Exercise is good for your body and is an aide in weight loss, but not a necessity. In order to lose weight it’s all about calorie intake, which means you need to weigh and measure everything you put in to your body. If your husband cooks only carrots, but prepares them in generous amounts of oil, you have to count the oil.…

I always keep some on hand. It prevents me from eating out (a much higher calorie meal) when I haven’t had the time to cook. When you’re hangry they’re a life saver!

Oh, and I love the better beet bowl from Luna grill. It’s 450 calories without dressing. It’s a hearty salad with beets, feta, nuts, sweet roasted tomatoes, and chicken.
-
My current favorite is feta, avocado, nuts, and picked beets.

Rubios chicken street tacos are 100 calories each, including guacamole!

I sauté or roast my favorite fresh veggies and then mix them with soyrizo. Then I layer brown rice, the veggie mixture, cottage cheese, and salsa. It’s AMAZING.
-
Thanks! It looks like an easy recipe too. X

This is my new favorite recipe. I add a can or two of chickpeas as protein and it’s amazing! http://littlespicejar.com/thai-butternut-squash-red-curry/

I weigh everything AND if I don’t know I overestimate, however I was at my friend’s house eating chicken that had been marinated. I thought there might be a good rule of thumb for this in case one wasn’t home where a scale was available. X

I’m here now!

Yes, I find it exhausting to measure and log everything, but I know it’s necessary in order to reach my goals. I find it extremely difficult to eat out especially because there are always hidden calories in cooked food. I have a few stand by places that are as healthy and as fresh as possible, and I have go-to food at home…

My favorite lately is: spinach, shredded carrots, almonds, Feta, dried cranberries, shoestring beets, and Trader Joe's fat free balsamic vinegrette 25 cals for 2 Tablespoon (I only use 1).

Carbs stick to me more than fruit/veggies/protein. I know that I lose weight more slowly when I'm using my calories on carbs, but I don't know if there is a science behind it or if it's just body type.
-
I try not to eat out, but when I do I avoid sauces/dressing. I eat as fresh as possible, and I over estimate calories.
-
Two things that I didn't eat while in a deficit were pizza and burritos. I don't eat those things in moderation so I still try to avoid them. My husband and daughter eat pizza every Friday and I make my own flatout pizza instead.

THIS! I'm not vegan or even vegetarian, and I use Calafia farms hazelnut coconut creamer. It's amazing!

It's just that I'm trying to figure out how to be less obsessive. Maybe that won't do the trick, but calories/weight occupies most of my headspace at the moment.
-
Feel free to add me. I'm 6'0, currently at 204 pounds, and looking to get down to 160-165.

Thanks!

My average was higher.
