  • I was down with a brutal cold for a few days... so I'm a few days behind... but still on Level 1, Day 6. I figure I'll do level one until I can finish all the push ups! :) Right now, i can only do 12 of them, on my knees!!! I know... awful. :)
  • Meh. I don't think it has ANYTHING to do with the "I've got my partner, now I don't have to look good" mentality... ...and more to do with the fact that you are suddenly cooking "meals" and portion control goes out the window, ...lives become busy(er) when you're scheduling two people (and/or plus kids) so it's easy to…
  • 278...a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. And when I got on the scale, the first thought to pop into my head was.. "dear Lord, at least it's not 300." Then I realized... WHO THINKS THAT? I lost ten pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years... and on Jan 1, I joined MFP. Yeah!
  • started feb. 1.. and whew weeee! that first day nearly killed me. same with the second. but today? better! still can't do all the reps (like, pushups. ugh.) but i take her little 5 second breaks and am convinced this is going to make me stronger... i can already feel it!!! glad to be part of this group!

  • A personal favorite and lower on cals, but still nutritous (all things considered): http://www.earfullofpumpkin.blogspot.com/2011/01/no-dimethylopolysiloxane-pumpkin-walnut.html AND Pumpkin chili: 1 Pound ground turkey 1 Small onion, chopped 1 Clove garlic, minced 2 Cans diced tomatoes 1 Can kidney or black beans 1 Cup…
  • Wow! You look 10 years younger too!!! GREAT job!
  • Totally hear ya! I blew it, calorie-wise, for three days leading up to that TOTM... but sort of validated it by taking an extra long walk one day and hitting the weights harder on another. I didn't lose a single pound that week... but figure, at least everyone around me, got through it unscathed! :)
  • It is gross... but totally wonderful too. I will say (TMI?) since living GF... I don't really burp or toot anymore! I used to belch with the best of 'em!! Think fraternity boys, burping the alphabet!!! Ha! Now... it's a rare day when a little air escapes out of my mouth or bum... my husband says I've become "dainty!" :)…
  • oh my gosh! you are beautiful... start to finish!!!! keep up the GREAT work!
  • You know... I hate to admit it, but I did this to my Mother at one point... she was chubby my whole life and a few years ago, she decided to really step it up and make life changes. She lost a ton of weight, became ripped (!), and was feeling good about herself - really good- and everytime I'd see her (before I started my…
  • Hike down... and back UP.... Canyon Ranch!
  • My January goal was ten pounds... and TODAY I reached it!!!!! And learned the sad fact that when you lose weight, your daily calorie goal is reconfigured. :( Bummin' a bit about having to cut about 150 calories out somehow... but yeah!!!
  • Missouri girl here! Friend me... and we can support each other. Not easy... be doable!!
  • But of course, Jeremy!!! We've ALL been called by God... I just think that those of us who work in the church, sometimes get so consumed with helping others, we fail to help ourselves! Welcome and Congrats on a 7 pound loss!!!! Curious... as outreach director... is that social justice outreach or evangelisim?
  • Welcome!!
  • Well, what an adorable puppy you're holding in your profile pic!! Good luck...don't cheat...count...and remember to love yourself. You are totally worth every minute you give yourself... to feel good, live a healthy life...and walk that puppy! :)

  • Realized that was really long! Sorry!! Also... nuts have been a lifesaver!
  • I can totally relate... huge, huge bread/cake/cookie fan too. In fact, prior to my official diagnosis of a Wheat Allergy... I was toying with the option of opening my own bakery. :) I will say this: the bloat will go away and you will feel 100x's better within two weeks. But you'll know... when you cheat on purpose AND…
  • Well welcome!! Enjoy the journey! And the support!!! :)
  • I read that as 101 pounds at first! And thought... "whew... and I was gonna say FIVE!" Ha! You can do this!!!! Don't give up! What is that Lance Armstrong quote? Pain (or counting calories!) is temporary... quitting is forever!
  • Went to school in Lexington...met and married my husband too! I love that area and would move back in a hurry if possible!! Being a caretaker can be so draining spiritually, emotionally, and physically.... and I'm thrilled to see that you're taking a step to care for yourself, as well! Blessings along your journey!!!
  • You are beautiful!! And have been, every step of the way! I hope you feel good about yourself and your journey each and every morning, and continue to make your health and that wonderful smile of yours, a priority! Great job and keep up the (obviously) good work!!!
  • I don't have kids.... but I've got 50-100 pounds I'd like to lose! I can imagine it's even harder to lose the weight with children... but I know you can find the time to log your calories (even that chicken tender you steal off of the kido's plate! I mean... not that I'VE ever done that to my niece and nephew! *wink*). I…
