Sorry, i don't come here often. My guess is it isn't any good, the battery is dead, or you aren't doing something right. If no light is coming on when you are spinning the pedal, then try replacing the battery. If it still doesn't come on, the sensor is defective. If it does come on (in either case) you aren't pairing…

Cross training with cycling really helped me. In addition, proper shoes and not over striding (that's the big one).
-
Yes. Or of course you could just get on and ride and pair it. Whichever way you want to do it.

I had something similar happen but with my hamstring tendon just a few weeks ago. I tried to push through for a few days but then had to force myself to go easy for ten days. I still did bike rides and took the dogs for walks (no running or weights). Now it is feeling good to go; still slight aching during runs but getting…

Bestbuy has a good sale going on right now on non-Fitbit trackers (misfit, jawbone). I really like misfit and the point system they use, though the other aspects of the app are lacking. They are good devices (hooray for waterproof). The iFit vue is a good looking (feature wise) device, as well. The Xiomi Mi Band is…

I went through this when I started lifting heavy and doing HIIT. My weight only went down a few pounds but I did get much smaller and a "concerned" coworker confronted me about it. It's nice to know people notice the changes, but still annoying that they consider it their business to advise you on your physique (assuming…

Agree with above. If you use Android, use the app Libra.
-
Turn the bike over and spin the pedal while you are syncing. That is what activates the sensor. It comes with a battery from what I recall ( I have one too) so that shouldn't be the problem.
-
What activity level do you have set in MFP? If you have it set to sedentary it doesn't take much before extra "earned" calories start getting added on. Make sure your settings are realistic (or overly ambitious, like mine are)
-
Can you use it in conjunction with the app GPS? Of course, that means carrying your phone and I don't know if you do that or not, and I'm not sure how it would overlap the HR data.
-
Is that something you make or buy? I've never seen it in stores.
-
I've found that my break outs are almost down to zero on keto. after a 20 year battle, it's the first thing that's worked consistently.
-
Lift weights. It's not the # that's the problem but your body composition.
-
No kidding. I have chronic post nasal drip but it's become hard to find generic pills lately; the stores only have syrup. Arrrrggghhhh.

I am actually doing some experimentation with this as I just received the Alta. I have been wearing it and zip with Bluetooth turned off so I can compare data. For instance, yesterday I went shopping with a cart and lifted weights. While there were discrepancies in the the activities I recorded all the data before and…

Make sure you have the option to sync steps turned on
-
I used to do this but then it adds too many calories if you are anything above that. I've found it better to set mine to my highest potential level (highly active, for me) so that on my rear days out will give me negative adjustments and it takes a lot of effort to "earn" extra calories. It's all about what works best for…
-
It may or may not. It did not detect my hour long bike ride but did log my 45 minute walk with the dogs. However, it's only going to transfer back to mfp as a calorie adjustment, not as individually logged activities.
-
Better option is to keep the zip and replace the HRM.
-
Disconnect one. It looks like one is not being entered with a time so it's not recognizing the overlap.

I have the 920xt and it's a great watch but in hindsight I wish I'd bought the fenix3, which came out right after I bought the 920. Coming from polar, the HRM run strap is great, though I miss polar's heart touch feature that lets you change screens by bringing your hand up to your chest. I wanted a true multisport watch…

2400 tdee sounds high. What are your stats?

I ride a cyclocross bike but at the moment I am just a poser as there are no cyclocross events near me. I mainly ride pavement - for fitness/recreation - and participate in duathlons.

You can get a pedometer without getting a "Fitbit", whether you mean that brand specifically or an activity tracker in general. The advantage to a pedometer or activity tracker is that you don't have to have your phone on you every single moment to count all your steps throughout the day. The advantage of an activity…

I do SL 5x5 but only use a barbell for squats and deadlifts. For everything else I prefer dumbbells. So, yes, it can be done that way. As someone mentioned above, there are disadvantages and limitations to using dumbbells once you are going really heavy, but I'm not there yet

It could also be electrolytes, especially since you say you are sweating quite a bit. When I find myself it that situation I drink a small glass of seltzer water with potassium salt and regular salt and a splash of lime. I also take magnesium.

Mine is on the UPS truck right now, so...link is in my profile!

I've had very good results with lifting + HIIT. Real HIIT should only be 10-15 minutes anyway. If you can go longer, you aren't doing it right.

Advil (NSAIDS in general) can be counterproductive. You WANT the inflammatory response because that is stimulating the repair process that going to get you to your goal. Stretching and moving help a lot, or you can try sweet talking someone into a massage. ;)
