Welcome back! I am too a serial starter and quitter... I've been going strong since the start of the year lol - looking for others to help keep me accountable too so feel free to add me!

If you find one let me know! :)

Feel free to add me too, lost 25 lbs of my 100 lb goal so far :)

Bumping this because I love you all and want more people to support

I completely agree that free weights are better and I plan on switching to them in the coming months. As I'm only a month in, it's easier for me to know what machines and how much weight I do to keep a strict schedule. If I increase the weight and not reps that will not make me bulky right? I heard both ways but mostly no…

bump - I like the advice above but also looking for mutiple experiences :)

Great idea, thank you!!!

Haha thanks guys, planning on estimation... So glad dinner the night of my weigh-in so I have a whole week to burn off the mystery calories :)

I guess I forgot some important information, this kind of question isn't as general as I thought. I'm approx 100 lbs overweight and just started working out. I'm doing strength training 3x a week and cardio 3x a week to lose fat and keep muscle.

Feel free add me - 30 year old female looking to lose 100+ lbs... been a member since 2011 but same story as you, never stuck with it but feeling confident this time!

I think everyone here has such helpful tips. It's nice knowing that people were able to overcome this and can look back at their accomplishments. Maybe I'll start a blog to detail how I'm feeling and what I want and why I feel I want it. Hopefully I can pinpoint whats going on in order to move on.

Excellent idea Stealthq! If I see it on paper I will be less likely to think "ohh I ate pretty good today I should be okay to have these extra calories" because I will have it in writing!

You guys are seriously the best. Thank you for all the non-judgement insight... although I hate that other people have this same issue, it feels good to not be the only one. My husband and I work together so I either pack a lunch and stay at work while he lets the dogs out or I go home with him with intensions of eating a…

I already do that SezxyStef, I couldn't live without this stuff! The problem lies when I feel like this I eat it but in excess and don't log it because I "give up"

Thank you!!!!!

A lot of people on here are rude for the sake of feeling better about themselves. Sure, maybe this question or thread is a repeat, most are because every has a unique situation and you can't get advice for yourself when the stats are about someone else's body. Remember, the scale is not everything... it can and will be…

Here's my question after re-reading through all of this... because I have a fitbit, is it really as simple as taking my calories burned per day for a week/month and using that average as my TDEE? And then eat 15% less than that? Obviously as I lose I would need to recalcuate my TDEE.
-
I'm down almost 3 lbs... I'll take it! I've learned that the scale is only part of the challenge. Let's go day 20!!! :)
-
It's a FitBit One... ooooops :) thanks for the input everyone. I'm going to re-read this later to make sure I understand it all and then determine which way I want to go about upping my calories.
-
thanks everyone... here's my next question. I only have a fitbit plus and myfitnesspal to "guesstimate" my calories burned during a workout session. We all know these are not accurate so is it better to set my calories higher (at like 2500) and choose my activity level at moderate and HOPE that I really burn 3200 per day…

Happy Birthday!!!

I feel like I'm doing everything right... eating healthier and staying at or just under my calories and working out 4-5x a week. I feel better. However the scale is not moving like I had hoped. When I first started it was dropping off and now I feel like I'm doing 20x more and not losing. I'm going to stay positive and…

Well day two didn't go as planned... had the most stressful day I've had in a long time and I gave into some fast food. Normally not a huge deal but I ate an entire meal - sandwich, fries and drink - AFTER I already had dinner at home. First time in a long time that I was even tempted and I gave in. I did log each and…

thanks everyone! I know I was freaking out just a tad (okay, A LOT) but I've been working my *kitten* off 10-15 hours a week and I've never been this sore... just disheartening when I stepped on the scale. The good news is that I'm not stopping just was curious if I was doing something wrong. I think fiber is a huge part,…

I'm just bumping this to get more opinions, especially on if I'm eating enough calories

Name: Tiffany State: PA Goals: 40 lbs in 100 days How: Realizing that this isn't a short journey, it's the rest of my life and something that I need to do for the rest of my life... which means I need to make it completely sustainable and fun! I tried and gave up so many times in the past only to learn a couple months ago…

Hi everyone and Happy Friday! I'm glad this challenge is here. I'm going on 5 weeks straight of counting calories and exercising regularly and have lost almost 20 pounds. Although I am trying to lose weight, and a lot of it, I'm not truly setting goals other than to eat healthier and be more active which in turn will lead…

you're amazing and I can totally relate to you're struggles - thanks for sharing!
