Going by the food listed on here, 4 pieces is about 35 calories and 2 grams of protein. This is equal to walking 10 - 15 min. at about 3 miles per hour.

Sounds like new muscle use, not shin splints. Shin splints hurt the whole front of your shin. Just make sure you are doing some good stretches of the calf and shin. You can always heat & ice, to help with pain. :wink:

Another possible suggestion would be to change your diet up. You could do two things. You could zig-zag calories, do a few days higher calories, then a day lower. Maybe it is that you are eating more than you assume you are eating. Everyone's body is different and needs different things. Maybe you should try changing you protein, fat, and carb ratios, until you find what works for your body. The important part is don't give up, fight through it, it will come off!!

its actually a sign of muscle strain and build up of lactic acid - basically a sign that you should feel it 1-2 days later. I recommend a long hot bath and a good stretching session to relax the muscles. It will also help to eliminate some of the pain in later days.
