For me: Exercise increases metabolism and helps promote muscle mass. Increasing metabolism makes it easier to lose weight. The more muscles you have, the easier it is to lose fat. Oh and I do not think you are nuts! When you hit a roadblock, you have to change something pretty drastically for a short period of time. That always worked for me. Shock your body with a little different diet, or a new exercise routine. Just keep anything drastic short term.
