  • @skippygirlsmom, Not personal at all. I had a bone marrow transplant in June to cure Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Being able to run again has been my medicine and anti-depressant. It has also helped me recover faster than dr's expected. Feel free to ask any questions. It has been a crazy journey for two years.

  • All of the above. Ditto
  • I like to use PiYo, Yoga and cycling as my go to cross training. The yoga and PiYo concentrate on the core and help make you a better runner.
  • I so hate those removable pads. I have a giant collection and hate trying to fit them back into their original locations.

  • Hi all, my name is Deanna. I am so excited to be apart of this group and back to running. I am just starting again after kicking cancer's *kitten* with a stem cell transplant. I did my first return to running 5k on my post +100 days. I'll be sticking with a few 5k and 10K's until June2016 when I will run my first half on…
  • How long have you been running? I had knee pain when I first starting running because I was doing too many miles too soon. My endurance was there but my muscle strength in my knees and legs needed time to catch up. Listen to your body and take it is a little slower. I iced my knees after every run and that helped a lot. I…
  • AWESOME AWESOME results!! You look great.
  • OMG, this is just awesome!! You should be so proude of yourself!! WAY TO GO!!
  • I started with those silly on demand exercise routines, I made myself do not less than 15mins every day, what is 15mins? I told myself that laziness was not going to win and that if I wanted to be able to stay active well into my "old" age, I HAD to move. This turned into a habit and then I decided I was going to learn how…
  • It's water w/ lemon and never any soda, diet or not. Alcohol is vodka/tonic.
  • Ditto on the above, I run early in the morning, try to get on the road before 530am on my run days. I am fortunate to live where we have many lighted streets, although, I would still be out there bright and early. My early morning routine has created some interesting encounters with a few possums and racoons. Then there is…
  • My HRM calculates calories based on my weight and distance, I am a shorty (5'1") and average about 92cals per mile. My HRM is always less than MFP and per runnersworld I burn approx 96cal per mile. Pretty darn accurate.
  • I am currently at 20-25 per week working up to a 10K, I will then begin to train for a HM, which is scaring me. Not that I can't do it, but finding the time to run with my work schedule. Either way, I will get there. :) Happy running everyone!!

  • I tend to be very closed minded with regard to the US obesity problem. Parents need to take a much larger role with their children. Family meals at the table, without TV or cell phones, if sports cannot be a part of your daily lives, then go outside and play. Leave the chips, donuts, soda pop, and all other sugary foods at…
