  • I have just started back after being away 1 year and gaining 15 lbs.back...ugh! Last year when I finally started losing was I actually started eating more, are you eating enough calories? I know that sounds strange but I was in a holding pattern like you for a long time. Mix it up a bit I bet you will start to see some…
  • Welcome, it is a very good site, best of luck :flowerforyou:
  • Hello from Dallas, I give you a lot of credit for starting this time of year! Lot's of support on this site! You may add me as a friend if you would like.
  • This is the first time I have ever had to diet, I was fortunate to have a fast metabolism. I am 56 yeras old, quit smoking a few years ago and gained around 20 lbs! Not to mention I am only 5' so there is not alot of places to hide an extra 20 lbs.! I am close to my goal (about 2 lbs. to go) and am feeling sooo much better…
  • WOW, you look great and yes younger! Congrats and enjoy :drinker:
  • You look GREAT!!! You should be very proud of yourself, good job!!!!:flowerforyou:
  • Also keep in mind that the first 5-10 pounds come off easier than the following. Don't expect to lose every week or you will get very disappointed. Stay focused and log in every day and it will work :glasses:
  • On another board there was talk about hitting a platue (sp) which I did and people were having success with adding dairy such as yogart and milk. Within 3 days of adding it I started to lose weight again. So I am a believer...:flowerforyou:
  • :blushing: Thanks for the research, it was interesting and I too have told everyone I know about it and how much i love it
  • You should be proud of yourself, you have done GREAT and sticking to it for over a year is a veru big accomplishment and a lifestyle change!
  • I quit 4 years ago with the help of chantix I'm not sure I could have done it without it. I was only on it for about 6 weeks but it was amazing, I continued to smoke for almost 3 weeks but they starting tasting so bad that you just didn't want them any more. It was a hard few months, I had to give up coffee and going to…
  • I started eating fat free yogart and increased my milk consumption along with a little more exercise and I finally lost .9lbs.!!!! FINALLY some movement, THANK YOU so much for the advise, it seems to be working
  • That is interesting, there must be some truth to that milk thing. Good for you, congrats. I only have 2.5 lbs. to my final goal and it feels like these last couple of pounds are holding on for dear life. It has been pretty frustrating but I have'nt given up, I will give the milk and yogurt a try, thanks.:flowerforyou:
  • Well you are asking for help so it's obvious you really want to do it. Try and remind yourself of how much more hard work it is going to be the longer you are off the wagon....the sooner you get back on the better and easier on you it will be. Good luck and I hope your Mom get's well.
  • Wow that is GREAT!
  • I will do a treat such as a weight watchers ice cream bar or 1 cookie, a treat with limits I guess is what I do. I do have real treats once a week but plan them into my calories even if I have to put in an extra work out. That has helped me a lot knowing that I allow myself a once a week splurge! I think we all have to…
  • Mostly morning, but when ever I can!
  • hard not heard!!! lol
  • About a month ago when we went to a wedding! When was the last time you laughed so heard you had tears?
  • I am 4'11" 123.4 lbs. (now, was 140). I was doing the same thing, not eating enough, I was averaging 800-900 calories a day. Plus exercising 3-4 times a week and I would go weeks without losing a pound, it is VERY frustrating, I know. Lately I have been making sure that I am always over 1,000 calories and try real hared to…
  • Wow, great job, keep up the good work!
  • Wow! Good for you!!!! That is so wonderful!
  • Even better, how cool is that????
  • Try not to get discouraged, I know it's hard, I have been there. My question is are you eating enough? I found out that I wasn't eating enough, I was under 1,000 calories on a regular basis and the scale was not budging. I was around 1,200 a few times in 1 week and i lost 1 lb. Just make sure you are eating enough and…
  • I bought a new scale and it weighed me different and then I realized that I have a tile floor in my bathroom and it is not always level. Now I take it on a hardwood floor to weigh myself. Just an FYI-Good luck!
  • Sorry Adrian I don't believe it will come naturally, you have to really want to do it. It is hard and it takes a commitment. It took me a long time to REALLY want to quit, I liked it too much. I am so happy that I did it and I am also proud of myself. You will know when it is time, I wish you all the best with…
  • Ex-smoker here, actually that's pretty much why I am here. I quit smoking almost 3 years...20 lbs. ago. I have never had a weight problem in my life until I quit. But in fairness, I don't think it was just the quitting I think I got a double wammy as I think that I entered menopause at the same time. I have lost 17 of the…
