Looking for great tasty ideas for adding low-fat proteins. Am Type 2 diabetic, so I really lay off the high-carb choices.

Tuna's a good one, low fat, low cal and low carb.
Suppose beans may have too many carbs in for you? Cottage cheese maybe?
Whey protein, mine has about 1g of carbs per 25g serving.0 -
low fat string cheese, lean deli meat (alone or wrapped around veggies), beef or chicken jerky, egg whites, pouch or canned tuna or chicken.0
-
tuna, tuna, tuna... I'm also very careful about keeping my protein lean and tuna is wonderful!0

What kind of whey protein do you use I have been looking for a good low carb/ low cal one?0 -
collard greens and artichokes are great vegetables that are good sources of protein. Also, love veggie burgers and they are awesome as well.0

Nonfat plain greek yogurt - 15 protein, 17 carbs, 0 fat, 15 sugar
Check around. There are Greek yogurts with less carbs than that. Fage 0% only has 9 carbs per cup serving (20g protein, 9g sugar).0 -
I eat boneless skinless chicken breast with some onion powder, garlic powder, and hot sauce. Salt optional. 22g of protein 3g of fat and 120 calories for 4oz. Tuna and some light zesty italian dressing is delicious and low calorie as well.
Basically any lean meat is good in my book. Just look at it and if it looks fatty then its probably not the cut you want.0 -
Shrimp-18g protein per serving, 110 calories, 0 carbs, 2g fat. Yummmm yumm!0

Egg whites, turkey breast, chicken breast, low-fat cottage cheese. Those are some of my favorite low-fat proteins.0

tofu, ground turkey, tilapia, cod etc...0

Try plain greek yogurt, less carbs than the flavored varieties because it has less sugar, then add chopped fresh fruit to it to add flavor. The fruit will add carbs but it will be adding fiber, vitamins, and minerals too. Throw a couple tablespoons of chopped nuts in the mix and you have a pretty hearty snack that has a decent amount of protein without a ton of carbs. Also go for egg whites, chicken, turkey, pork and lean beef. When you are buying meat look for the cuts that say "center cut" on them. This is the meat that is cut from close to the bone, which has less fat in it than meat cut from the outer portions of the muscles. Also add fish to your diet.0

Artichokes, asparagus, collard greens and spinach as protein sources....thanks for this info! I forget there are things besides meats, cheese, and eggs that provide protein.0

It's a supplement to help boost your protein intake, most commonly used by (but not limited too!) body builders.
i personally use this: http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/true_whey
but there are other slightly cheaper alternatives on that site, try the Impact whey, although true whey is one of the best they offer.0
