  • I hope I'll feel good. My desire to lose weight and change my lifestyle was more inspired by being healthier, not skinnier/prettier. I want to be able to run around with my kid without feeling winded, not fit into skinny jeans (though, that will be a nice perk, I'm sure!) I've always felt right in my body, attractive to…
  • I eat within an hour of waking up- I can't get going until I've had breakfast. Breakfast is my biggest meal usually. I can't eat a lot at once at night. I haven't noticed it kicking up my metabolism though, it just wakes me up. I like to exercise in the afternoon/night too.
  • oh my! I don't think I could live without bananas! I hope you find relief though. Could it be potassium overload? This is just my completely uneducated guess.
  • one pro I've found from being a SAHM is that I have some play time with my workouts. Lately it's been mid-morning, after breakfast and before the first round of naps. Though I do like going child-free in the evenings once my husband is home to watch the kiddo.
  • I listen to books on tape and catch up on my youtube subscriptions. Lately my kid has been stealing my phone to watch Dora while we walk, so I'm left to hear about the adventures of Map and Backpack.
  • I switched out our plates for salad plates and my husband didn't even notice- he's been eating smaller portions and feeling just as full as before when he loaded up the bigger plate. I also have been putting down my fork after a few bites, eating slower has helped a whole lot. These are some great ideas!
  • If I understand correctly you should always be consuming your goal, even after exercise. So if you have a goal of 1200, and work out for 400 cals, you should eat 1600 calories. I could be very very wrong, I'm new to this too!
  • I see this more as the school covering their @$$ from lawsuits, which is sadly the reason for most school policies nowadays. If they hadn't called you, and your son complained that he didn't get recess/was too cold, and you weren't a good parent- you could call and scream at them for endangering your son blah blah blah. I…
  • I always respected teachers, but then I married into a family of all teachers and it tripled my love and admiration of them. It is CRAZY the amount of work, time, effort and LOVE that these people put into their jobs. One of my brother-in-laws teaches middle school civics- he chose to stay in that job at a small rural farm…
  • hate it, hate it, HATE IT. I never get that "high" people talk about, I get a teeny bit proud when I see how many calories walking/running burns, but that's bout it. It's sweaty, stinky and time consuming. do. not. like. it.
  • low impact yoga, and swimming at leisurely pace. But I'd always clear any exercises with my doctor first. Eating well can do a whole lot all on it's own. :)
  • I've found some close, but none exact. But my friends who aren't like me are even more inspiring and encouraging :)
  • my brain farted, I didn't see the part about no poultry! Sweet and Sour Meatballs (they are probably horrible for you....but soo goood) are good slow cooked, it's pineapple, soy sauce and frozen meatballs (either storebought or homemade) There's millions of soups/stews that are great for slow cookers too- allrecipes.com is…
  • lean chicken + salsa+ black beans + smidgen of low fat cream cheese + corn = DELICIOUS. you throw everything in there in any ratio you'd like, cook it on low for all day or on high for two-three hours and you're done. It tastes great on chips, rice, by itself, wrapped in a tortilla- and it's a great leftover meal, it lasts…
  • I'd say do it slowly, start using low sodium processed foods first, tweak familiar recipes that they do like with lower sodium things, and then once they are used to that, add a few whole food recipes, from scratch meals that are similar to the processed/unhealthy food they eat already. Keep that up until the whole family…
  • I'm making shepherd's pie- lean ground beef with corn and peas topped with mashed potatoes. It may not be the super healthiest but my family will eat it without complaint! I'll just keep my portion smaller.
  • I drink water and do a set of some type of exercise (like 10 crunches, push ups or jumping jacks) I'm trying to train my brain that I'm not hungry at 8pm, just bored! Making sure all snacky type foods are out of my house helps a lot too!
  • you look AMAZING!! Great work!

  • husband spoiled me with a dunkin donut this morning, but snack was a piece of toast with 1tsp of peanut butter and a handful of goldfish.
  • it's just our plan to slowly take over every corner of the internet :)
  • it looks ridiculous, but if it works, whoo-hoo!!
  • there are plenty of exercises you can do while sitting/laying down- they may take longer to burn the same amount of calories as running/leg exercises do- but it's not like you're out for the whole week! I hope you feel better soon!!!
  • I am the queen of naps. I can fall asleep quickly and be rested very quickly or snooze for an hour or two. My poor husband can't nap without getting a headache after waking up.
  • if I don't snack too much, I can handle a happy meal once in a while- I love Wendy's baked potatoes too. :)
  • I use a scale, they had cheapo ones at walmart but they are only rated for up to 300lbs. I think in the long run, photos and measurements prove more dramatic, but for beginners it's nice to see when 2 or 3 pounds shed off. :)
  • it's a date- have fun with it. Skip the normal dinner and movie crap and go to a museum or a local theater show. Have a progressive dinner (appetizers at a bar, dinner at one of your houses, dessert at a coffee place etc. etc.) get him a silly, small present, that way if he shows up empty handed, it's joke-y enough to not…
  • goldfish crackers, thanks to my toddler they are EVERYWHERE and I feel like I'm eating a lot while not going overboard on calories. and maybe a spoonful of peanut butter every once in a while...
  • Tilapia is one of my favorites because it tastes so good with some many different flavors. I often just broil mine with salt and pepper and a side of veggies and rice. I've also made fish tacos with them, covered them in bread crumbs for a fishstick type meal, lemon pepper sauce, experiment with the seasonings you have in…
  • I log everything, cheating or not. I put in my junk food to shock myself at how much calories/fat/sugars a single candy bar or soda takes up. It's been working, I've seen less and less "cheating" days, and I've noticed myself feeling icky or sluggish after eating those bad things.
