  • Oh I feel great now! So many threads since I joined in July with people ( including myself ) saying " Oh just Christmas day, that's it. It doesn't mean you get to indulge all throughout December! " and I agreed! But, *kitten* happens. However, it has made me realise more than ever that I wont let my weight come back…
  • Well done, you! I felt great about it until last night with my sisters. I finished a whole packet of chips and dip ( large packet ) and then ate 2 slices of pizza, had 3 drinks, a cake, a chicken leg...ALL within 2 hours. I felt ill and upset with myself as that really was a pointless binge. I wasnt that hungry. It…
  • When I say " Halfway " even though I'm at 33lbs now, I want to lose those maintenance lbs. I hear we gain 5-7lbs when glycogen stores replenish so I would like to at least grab a few more lbs for good measure so by next summer I'll be maintaining. These last 2lbs have taken about 3 months, and still don't stay off for…
  • Thanks , much appreciated! Well today I have a full house so I decided to venture out on a short walk. Unfortunately we have another bout of high winds and rain. I was really struggling to stay on course as the wind was blowing me all over the place and the rain soaked through my clothes. So I've decided to do the DVD and…
  • I tried 2 of her DVDs yesterday - excellent! The first was " 4 fast miles " - but I could definitely tell I wasn't quite doing it full pelt, as when I checked my fitbit it confirmed I'd only reached 2.9 miles. So I decided to do another DVD, 3 mile walk. And that got me almost the entire 3 miles as I really threw myself…
  • I'm definitely liking the Leslie Sansone idea. I have just added the link I posted to my bookmarks and will give it a go tomorrow if my flatmates arent home. I'll be working 6-Midnight so it will be nice to work out in the house for a change instead of walking around outside from 11am - 1pm ! My work gym is very limited…
  • You know...the gym at my hotel is £25 a YEAR for staff. That's right. But I just like the idea of not having to leave the house as sometimes on a day off I love having a total pyjama day! I've actually got the forms for the gym, just need to General Manager to sign them off. I suppose I shouldn't shell out £££s when I can…
  • I have a flex and it has been an absolute life saver. I had a pedometer before and its pretty damn accurate for me anyway! Im a maid so a lot of my measured steps are also arm movements, but to me a burn is a burn whether its legs or arms! Its always spot on and Ive never found it to miscalculate any sedentary movements.…
  • Thanks Heybales! I actually had a stepper for 6 or so years. I threw it out in the summer as I was using it at the beginning of my journey and really didnt enjoy it. Mad, I know. ( I threw it out mostly because it was getting really stiff, maybe water damaged sitting under the boiler? ) My niche is definitely plain old…
  • THANK GOD this thread finally happened. And here is a pic I stole from a thread back in summer hehe!!
  • I have NEVER understood why people pick Monday or a date to start. my ex colleague used to say " Im so excited to start Jenny Craig on Monday! " Next week it would be " I'm so stoked about my protein shakes starting on Monday! " Yeah, they never worked. I was lying in bed one night. July 6th this year, and was so fed up of…
  • I lie and promise Im done. I've been saying that since the first 14lbs. Ive lost just under 20lbs more since then. People said I looked too thin whilst I was still in the overweight BMI and 1.5 stone off goal weight! I just say that to get them off my back. Now Im at a very slight deficit. Like 1-200 a day, no longer…
  • I LOVE tea. Before mfp Id have cups and cups a day and not think about the calories. So i switched to 2 sugars and now have 3-4 cups a day. Using up to 200 calories every day just for tea. Totally worth it.
  • Same!! I was eating at 1200 and stopped losing after 20lbs. I was stalled for most of August. Then I figured out my rough TDEE and ae at 1600 and lost 2lbs a week again! Then I got my fitbit, realised an even more accurate TDEE on work days was 2200. So I started eating at 1800 and still lost about a 1lb a week! I love…
  • I had a Lucozade sport habit. I drank 3 a day at work thinking they were good for me. Guess what? They are about 140 calories per bottles. And its watered down diluting juice ! lol That is 420 calories of juice till 3pm. I was still drinking those for the first week of my 1200 MFP journey. I had 780 cals left. Uh-huh.…
  • Well. Ive been eating at about 1200 to 1400 a day for 11 days now and have only gained 2lbs. I figure that's because I'm eating at maintenance. And before I am asked: Yes I log religiously. hahah I weigh everything and I never lie to myself about what I'm eating. I've been doing this for 120 days now, so Im pretty clued up…
  • Oh and thank you for your replies everyone. I have tried several different calculators inculding MFP and Fitbits own. ( And Scooby ) they all give me something around the 1000 mark. But I DO realise that this is only relative if I am in a coma or bed ridden. But it explains very well what happened in January! I had my…
  • haha! Spot on. I am 4ft 8in and 88 pounds. Not trying to lose weight at this stage, just trying to maintain. I still have chubby legs so Im just swimming and walking to combat tightening them up.
  • I had my two lowers out in January. They were two of the worst placed wisdom teeth my dentist had seen. One was completely sideways and the other was tilted backwards and a little to the side. When I saw my X-Ray I couldn't help but burst out laughing. I was told I would need to be sedated as it would be a "tricky" one.…
  • Im on holiday and currently hiding from the scale. Im maintaining some days and on a very slight deficit on others. I found the scale essential in keeping me motivated when I was in loss mode. Absolutely.
  • Eeeeeeeeeeeeeverything. I used to eat man sized portions every night for dinner. Im talking like 6 servings of pasta in one meal! And I could polish it off easily. I always thought if I had way more pasta than bolognase mince, I was being " healthier " . hahahahaha Now I use my scales, best thing I have ever done.…
  • I'm not ripped by any means, but have lost weight eating all of the things I know and love. My diet has yet to become " healthy " as I'm still struggling on finding healthy meals that I enjoy. I dont even like healthy snack bars! BMI of 19. Eating donuts and takeaways. Nom nom. Too small for my size 6 clothes and need to…
  • I have one and its EXCELLENT. As I am off work right now each evening I go out and walk until I feel it vibrate or pulse. Then I know I have hit 10,000 steps and have hit my goal. Then I go home and enjoy those extra calories. Its very accurate. I wore a pedometer at the same time on the first day and they were within 50…
  • Me. Went from 1200 to 1800 gradually. Still losing. :-)
  • Simple really. You eat less to lose for months and months. Then your at your goal weight and you just start eating " normally " again. Thinking that you'll be fine. Most of us are or were uneducated. We followed diets, food plans, done a severe amount of exercise when losing. So when we stop all that, we think we can…
  • I log everything apart from the one or 2 chips I usually take at work on the way out of the canteen to go for my ciggie break. Other than that, if I have one square of chocolate, it gets logged! lol
  • 3 things that stick out 1.: I ran up to my ex for a hug. He pushed me back, poked at my arms and said " Awww, your like a proper little fat person now!! " with a big smile on his face. 2. Ex boyfriend, again. He was angry and VERY over emotional one night after a previous argument. He started spouting off the most awful…
  • Most likely, thanks! Looked online but only seen articles regarding stomach bloating so I guess we're all different.
  • Also: MFP really does over-estimate some burns. Especially since I am a small woman, some of the general estimations MFP can give you are off. Not by MUCH, but enough to make a difference. For example, when I first started, I used to log cleaning my house in the morning. It gave me about 90 extra calories. Wrong. Its about…
