That is truly an amazing journey, and gives me motivation to keep trying. I have been on a roller coaster the last two years with starting and stopping constantly. It's embarrassing to keep lose that motivation and start gaining again. Thank you for sharing your story it helps me to keep going!

Welcome back! I've been "back again" more times than I can count! Take it slow, and don't judge yourself too harshly. I set a goal for being under my calorie goal for 100 days straight just to see if I can do it! we'll see!

Hey Everyone - sorry for the delayed thank you -but thank you. You're all so right - I needed to find my motivation again and I don't want to jinx it but I think I have. This last week I was under my calorie goal all but one day and I worked out 3 days this week. I even did great on the weekend, which included making baked…

That's an awesome idea. I had that same problem a couple of weeks ago. I bought one size, and then two weeks later nothing fits (in a good way.) I shop at Ross and Yard Sales a lot now, because I am so sure I'll meet my ultimate goal that I can't keep wasting money on buying in between sizes! I clothing exchange would be…

You can do it!!!!

I agree with other commenters - try to watch your salt, and drink more water. You'll do just fine!!! : )

You can do this! You'll start to find the scale will go down which will motivate you more and more. Add friends on here. MFP members are so so supportive and we all know exactly what you're going through.

That feels GREAT when that happens. Congratulations!!!!!

I've found that it varies depending on where the wii board is placed. I had my balance board on a carpeted floor once, and then took it to my in-laws and having it on hardwood changed the weights significantly! I imagine the hardwood floor approach was more accurate. I bought a scale since I didn't quite trust my balance…

Even just taking a walk around the hospital or climbing stairs instead of an elevator is good for your body. Don't put too much pressure on yourself here. Plan ahead. For example, if I know I'm going to be stuck in a place with a vending machine close by and tempted by chocolate, I take my own 100 calorie snacks. I've…

Ditto on others' comments. Make sure your NET calories each day does not dip below 1200. Remember this is a journey, not a sprint.

I've had problems with equal before. I've put it in my cereal occasionally when I wanted to sweeten my rice crispies, and really couldn't taste it at all. When I use it in iced tea, I can taste it. I can't get used to Splenda, it has a bitter after taste to me

you can do it. Promise!

I started a blog that I update periodically with my success and challenges. I tell everything... Being out of breath because of my weight, rubbing holes in my jeans from the friction of my thighs. When I update, I share the blog with my family. It helps me hold myself accountable. I feel like if I just put myself out there…

I got my calorie goal by calculating my bmr at a healthy weight and then doing some math to find out how many calories I should eat if I were to weigh my goal weight. I'm allowed 1700 calories a day. To be honest, most days it's really hard to eat that many. I usually stay around 1500. It's working so far, and if I hit a…

When I first started MFP, I started looking at food like money and making purchases. If I wanted a new dress, and found one that was $100, I really had to think about what was in my checking account and decide... it's not worth it. Food is the same way for me. I'm seeing my weight go down, and I think that pack of swiss…

Heyyyyyyyy Cat Welcome to MFP. This site has been a tremendous help to me in staying focused and inspired. I just started Jan 5th, and love it.

Totally know what you're going through. I'm in Graduate School and I work full time. My school has a gym available to all students. I have one morning class, then the rest are evening classes. I take my work out clothes, and lock them in the lockers provided on campus in the morning when I go to my first class. This means…

He's most likely insecure. We all are with change. I wouldn't ignore it, I assume it'll just get worse. Maybe he needs some reassuring. I know, that sounds backwards, he's being the meanie and you reassure him. But lashing out or getting angry usually means there's a healthy dose of fear in there somewhere. On the flip…

I keep low fat nutrigrain bars around, and lots of 100 calorie snacks from the grocery store. I also find myself snacking on reduced fat crackers and low fat cheese. After 21 days of doing this (not long by any stretch of the imagination) I find I'm not really hungry at all. I usually have calories left over, and I…

This is AWESOME busymom. This is great encouragement for me. I have always been a size 14 or 16. Whenever I got close to a size 18, I would cut calories enough to get back into my 16 jeans. Over the holidays my 16 jeans started getting tight again, and I am fed up! I'm tired of always being a size 14 or 16. Why can't I be…

I made BROWNIES tonight. : ). Only it was with a sugar-free package mix with diet coke instead of the oil and eggs. Absolutely yummy. Makes 12 brownies at 90 calories a piece.

I can work out forever listening to Girl Talk

My biggest lie and obstacle,"I've never been skinny so I must be destined to be fat forever. This is just how my body is supposed to look."

Thanks guys. I guess I'm just so paranoid, because this is really truly the first time I've taken my health seriously. My husband asked me today what's the least I've weighed as an adult and I honestly can say I've never seen anything below 185. I'm just paranoid that I'm meant to be overweight, always. Thanks for your…
