You may not be able to lose 30, but you can work to tone up in that amount of time which would make you look slimmer for your wedding. If you're not currently lifting you might want to look into starting a routine now.

It sounds like you have hit a "plateau". I see you have lost 37lbs. You have to recalculate you calorie intake by using this equation.

Current weight x 7= Max. calories a day to lose weight.

For example I am 155 lbs:

    155 x 7 = 1,085 a day max

However, If I lose 30lbs like you have:

    125 x 7 = 875 lbs.

You need recalculate your calories or you will be maintaining your current weight. That is why you are not losing.

...and where did you find this equation?

Good question. The formula sounds ridiculous and doesn't take any other considerations into account. I hope the OP doesn't follow this.

sweet heart , it takes about 3000 calories to lose 1 single pound. you would have to burn 3000 calories a day to lose 30 lbs. and 2000 calories a day to lose only 20.BUT... heavier women do burn calories faster then average or small women. a friend of mine lost 12 pounds in two weeks then plateaued and gave up. there is a thread on this website with picture of men and woman that lost only 5-10 pounds but lost several inches instead. use your motivation constructively and instead of setting a goal weight just set a goal to eat 100% clean and work out every day to include cardio and weight training. you will be surprised the results youll get after just thirty days whether the scale moves or not. reply if you want me to send you tht thread.

i just said i changed it to 20 gezzz

I just started the Jumpstart to Skinny program by Bob Harper. I need to lose another 20 pounds for a very special event (which will still leave me very overweight but I need to get into a dress). My goal is to lose 20 pounds in 3 weeks. This kind of diet is NEVER a good idea long term, but I know others who were in my situation and it worked, they all survived, no rebound weight gain. You MUST follow every aspect of the plan EXACTLY, or you will not see the results you would like. I am continuing to take all my vitamins. So far, so good. Here is info from his appearance on Dr. Oz (I don't really care for Dr. Oz, but this was the link I could find). I would get his book. Good luck! I am going for 20 pounds in 3 weeks on his plan!

If you do that, you will lose muscle mass, which will slow down your metabolism and make weight loss even harder in the future.

Oh and I do not think you are nuts! When you hit a roadblock, you have to change something pretty drastically for a short period of time. That always worked for me. Shock your body with a little different diet, or a new exercise routine. Just keep anything drastic short term.

    For me:
Exercise increases metabolism and helps promote muscle mass. Increasing metabolism makes it easier to lose weight. The more muscles you have, the easier it is to lose fat. Plus there is always the general health benefits (cardiovascular health, mental health, etc)!

I am DONE FOR IT whenever I get out of my exercise routine. When I have an injury or illness, my weight gets out of control even with the exact same calorie intake.

Start slow and stay safe! Good luck

I will shoot for the 20# that you are! Even if we don't hit that 20# we at least know that we gave it our all and didn't hold anything back. Its only 30 days, it can be done!! I am with you!

I do understand you want to look your best, this challenge will not make you look healthy infact you might not even be well enough to attend and I can tell you that from experience in 2008 I found out me and my partner needed IVF to have more children (we have 1 son) I went to an open evening at local clinic and booked consultation I was 12lbs over what they said was healthy and so I lost this in 2 weeks went back and they said I could have IVF but needed to lose more I lost 28lbs in 5 weeks less than you want to lose in more time than youre setting and I was so ill I ended up having treatment in 2009 as it took that long to feel myself please don't go drastic it puts so much stress and strain on your body why would you punish yourself? why not do some 30 day challenge like planks and squats you wont lose 30lbs but you will look trimmer and like you lost weight is 30lbs really worth you risking your health? I thought MFP was here to help on a road to healthy and feeling amazing aim for that. I hate to be negative as im a really positive person but this challenge is too extreme. Things worked out well in the end but id never do anything silly like that again

i'm at loss for words regarding this post...

    ^^^ DITTO ^^^

Some people just don't get it, and are far too impatient to do it properly... which means slowly.
