • Thank you for the condolences. She fought a very long battle with depression like a soldier, but didn't make it unfortunately. I've always been an emotional eater, but this really made me eat my feelings.
  • I'm in California and am almost always up at 2:30 AM! I'm a major nightowl and work online in the afternoons. I could text you if you could text me to exercise around 2:30 PM your time :D
  • Thanks for all the responses! I will start weighing my food. I have an old postal scale hanging around. I eat mostly prepared foods so I won't have too many things to weigh. I'm pretty good about measuring out liquids and such, but I haven't weighed other items. I'm 5'7". I'm eating back my calories burned sometimes. I've…
  • I have been doing insanity then for sure! Lol. Yeah I think you guys are right, I'm going to tackle this as a mental health challenge first, and then achieve what I can with that mindset.
  • Ahhh thanks for this! I've had depression for a million years but I somehow am always quick to blame myself instead of treating things as symptoms of my illness and deal with them accordingly. When I let myself just think it's a personal failing it just makes everything worse. Guilt and shame are huge issues for me! It…
  • I could use a few extra friends too. I lost sight of my goal for a couple of months, but am ready to get back in action!
  • Sorry I don't know much about jogging. Seems most of the joggers here lose a lot of weight though. Just make sure you stretch beforehand and have some good shoes. Hopefully some of the runners will chime in. Sending a friend request :-)
  • So weird how different weights wear different sizes. Like the one lady who was in a size 4-6 but is 140 I think she said? My hips throw off any smaller sizes even though my wrist measurement has me as a small frame. Start weight for me was 162, currently at 144. I'm trying to decide if I'm done. I really want my ticker to…
  • Well unfortunately this is not a "diet" for me :-( But I know what you mean. For me I consider this my new lifestyle. This way of eating (and many failures, see my food diary lol) is the new way. I haven't lost a ton of weight in the almost year that I've been here, but it's significant for me, and shows me that small…
  • I have fibro and was lifting at the beginning of my journey along with cardio. I stopped as I wanted the scale to drop a few lbs as my body always held onto a little more water. Wish I wouldn't have though! I was looking great. I did mostly the machines and free weights on my arms. I went VERY slowly, and if anything hurt…
  • You look great :-) Some of the guys will appreciate your current lack of commitment to studies hee
  • All of you ladies look lovely :-) Those of you with the I hate my thighs and hips need to settle yourselves down now lol. I never once heard any of my guy friends say "Ehh I couldn't date her, her hips and butt were too big" <<<I really like being a pear, I only need to head to lunge and squat city now! I can't imagine…
  • Great blog! I believe writing can be a very valuable tool. Sounds like you have a sweet husband. And of course an awesome God! And some excellent motivators! Getting some new knees, not everybody gets that :-D You know folks on here call under 200 onederland right? Add me if you want :-)
  • Is there any way you can minimize your stressors? I'm sure you might've tried that, sometimes you have to get really really creative to deal with or get rid of certain things. I wouldn't set yourself on a deficit right now if you're that upset. I set mine to maintenance or just log only. If I'm emotionally upset and eat I…
  • And the problem is?....heehee. I'm hoping mine doesn't shrink too much. Don't want the disease, Noassatall
  • You have to ask yourself if doing nothing and possibly gaining even more weight is worth it? As others have pointed out start with some small achievable goals, whatever that is for you. Like cutting out one soda instead of two, skip a pastry, whatever. Doing a quick 5 minutes of jumping jacks still burns some calories.…
  • Oh yeah I looked at your before and after comparison pic and there appears to be a difference to me. Are you taking measurements along with weight? Some folks lose inches, not pounds
  • I was on Seroquel (atypical anti-psych) at one point, so I feel your pain. Some meds will just keep some weight on you it's true. But what I see in your food diary (unless you're having a bad week, they happen) is soda, taco bell, and other stuff that's high in fat grams. Those damn sodas can pack on pounds really fast.…
  • I quit cold turkey years ago when my mother told me "You know a stroke isn't attractive". I quit for health, vanity and financial reasons. I FINALLY don't miss it anymore. Partly due to the fact that my boyfriend smokes and I can't stand the smell of it and think I've actually developed an allergy to it. Which is funny to…
  • Sounds like your boyfriend didn't think it was silly ;-) Congrats!
  • I sympathize with you. The meds I'm on is supposed to be weight neutral. I wonder sometimes. I really feel I've got leftover weight from my fatty meds lol. Ive heard Zyprexa is known to make you gain weight from merely breathing. Have you tried fish oil? Ive heard some people say it can help with weight loss or maintaining…
